I love this place! Colorful decor and furniture, its bright and fun ambiance is warm and inviting. Spacious cafe with plenty of seating and two large rooms. Friendly service. The food and beverages are delicious! I loved the southwest chicken sandwich, as well as the Caesar salad with chicken. Every ingredient tasted fresh and high quality, and the chicken was tender and juicy. The sandwich also came with a tasty cup of soup. The tomato soup was very nice, and the croutons on top were the perfect touch. I enjoyed such a fun matcha latte! It was called Super Monkey Ball matcha and the presentation was great! Honestly I thought this place is cool but I'm just over it. I love a friendly coffee shop employee. I mean - who doesn't? Say hi to me when I walk in the door. Ask me how I'm doing when I get to the register. I feel like that's normal? But I guess not at Chiqueolatte. Not only do the employees here make 0 friendliness efforts, I'm not even sure they're alive. Have some caffeine and chirp up, friends. They have an alright menu, though I wish they had at least a couple more flavored teas like a fruit option and a cinnamon or mint one. The pastries are can be hit or miss. I ordered a pumpkin muffin which was dry and bland. But here's the thing: they have a seasonal menu board - ON THE WALL BEHIND WHERE YOU ORDER. like, behind where you stand when you're at the register. How would you ever know? If the employees were friendly perhaps they could point it out. But they barely speak. So they don't. On top of that, they have the best pastries in the case below the register. Again, easy to miss - and I have! :( my friend had an amazing chai carrot cake (I think?) with a cream cheese frosting - I hadn't even seen this as an option! Because it was hidden below. Again something the staff wouldn't say anything about. The parking around here is horrendous and I've spent half an hour driving around for a spot growing increasingly stressed. And last - why are they holding napkins hostage? Every single time I come here, there's no napkins available for customers. You have to interrupt either the barista making coffees or the employee taking orders from other customers to ask for a basic customer desire: napkins, and they begrudgingly hand you some from behind their barista area. Like, what's up with that? There's so many amazing coffee shops in Chicago that even a cute interior and good products aren't enough to keep people coming back. Service is just as important. Came here on a busy Sunday in fall while the sun was shining and the Logan farmer's market was happening just down the street. Place was packed and it was a bit stuffy inside towards the front. I ended up sitting outside in the front where they have a couple of chairs/tables. I was waiting for someone and eventually once they arrived, I got their order and went inside. The staff here overall wasn't very friendly and looked like they hated their lives. Didn't take it personal, but didn't necessarily start my experience here that well. Thankfully they give out numbers and since we were sitting outside, I told them we were there and they made sure to bring the food and drinks there too.. which was at least a nice thing for us. I had ordered a chai latte iced and a breakfast sandwich without cheese and he ordered a matcha latte iced as well as a turkey pesto sandwich. I genuinely did really like my breakfast sandwich. The bacon was crispy and yummy. Didn't even miss having any cheese on it. Aioli really hit the spot! Drinks were great as well. I may swing by again if in the area, but found it to be a little pricey given what we had plus the service wasn't really friendly. read more

The menu is extensive and kind of overwhelming so we took a while looking at it before we settled on their specials: Mango Sticky Rice Latte & Knafeh Latte. Guys.. the Knafeh latte was exquisite. I absolutely loved it. A perfect blend of rose and pistachio with the crunch factor from the toppings. 10/10. Wish I could get something like that here. Now.. the mango sticky rice latte. We tried so hard to like it truly. It was the one I was actually more excited about. But the top was just too thick, and the mango puree was so sour? Either way, the espresso itself was perfect so it's easily still a 6/10 for me. Also, I wanted to note that we only saw one person working the front the whole time we were there. I visited this coffee shop while traveling from out of state, and unfortunately the experience was overshadowed by the indoor conditions. The air conditioning was out, and the temperature inside was so uncomfortable that I couldn't stay long enough to enjoy my drink. When I asked about it, I was told that the AC wasn't working. I understand that equipment issues happen, but when a coffee shop is designed for people to sit, work, meet, and relax, operating without air conditioning during the summer creates a poor customer experience. The heat was overwhelming, and it was no surprise that there were very few people inside. I hope management resolves the issue soon because the environment made what should have been an enjoyable visit very unpleasant. read more

Needed some caffeine in the late afternoon and Chiqueolatte was nearby. It's cool how the you can sit down and order from the QR code. There's a lot of customization, however the price adds up. Be careful because they add the tip to your tab and you won't notice how less you specifically go see what the breakdown is. You also want to close out your tab once you're done or it will have the automatic tip added. That's what I forgot to do and it charged me the present amount. I ordered an iced white mocha latte and my boyfriend got an iced caramel latte. My drink was decent but I wouldn't say it's worth the price. The caramel latte was extremely sweet and a bit much. I came here to take a break from the heat and get some iced coffee. To my surprise they had the Knafeh Latte. I had been wanting to try this for some time now. This drink was definitely a treat. It has a double shot of expresso, macadamia milk, rose cream cheese foam, kataifi, and (my favorite part) chopped pistachios. It had a very nutty flavor which I enjoyed. The macadamia milk gave it a smoother taste than whole or nonfat milk. I got it for here so it came in a cute mason jar topped with whip cream. It looked pretty fancy. The coffee shop in itself is clean and the chairs are comfortable if you plan to be there for an extended period of time. It is also very quiet if you needed to get work done or decompress. The staff is friendly as well. At $8.75 the knafeh latte is pretty pricey so it's not something I would get everyday but definitely as a treat yourself type of drink read more

What a CUTE spot! I met with a coworker here and didn't do much research prior, which is rare for me. I was so pleasantly surprised with the adorable decor and warm ambiance. They have these little "tree house" seating options in the windows that are so fun and would be a great option to camp out and get some work done or have a coffee date! I pulled up their website to refresh my memory on the name of the drink I ordered and learned that their other locations are actually in Amsterdam, Dubai, and two other cities in the Netherlands...so cool! I went with the iced knafeh latte off the seasonal menu. The drink is a double shot of espresso and milk topped with housemade knafeh cream, toasted kataifi, and pistachios. The drink was creamy, toasted, and just sweet enough without it being overpowering. I was able to find metered street parking right out front which was really convenient. I came here to grab a late lunch with my friend because we were visiting Chicago for Lollapalooza. The ambiance of the cafe is super cute and there were quite a few seats - you have the crowd who is there to work/study and others who came to eat and grab a coffee. The staff is super friendly and the southwest chicken focaccia sandwich was so damn good! The chicken was slightly dry but the whole sandwich worked and it was so warm and fresh! I really like the salad that came with it as well! We also ordered an açaí bowl for a balanced diet and shared and it was enough for two people. I also ordered an iced latte that came out in this super cute presentation. However my only gripe was that the service was pretty slow. I don't know if it was an understaffing issue or maybe I'm just inpatient but it took some time for us to get our food. Other than that this place is a vibe and I recommend it for some good small bites and coffee! read more

I've never been to a place that cuts off "dining in" a half our before the posted closing time. How unwelcoming. I showed up 35 minutes before, and unfortunately for me, the employee mumbled to me that my order would be packaged to go, but I didn't really here her clearly. I thought I had heard that this order wouldn't be able to be packaged to go. I ordered their Van Gogh signature hot chocolate. So obviously I could understand why it couldn't be packaged to go...But no, she said that it would be packaged to go. So when It was ready, the employee handed me a little brown paper bag and a cup with the hot chocolate. There are certain items that should never be made to go. For obvious reasons, their signature hot chocolates is one of them. I honestly left disappointed and sent them an email, the manager replied and defended their employee and their 30 minute rule.
