Super cute cafe with good coffee, solid breakfast/brunch menu and lots of seating. The music isn't too loud and the staff is very friendly. The cocoa is too sweet, but I think that might be just to my taste. The cookie on the side is a very nice touch.

So glad to see a unique coffee shop concept where there used to be a Starbucks (I think). Cute spot, great service and drinks. Self serve water in real glasses (still or sparkling). Loved the vibes and they gave us complimentary heart shortbread cookies! Loved my lavender latte! Great neighborhood spot!

Stopped in today and they've really upped their game. Service was fast, presentation was on point with my cappuccino (how cute is the cookie too?!), and they brought my items to the table. Seriously wonderful experience.

Lovely space that's very comfortable to work in. The banana bread is excellent but the matcha just not really flavorful.. I would return to try more items!

What a lovely new cafe! I was catching up with a old friend who was visiting Chicago. Initially where we wanted to go for lunch had a 45 minute wait, so we stumbled upon this place. Our meals were solid as was the coffee. The mini buns were indeed mini as they were on Hawaiian rolls. It was a Saturday early afternoon, so it was crowded and loud, but things moved quickly and the staff were great. I'll be back!

    - A Royal Surprise at Queen Bee Café Drove past Queen Bee Café by chance and decided to stop in. I'm so glad I did. Right away, you can tell this isn't your average café. The vibe is upscale yet cozy, with a clear attention to detail and personal touch in everything from the decor to the menu. The iced coffee was a standout smooth, flavorful, and tasted like it was freshly brewed right over ice. No bitterness, just bold and refreshing. I ended up staying for brunch and ordered the Queen's Egg and Potato Skillet. Easily one of the best brunch dishes I've had at a café fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and plated beautifully. The staff was also exceptional friendly, warm, and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed being there, which only added to the charm. All in all, a fantastic find. I'll definitely be coming back.

I got a plain croissant to go after my gym. It was huge layers crispy and buttery with thin honey glaze on top it for $7.00. Definitely put this as my to go item whenever I pass by.

Croissant and 12 oz latte - A freshly baked croissant on a white plate and a latte with latte art in a white cup on a gold saucer, with a cookie on the saucer.

Friendly staff, great coffee and the best (and biggest) fresh baked croissant I think I've ever had. Also a really nice atmosphere that made for a great spot to get some work done with plenty of comfortable seating and clean bathrooms.

Such a cute and cozy wfh spot with comfortable seating and free wifi. Service was also super friendly however the food and drink were pretty lackluster for me. I got an iced vanilla latte and there was a weird bitter taste to it so not sure if it was the espresso or the syrup. The bagel sandwich was alright but just bland and the arugula didn't add much either. It got pretty busy when I went on Friday morning so I suggest coming early to find a table.

I loved visiting this new coffee shop! We ordered an iced latte, a croissant, and avocado toast. The croissant and iced coffee were really delicious. I enjoyed the avocado toast, but I might choose something different next time. This place is so cute! When we were there, many people were sitting, working, and chatting. We brought our two little ones with us, and they had a high chair available, which made the place feel family-friendly. We will definitely be back--I'm glad you're in the neighborhood!

This was a cool kitschy spot to pick up coffee from on a whim. It had a fun vibe with plenty of spaces to sit with friends or alone. I ordered a hot vanilla latte, but it was a little on the harsher side and can vaguely taste the vanilla. The service was quick and they were friendly overall.

Very cute on the inside and has a decent amount of seating. I got a dirty chai latte to go as well as a mini bun which was good. It was a Hawaiian roll w meat and lettuce etc. I prob wouldn't get what u got again but I would try something different. Overall, the service was good and I would go again.

Great ambiance and service!! They are even dog friendly. Really good spot for a quick coffee or pastry.

There's a fair amount of seating considering the size of the place. Wasn't able to get a spot today unfortunately, but we did go at a busy time on a Sunday morning. I got the honey and lavender specialty latte with soy milk. I get mixed feelings about lavender - sometimes it tastes pretty soapy to me. I thought this was delicious! Even though we were seated at a regular table, the place had a comfortable vibe and it was easy to settle into. The counter women were efficient, nice, and filled our orders promptly. They did give my friend the wrong size coffee at first, but corrected it quickly and without any problem. One thing I didn't love: my cappuccino was served in a Styrofoam cup while we were staying there. If you're drinking in, it really should come on a ceramic cup and saucer. Save the Styrofoam for takeout! The best part was that we stayed for a couple of hours and no one hovered over us, or made us feel like we had to leave. As for the coffee itself, it was just okay. Not bad, but not memorable either. That's a shame too, because the space is so comfy. Still, there are plenty of other coffee spots on the North Side - and this just gives me a reason to explore others in the neighborhood.

It is so tempting to open them and start smelling, only the signs very nicely ask you not to. Wanting a break from dime-store coffee and tea (Folgers - no hate, it has a place), I decided to get something a little less "meh". Added bonus is that I am able to support a family business, as opposed to the Walton family and their associated shareholders. The staff at The Coffee & Tea Exchange was wonderful! They helped me select three different coffees to take home, speaking to the roasts and what makes them unique. I'd also like to award some bonus points for just the right grind of coffee for my reusable Keurig pods. My amazement does not stop at coffee, either - this also applies to teas. I went home with a few varieties of some of the more flavorful loose-leaf teas I've had! The kicker? The prices were very reasonable! True, it is not as cheap as a large can of Red or Blue coffee from the grocer's, but at the same time, not as expensive as something a corporation (maybe with a two-tailed siren??) has convinced you comes from a magical place called Seattle. Final verdict: My freshman year roommate had 4 open tubes of toothpaste because "variety is the spice of life." I have one tube of toothpaste, but coming up on a dozen different coffees and teas in my cabinet. Once I start running low, The Coffee & Tea Exchange is the first place I'll go to restock.

You can often find many people working diligently (and relatively quietly) so the ambiance is great. I don't often write such low of a review but the one star is for the staff. On most occasions I've only encountered the friendliest of people - in fact the first time I visited and had a hard time choosing a drink, the individual at the register was so kind and helped me make a choice based on what I typically enjoy at other coffee shops. However today I had the absolute WORST experience where the barista was so rude to me after they took my order wrong. All I wanted was the coffee I ordered and calmly explained how there must have been a mix up. In return I was basically shamed multiple times for asking for the right coffee instead of the one they tried to give me and I was just baffled by how passive aggressive the staff member was.
