The second time I just got a cold brew and an egg and cheese on an English muffin and I didn't take a picture at the time, but I almost thought the sandwich was a joke like the little piece of egg on this English muffin was laughable for the price. Kinda meh. They don't seem to have any specialty drinks, which always seems odd for a coffee shop. Lack of specials makes it kinda boring because there's so much room for creativity, especially in the fall season. I got a mocha and chai, as well as a couple breakfast sandwiches. The sandwiches are assembled ahead of time and warmed up on a panini press. I got an egg muffin sandwich and it wasn't bad, but possibly a bit overpriced. It seems like a well-liked place. Stopped in to this very busy neighborhood spot on Irving Park. Staff of three were handling the morning rush with smiles. Griddled Italian sausage egg and cheese on an English muffin was hot tasty and reasonably priced. Got a dark roast drip coffee from Uganda that was great. Super cute spot! Coffee joint has been on my short list of cafes to visit for sometime now, and I'm so glad I finally made the trip! The space is really cute! It's on the smaller side, but I was easily able to find a place to sit and knock out some meetings. I decided to try the iconic marshmallow latte (iced), and I have to say, I get the hype! It's a creamy, iced latte topped with a torched marshmallow. As one might assume, it's a sweet beverage, but I didn't find it to be sickly. Was at work and wanted to get a coffee and so I thought I walk down there is a coffee shop in the building I work. But it was closed. No coffee shop in 15 min walk around that building so what to do. I got over to Grubhub and for the first time I ordered coffee via them. And it was coffee joint - I also ordered a ham and Swiss toast on a multigrain bread. That was so delicious - the delivery with GH was way faster then I thought and the sandwich tasted great. I grabbed a quick lunch here during my lunch break. The decor is classic modern coffee shop, with a comfortable atmosphere that would be great for working. The staff were friendly and quick in making my sandwich. I do think that the food is overpriced for what you are getting ($12.50 before tax for a standard sandwich), although it was good. I think you guys have good coffee, but it is beyond frustrating when you put up your "closing at 3pm today" sign. There have been 3 times now in the past few weeks that I have come by after school (I am a teacher), looking so forward to my afternoon pick-me-up, only to find your store dark and a "closing at 3pm today" sign. If you are going to change your hours to closing at 3pm instead of 4pm, please officially do so. This place is fantastic. I got the sausage and egg muffin, and it is very atypical (in a good way). Instead of a sausage patty, they use cut up sausage links that have a kick and spice to them. They also add a few pickles to slightly lower the spice level, which gives the sandwich a nice balance. I will definitely be coming back! read more

This coffee shop is a gem in the neighborhood. I'm visiting from the PNW so I love a good and flavorful strong cup of coffee. The ambiance and amazing customer service is what has made me come back 3 times out of the 4 days I'm staying here. I also ordered food and it was delicious. I was in town visiting a friend and stopped here for a quick coffee. It was in October and the coffee shop was decked out in Halloween decor. It has great branding and a neat atmosphere. I had just finished lunch and was killing time in the area and even though I don't drink coffee, coffee shops are a great place to kill time so I was going to get my usual tea but the sign out front had a special. A strawberry latte, maybe this would be my gateway to further coffee? I tried it, it was okay. The strawberry was mostly on the nose and then it just tasted like, well a latte. It wasn't bad but I'm not a big coffee fan to begin with. However, it was a good place to sit at the bar window up front, use their free wifi and kill about an hour or so. read more

One of my go to places when I'm in Chicago to wfh. Has wifi, great coffee and friendly service. Sometimes it can be crowded especially when it's cold out but I'm usually able to find some seating. Love the artwork on the cups. You can find parking on the side streets nearby to avoid paying for parking. read more

I love their drinks. The coffee is good quality and they never burn the espresso. Service is nice and the inside is super spacious. There's a ton of places to sit and I like that they offer food. The only downside is the prices are pretty ridiculous. You'll always be spending $7-$8 on a small drink and the prices for a simple sandwich are even more ridiculous. If you're willing to spend the money i would recommend the toasted marshmallow latte or even their lemonade with lavender syrup :) read more

NEW FAVORITE COFFEE SPOT Such a cute spot & love that they showcase pastries from other businesses in Chicago. I had the vegan chocolate cake ball from West Town Bakery there. So good! I'm a little conflicted with this coffee shop. I do enjoy their Vietnamese coffee (the only thing I buy here), yet I usually order online and pick up to avoid interacting with the staff because some of them aren't very warm or welcoming. For once I decided to not only dine in but also try food since I needed to eat. I love a good lox sandwich so I went with that, and I'm honestly disappointed. $15 for a sandwich with literally one thin slice of salmon and almost all onion is insulting to my wallet. After visiting for a local Yelp Elite event, I decided to come back the next day and spend the afternoon sipping Cappuccinos, Americanos, and get a little work done in between. When I arrived early in the day, the place was buzzing and Gatis, the owner, taking care of business. Later in the afternoon the mood shifted and became a whole different atmosphere that was laid back and relaxing. I have been known to be overly picky on my coffee reviews (see others for an idea) but I really enjoyed everything I have had from the Coffee Joint. Today I brought my partner in crime, Dana, for her thoughts; one sip of the suggested Gingerbread Latte and she smiled like a school kid on Christmas break. As far as my standard test, ristretto Americano... smooth, dark, flavorful, and overall an earthy delight. I can say that the coffee is ranked in my favorites list but the food... unexpectedly good. I tried the Lox sandwich and I can still taste it sitting here now even though I ate it a month ago. If you're looking for a great coffee shop in Irving Park (we actually walked here from North Park today just to come here) this is your spot. I love their little breakfast sandwiches - the chorizo one is my favorite! I am an iced coffee drinker, and I usually order a box of coffee every other week or so to keep in the fridge. I really like this place overall. Everything I've tried has been so delicious. Their cinnamon swirl bread is AMAZING like I crave it. In fact I'm craving it right now! I love their marshmallow latte.
