Good coffee, bad service. The baristas I've encountered have all the warmth of a cold vending machine. I understand it's uncool or something to look like you're performing a job but none of the baristas said a single word to me. Walked in, said hi (no response), ordered my coffee, they pressed some buttons, I said "thank you" and they turned around to continue doing something in the back within their pod. Stopped by for a pick me up after visiting Mayfestversay nearby. Tried the Sea Salt Caramel Latte and it was not hitting. I didn't taste the sea salt or the caramel. Quite disappointed since I didn't really eat yet and was looking forward for a good cup of coffee to keep my energetic going for my energetic toddler. It's quite hidden and if I didn't go to this street festival it would have been easily missed. Interior is unique edgy vibe. Bad coffee just made some upgrades to somehow make it even better! The new partition door that opens up brings in so much fresh air and sunlight. And as a bonus: makes the place dog friendly!!! It continues to be one of the best spots in the neighborhood to work while also having some of the most delicious coffee. I usually like to try their seasonal menu but on this visit they were in between menus, so I went for their brown sugar latte. They have a house-made sugar that is so good. I love this coffee shop! It has a big open space with lots of natural light. It's the perfect spot to WFH for a few hours, with plenty of outlets and a huge communal table. Their iced vanilla latte was delicious and I was they had prep chia puddings and parfaits for a snack that I'd love to try the next time I stop by. I love this spot and will definitely be back. I recommend the Masala Chai Latte and the Dulce de Leche Latte, but everything on the menu sounds incredible. The interior design of the space and the atmosphere are perfect for a catch up or study session. I did expect for there to be more seating, but what they have is comfortable. This new spot has piqued my interest since I learned it opened in the Ravenswood industrial corridor. I stopped in last week to check it out. The place was *packed*. They have about ten tables and they were all in use. One was clearly meant as either a communal or large party table because it seats about 8, and it was nearly full. There was a like of six or so folks in front of me when I got there, but I was really surprised that it took only about 20 minutes for me to get in and out. The woman taking the order may not be great at listening... I asked for a breve chai, hot, and she asked me if "regular" milk was ok and then if it was hot or iced. So that could use improvement. I have gotten the feeling at several places recently that they're super concerned with being fast or rushing through an order, and I'd much rather they take their time to actually listen and understand and, if you need me to pause before ordering additional drinks, ask me to wait/say "ok let me get that added" or something instead of just being silent. They have some food too, but I was just here for drinks. Although my experience here was lackluster, I can't say I wouldn't return, because they clearly have some sort of music or other entertainment here on occasion. They had an actual velvet rope outside the place and there's a small dias where a performer can do their thing. So I'm curious about what else happens here, and who knows, maybe if I visit again I'd have a better experience. Although the entrance faces an alley, I'm not sure it's an operational one so pay attention where you're going. If it's not an alley in use as an alley, it'd be cool if they put some tables out here. Parking is practically non-existent; there's a few spaces down the block, possibly. read more

Located in Ravenswood, it was a stop along the Ravenswood ArtWalk. I had a Brown Sugar Latte- rich and sweet. The staff were very friendly and inviting. There were artists set up in the cafe, so I am not sure how it is set up normally, but there were tables inside and outside. They have a stage for events- music and comedy. It's a little frustrating that apparently only one person here knows how to make toast (the only food they serve!) and that this person goes on break during the single half hour (11:45 to 12:15) that most people probably actually want to order toast. They also discouraged us from putting in an advance order because things get "crazy" when the toastmaster comes back from break and everyone is clamoring for toast. Anyway, won't be back. read more

I visited here for their coffee flight. The parking might was a bit of a challenge, as the location's entrance is in an alley. Indoor seating was a combination of comfortable lounge seating and tables, though not a lot of it; it looked to seat a max of 20 people. There's a designated spot for live music to play in the front, when available. The baristas semed to be distracted when I was at the counter, and were pretty brief in explaining what could included in the flight - I didn't realize until I read their paper menu later that seasonal drinks could have been included. Anyway, I ordered a mix of hot and cold drinks from their everyday menu. I appreciated that there were small mugs for the hot drinks and glass cups for the cold ones. As for the drinks themselves, the presentation was nice and they all tasted distinct enough to tell them apart from one another, but not enough to be memorable. I wouldn't be opposed to visiting again, but I'm not going out of my way to do so. read more

The barista George was super nice (only found out his name was george because i ordered his drink) service was great, super quick and friendly. The fact that this place doubles as a venue is super speak easy and i love it. the ambiance was also a win. i couldn't imagine myself working from here, but i could imagine myself ordering their 32oz cold brew multiple times a week. I wanted to love this place because it's so close to where I moved but the baristas are so cold and noticeably unfriendly, it's hard to justify going back. An example that I've noticed (and I see is a pattern based on the other comments below) re: dogs. I've been in here a few times with my pup to order. Both times, I was informed after I ordered that dogs were not allowed. Totally fine, I get it. But the way the information was communicated was biting - almost in annoyance or anger, when there is NO sign on the door (in fact, there's a jar of dog treats by the door!!!) and only AFTER I ordered food and drink. As a dog owner I'm used to places not being dog friendly. That's not my issue. My issue is the behavior of the workers - in these instances and other instances - and the mean-spirited interactions I've seen with other customers. Would advise management to consider the sheer number of customers this is scaring away. Giving this place two stars because I'm genuinely bummed I can't come back - the ambiance is great and they have a great collection of syrups. read more

I came here to work on a Friday morning and it was pretty cozy and it was nice that they had free wifi. They have a good handful of chairs and couch like chairs, plus it's dog friendly as well. Service was great but the coffee and toast were just ok for me. The coffee was a bit weak and the toast had fresh ingredients but just too toasted and thick for my taste. I think if it was toasted less, it would've been easier to eat and not really rubbed against the roof of my mouth. read more

Stumbled upon this newly opened cafe as I walked past their mural on Ravenswood and Burteau. The entrance is tucked away in the alley and the cafe is much larger than I anticipated. Unlike their name, I found the coffee to be great. I got the pumpkin cold brew which was wonderful- not that sweet and the best afternoon pick me up. I'll start by saying my review has nothing to do with the coffee because I didn't get any. I went here because their own social media post from April said they were closing and reopening 4/29 to become dog friendly. So I went out of my way to go here and one person starts to take my order and the other says that my dog has to be a service animal. I just love when businesses waste my time....maybe take the post down or clarify but service animals were always by law allowed in businesses so I don't know why you would make a big deal about doing something you already legally had to. They told me to tie my dog up outside to order. Asking me to tie my dog to a pole in public is not dog friendly. Very cool hip place off the beaten path. Saw them on Instagram and decided to check it out this morning. The place is very popular. They have the yummiest and prettiest toasts. We had the avocado toast and the goat cheese, berry and granola one. Both were delicious. Coffee was great too. Highly recommend. read more

Before I even ordered I was astonished by the warmness of the coffee shop. So calm and cozy with cute aesthetic vibes. I ordered an iced vanilla pistachio oatmilk latte with pistachio cold foam and it was life changing. One of the best lattes I've ever had. In addition o had the Avocado Affair and the yogurt parfait which both hit the spot. The toast was so thick, toasted to perfection with slices of fresh avocado topped with feta, tomatoes and balsamic glaze, a party in my mouth. I finished with the delicious, and very reasonable, yogurt parfait, topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, honey, chia seeds and granola. FANTASTIC. New spot in Ravenswood on Malt Row! Massive toast slices- I had mine with butter and jam. Bread was toasted well with a generous spread of butter and jam. Really good bread. With the recent change to service animals only, this coffee shop is now one of the few in the neighborhood--besides Starbucks--that doesn't allow pets, even for a quick to-go order. It's unfortunate, especially in a community where many enjoy stopping by with their dogs during a walk. Too bad--this used to be a favorite stop. read more
