Best coffee, excellent ambiance, love the staff and their insightful, informative conversation.10/10

I've been going to the Coffee Studio for 10+ years. It changed owners (now Pedestrian coffee) 2-3 years ago and the upkeep/attention to detail has sadly gone way downhill. Food is fresh (pastries, bagels etc) and is offered throughout the day, but most options are pricy. The iced tea has good depth and the coffee is dependable. The furniture is overdue for an update - chair cushions wouldn't be picked up for free in the alley. The regular chairs are often broken, wobbly, etc. The floors are literally taped together in some spots. The ambiance, while once comfortable, stylish and inviting, feels neglected. The staff is friendly and the best thing about the shop. read more

The coffee studio has ample seating and a great ambience or a meeting, chatting up with friends, or studying. They have a selection of pastries that sell out throughout the day. They also have an expensive beverage menu. My experiences here have been back-and-forth. Somedays my drink is on point and others I get a Matcha that it's clumpy. For the price point, I would expect more consistency. Also, some of the staff aren't as friendly/talkative/inviting. read more

Realized this is the same owner as Pedestrian on Belmont which is one of my fav coffee/ pastry spots! I like the vibes here better though. They have a good variety of seating and a bit more light and openness than the Belmont location, some outdoor seating too. The pastry selection looks the same, which is great! Still a great coffee shop... but I'm not sure if I stopped in on an off day, or if with their move to pedestrian coffees they've changed their chai. It didn't have nearly the amount of flavor as it once did; in fact, it was somewhat bland. Bit of a bummer if they have indeed changed their blend. read more

From the looks of things inside, this is a very popular place to get coffee in Andersonville. It's crowded as crap every time here. One reason is because there's limited seating. Even with all the coffee shops around here, it still gets a crowd. That must mean it's pretty good, and it is, with not just the coffee but some bagels and more. After heading up to Andersonville to look around, we stared off by coming here to get coffee. It was already crowded early in the morning. There was actually a need to wait for open seats. A few seats are along the counter. There's also a few chairs and couches, but not a whole lot of tables. She got a cappuccino. The coffee is about $3 for the cheapest stuff. I got the Maple Latte. It's about $5 for a medium. Also we got bagels. It's about $4 with a spread. Among the choices is vegan cream cheese. This is similar to the real thing, just softer. Good place for a light breakfast. It gets busy early and often. There's lots of other coffee shops around this but it seems to be the most popular if looking at the crowd size and the waiting. read more

The entire shop is visible from the entrance, so you can see if there is an open spot. My favorite part of this place is that it is pretty quiet beside the music. Why did you change the style of yogurt you serve!? I used to love your Greek yogurt--it was delicious, creamy, and offered 18 grams of protein. It was my favorite healthy breakfast. But you switched to a soupy, sour tasting brand from Trader Joe's that not only tastes bad but has only 7 grams of protein. PLEASE go back to your former brand. Had to kill two hours in Andersonville so I decided to find a cafe. A cafe that served good coffee, a cafe where I could provide my laptop with wifi and electricity, and a cafe where I could enjoy the ambiance. Found it all at The Coffee Studio. There was a good selection of drinks to choose from and I went with the cortado. Really good! Saw on Yelp later that they also serve matcha cortados, definitely somthing I want to try next. There's plenty of desks and outlets to sit at. You need to provide proof of vaccination to sit inside and I appreciated that. If you choose to drink from the cafe, you also get your drink from a glass cup which is nice. It was pretty quiet and spacious with some plants and chairs dispesed here and there. One of my favorite coffee shop in Andersonville. I'm on my day I come here. My go to drink is Large Iced Americano or Large Nitro Cold Brew. But today I order an iced medium vanilla Oatmilk latte. With a double chocolate chips muffin. The baristas are nice and friendly. I will bring boyfriend back to hang out in the patio this spring. read more

The staff is really fantastic! With the changeover to Pedestrian is going well, but there are some issues. First of all, the Pedestrian web site for ordering coffee doesn't work well at all. You can ask for only one sugar, where in the old app you could ask for basically anything including multiple shots. Second the pastry orders are inconsistent in numbers. Definitely should double the number of Hitchhiker Scones every day of the week. Lastly, they can't do pour overs anymore for some reason I don't quite understand. Anyway, good transition but needs some sorting out. read more

I've driven past The Coffee Studio often every time remembering that I want to come here, well today I made it my walking goal lol (I don't really enjoy waking aimlessly, need to have a destination and this was it!). The staff is very nice, friendly but not over the top like they're faking, the Studio is bigger than I expected (not huge but a lot more seating inside than I anticipated), and has a small area for outdoor seating on the sidewalk. The coffee's well balanced, no sugar needed (from someone who almost always has to put sugar in her coffee but tastes it first to make sure), which I prefer. The pastry was fresh, didn't feel/taste like it's been sitting there for a few days. Definitely doing this again. read more

The coffee here is *seriously* excellent. I love the personal and neighborly connection with a real person when ordering, and I love the vibe! My only wish is that they offered food protein options for sale. Top of my list would be single large or XL hard boiled eggs, still in the shell (customer shells her own). This was the 2nd visit I've had here. I really like the location in Andersonville and appreciate that they are open until 7 on weeknights (unlike many other coffee places that close at 5). One of the best things about The Coffee Studio is that it opens each morning at 6:30, seven days a week. The coffee is excellent, and the cafe has a friendly, relatively quiet vibe. Ideal spot to read the paper or do a bit of work online, with a good number of tables by the front windows, along the aisle, and in the back. The shop's tasty assortment of food offerings includes flatbreads and quiches. Great to be able to support a local, independent business that helps make North Andersonville an even nicer neighborhood to live in. read more

Service here is always good, the baristas are friendly and excellent at their jobs. I like the chill vibes, it's easy to find a seat especially during the week. My only critique is the coffee tastes different these days and not as good as it used to - a friend who used to work there told me that they changed their beans supplier which honestly, was a mistake. read more

The Coffee Studio is an ideal cafe to grab a mug of coffee with a friend, solo, or while pouring over your work. (pouring effort, not your drink). The aesthetics are light and peaceful. I appreciate the variety of seating; there's a large working table and window seating at the front of the cafe and ample smaller tables in the back. Also worth noting, the Coffee Studio should win an award for best bathrooms in town with their private restrooms adorably labeled as "humans" or "humans with babies". I ordered the most gorgeous latte (check out my photo and tell me I'm wrong!) and loved the taste. Their dolce latte comes sweetened with their homemade simple syrup. I'll be back once the weather warms up to order it iced and use their bathrooms. I have driven past The Coffee Studio multiple times, but have not actually stopped by until this past weekend. Now kicking myself in the butt for not coming by sooner. We got the Dolce Latte, Matcha latte, almond croissant, and everything bagel, and I was very impressed with everything we ordered. The matcha latte is probably the priciest one I've ever purchased, though dare I say, it was worth it. The matcha flavor was strong and I had it sweetened with the cane sugar syrup, so the sweetness offset the bitter of the matcha perfectly. The dolce latte is as good as everyone made it out to be. And the almond croissant, MY GOD. Amazing. Looking forward to coming back again the next time I am in town. read more

Coffee Studio has stayed open for the community throughout Covid, offering preorders and pickup through their app. I like that they open at 6:30 am for those early mornings when other shops are still closed. My only gripe is that their to-go cappuccino is tiny - it's maybe 8 oz at most. I would really like to get a 12 oz cappuccino to go. read more

Love Coffee Studio, but I'm with Sara L. below: Bring back the Greek yogurt! This non-Greek -- i.e., barbarian -- yogurt, which I'm ruefully eating as I type, is bad. Decidedly not the yogurt that launched a thousand ships. A pale simulacrum of the Form of Yogurt. The yogurt they would eat in a city fit for swine. Yogurt that tastes like water from the wine-dark sea. One cannot imagine Sisyphus happy while eating this yogurt. If you're in Andersonville, this is the best of the best. Not only do they serve Intelligensia coffee, but the menu is small and tight, nicely curated, and there are tons of other extra goodies (specialty popsicles! Icecream! Yummy teas! Boozy coffee!) to be had if coffee isn't your thing. Coffee was amazing. Moving on.... Their bagel and cream cheese: Divine. Lox and onions? Yes. Everything bagel with the creamiest real-chive cream cheese ever? YES. Do yourself a favor and don't skip grabbing a bagel here. You will not be disappointed. My number one criticism of local indie coffee shops is the pretentiousness that inevitably comes with it. Maybe it's a Midwest thing, but this was the most cozy, kindest-staffed coffee shop I've ever been to. Friendly and warm baristas who took their time on every cup and apologized for the wait but didn't make things feel rushed, a great selection of music playing at a nice volume, and tons of seating, both two person tables and a workspace table. This was once by far my favorite coffee shop but the new owners have raised the prices beyond reasonable for a cup of coffee. 3.97 for a cup of coffee a latte with oat milk 9.10?? It's absurd. The reason I come back is the amazing staff, Jordan is the best, btw. Seriously take a look at your competitors the prices are WAY more reasonable. They offer more options at superior quality and prices. The menu now is sorely laking. The once good pastries and breakfast options don't exist. This is a nice and chill spot to catch up on emails, meet a friend, or zone out on your phone. They have a bunch of hot food items, baked goods, wine, beer, various cold and hot tea/coffee drinks, including my favorite- iced matcha (so good). I got a flatbread pizza with walnuts, brie, pear, and arugula that was pretty bomb. They had several others that look equally rad. I'm always up for a cup of great red eye coffee, anytime of the day. I was waiting for my hubby to finish up his service call nearby and found this place while yelping on the bus. Got off at Mryn Bawr and Clark and walked diagonally across the street, there you were! I finally was about to get my afternoon coffee fix. I saw red eye coffee on the menu. Great! Even though it was a bit pricy (medium size for $3.85 as of 02/03/2015), it was more than a decent cup of bold black coffee. I know it's a close call, but I still prefer the red eye from Baker&Nosh in Uptown. If you're planning on staying and using the wifi, be sure to ask for a free wifi code upon ordering. You will receive a 60-minute free wifi. Overall, it's great neighborhood coffee shop. I was able to surf the web and had a quality cup of red eye. The service was slower because there was one Barista on duty. I didn't mind since I wasn't in a hurry. read more

I am a visitor from out of town; my airbnb happens to be right on the second floor on this building. This place is perfect for me. The coffee is delicious! The atmosphere is calming and what you expect from a place where i want to sit down and read, work or just sit and people watch. I had a vanilla latte with caramel- This place welcomes our furry babies. Parking is awful but i have learned that in Chicago, this is part of being in a big city. I am returning in 2 hours to have another coffee. Tonight before they close at 9pm i am having their coffee called "the irish" an adult coffee. An update review to come! read more

I recently went here to get some work done. The atmosphere was quiet enough to work from. They had a range of pastries and their bagels looked fantastic. I had a cold brew from here. It was good but next time I would try something else. It was in April 2022 and they allowed indoor seating for those with the COVID vaccine. read more

Great coffee and pastry choices (we ordered two iced coffees and an almond croissant). Unfortunately, what previous reviewers have mentioned about the attitude of the staff here still resonates. Walked in and we're the only customers there. No greeting, no verbal acknowledgement, just stares. I'm glad to read that it seems like most of the "coffee snobs" are gone, but during our visit we must have stumbled upon the few that still exist here. We're avid coffee drinkers and easily drop $20+ on a good coffee shop daily, but customer service is also everything to us. Doubt we'll be back. read more

I was hoping to find a new favorite coffee shop but this place missed the mark in every way. It's August 2020 so I'm not going to compare it to places I visited last year, but other places I've visited recently (i.e. Covid time). First, the patio is closed. I didn't see this listed anywhere on yelp or on their website, so here's your notice. The inside is also closed, which is fairly usual right now, but this is first closed patio I've seen in August. I wouldn't have come had I known. The attention to detail also was just not there. There was no straw with my iced coffee and no napkins with my bagel. Just small things that I've come to expect. I made a mess with the cream cheese and had to clean up with a tissue in my bag. My salmon bagel had way too much cream cheese, but I realize this is just personal preference, and if that was the only issue I'd let it go. If I had a napkin I would have scrapped some off. I wish this place had better service because the iced coffee and salmon bagel were otherwise delicious. When shops like this are on every corner I'm going somewhere else next time. read more

Ok I am just going to say this right now...I am a coffee snob for real. I literally don't own a coffee maker because I just do pour overs every morning. So, I am very easily disappointed when I go get coffee anywhere because of this monster living inside of me that is overly critical of the beans! That being said, I really enjoyed both the tea and the coffee I had at The Coffee Studio. I like that they have two different options for pour overs for regular coffee and an option for decaf and also have oat milk for vegans who like a little bit of cream (as a coffee purist, I am a little against this but as someone who battles stomach acid, it's actually a must for me digestively). Nice stevia sweetener packets too and a great outdoor seating area. read more
