Rather, this is a quick service shop but there tends to be a line of people always waiting. My friends and I recently visited Fat Milk to grab quick coffees for our walk. I ordered an ube latte, and my friends ordered ube matcha latte and an egg foam coffee. I absolutely loved the ube latte, it had perfect shot of caffeine and the ube taste to complement the coffee. My friend who ordered ube matcha latte did not quite like his drink but it was partly his fault as he did not mix the drink well. Egg foam coffee was good too as per my friend, I don't like the yolky taste so I skipped it. They don't have any food to grab so that is a bummer and the seating space is pretty limited too! Loved my hojita latte. These are hard to find in the US...can't think of another cafe that has this flavor. Tasted exactly like how it did when I was in Japan. I was blown away by the service. The guy at the cash register was talking customers through the flavor profile of each drink, how they could customize it to exactly what they wanted, it was above and beyond the service you'd get at another coffee shop. So glad I finally got to try Fat Miilk! We visited on a weekday and it wasn't very busy so our order came out quick. After craving egg foam coffee for over 4 months, I finally got to try Fat Miilk's viral drink. The coffee had a wonderful, strong taste that was still sweet enough to not be too bitter. If you like Vietnamese coffee, you'll like this base. The egg foam wasn't as sweet/salty as some others I've tried. It was good, but wasn't exceptional to me. Lady M was having a pop up at the shop at the time we visited and my bf ordered the hot chocolate special. The toasted/melted marshmallow on top was super good and a wonderful touch. It was nice to see our barista torch it into the drink, pretty cool experience. The added biscuit was also a nice touch. The chocolate itself had a rich taste, however it was a little ironic how the beverage itself wasn't very hot or as hot as it could've been after we got it. It seemed to cool pretty quickly, so we were a little disappointed. Overall, the staff were very kind and the drinks were decent. Used to be my favorite neighborhood coffee spot but due to rude baristas and bad customer service, I'm no longer going back. I hate to be a Karen but when the customer service is rude, everyone should know. Their happy hour runs from 1-3pm and it's advertised that ALL coffee is half off, and everytime I've come in I've received the happy hour special on all my coffee orders. Today I don't receive it and asked the barista and she said the special is only for phin drip coffees. The barista was rude about it even when I showed her fatmiilk's insta post about she denied it. She kept arguing the point even as I was leaving. This barista also got my order wrong but I didn't bother getting a different coffee since I knew they were busy. Not getting the special isn't the issue, but the inconsistent service and rude customer service is. I was a regular here, but now I won't ever go back. I hope this can be resolved by having every barista be informed on the specials and coffee. read more

Been meaning to come here for ages, and so glad I finally stopped by! We were super lucky to stop by during happy hour, too, which is from 1-3, and includes a fair number of their drinks being 50% off. They have a lovely space with bar seating, and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the Argyle area. I got their hot signature coffee and it was very tasty and had a unique flavor, probably thanks to their robusta beans. I should've mixed it a bit more since a lot of the condensed milk in the drink ended up at the bottom, but others liked that it was not too sweet and the coffee flavor came through nicely. They also had packages of beans you can buy that they grind for you, and yummy pastries from Phlour bakery! Will definitely be back sometime to try their other drinks! read more

I came in on a Sunday and the vibe was such a vibe here, with the interior art, and the phin lab/bar. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and the girl helped me order my drink to my liking. I got the ube iced coffee, with just one shot of espresso since I can handle very little caffeine, and of course I asked for it not too sweet. It was made perfectly, and the ube milk was so delicious. My husband got the Hot Fat Miilk Signature, and it was perfect for him. We also got to try the Iced Vanilla Latte with Sea Salt Cold Cream and that one was sooo yummy. While searching for coffee after a nearby meal, I stumbled upon this spot and lucky me, they had a happy hour special: 50% off coffee drinks Monday through Friday from 1-3 p.m. Since it was 1:30, I decided to give it a shot. I ordered an Americano and an egg coffee, though only the Americano was discounted. I didn't ask why, though I kind of wish I had. Both drinks were solid, but the egg coffee was the clear winner. That said, the Americano still hit the spot especially at half off! This place is small, and unfortunately, all the indoor seating was taken while I was there. But I took that as a good sign it usually means you're in the right place for coffee! Luckily, there's a bus stop outside with a bench, so I soaked up some sun while enjoying my drinks. We had the egg coffee and the ube matcha latte and both were delicious! The rich coffee flavor of the egg coffee was deep and layered. There's no actual eggy flavor, but the thick, foaminess of the drink comes from the egg. There's ube matcha was a beautiful green and purple (until I shook and mixed it up) and the flavor was a perfect sweet, ube forward flavor. It's not very matcha-y but you can tell the slight bitterness and fresh flavor comes from the matcha. You really need to mix up the drink, otherwise there is a clear divide in flavor between the matcha on top and the sweet ube milk below. I ordered a simple coffee from Fat Miilk on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11 am. It wasn't busy during this time. One thing that really caught my eye about this establishment was the interior design. I thought the coffee shop had such a nice aesthetic with its black walls and fixtures. The white mural of the lady in the straw hat added a nice contrast to the overall black aesthetics. I just had a simple Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. It had a nice bold flavor and the condensed milk gave the coffee some richness that you can't really achieve with traditional creamer. I don't typically drink Vietnamese iced coffee even as a Vietnamese-American myself because I think most places that sell it make it too unbalanced. However, this Fat Miilk's Vietnamese iced coffee had just the right amount of creaminess from the condensed milk and richness of the coffee. Service was great. I commend the barista for concocting such a well-crafted iced coffee. read more

Fat Miilk is a must for coffee connoisseurs since you rarely see Vietnamese tea by different individual beans. It will also remind you why that is. Vietnamese coffee without sugary fun milks is not the best. I was mostly disappointed by the space though. I had been expecting to be able to set up shop and work for a while, but there are no tables and the only seating is awkwardly arranged directly in front of the awkward staff. I did not have a good time looking around for the hidden menu and then being stared at by 6 20 year olds while I read it. I will be back to try more, but my original high expectations based on its reputation turned out to be fairly off. read more

Cute coffee shop by Argyle that has a variety of different coffees. It is a little pricey for coffee but it's nice to offer some different options. Based on one visit. This place specializes in Vietnamese coffee using the Phin (tin coffee drip container). The coffee is brewed drip style indirectly: There is a large area with a trough where very large Phins are used to make the coffee by hand. Then the coffee is transported to the counter where it is distributed. See pictures. I make this style of Coffee at the office sometimes. I usually don't use condense ed milk which is the norm. I was skeptical and ordered an iced phin with condensed milk. It was really good. Note that this style of coffee is quite strong. But I love strong coffee. They also have other drinks including brewed coffee, Americanos, Cappuccino's, teas etc. the place has a big city masculine vibe. The seats are not that comfortable at least for me noting I am 5'10. Very friendly service from three people I interacted with. I really felt welcomed. Big plus noting this is just one visit. Definitely worth a try. read more
