[[HIGHLIGHT]]Drove by here several times but haven't stopped in, the place looks massive and cool from the outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband and I strolled over on a Sunday morning to check it out and the place was pleasantly buzzing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While waiting to place our order I scoped out the pastry / treats selection and was tempted by the glazed banana bread. We ordered a drip coffee and iced dirty chai. Both drinks came out quickly and with a chocolate square surprise! The banana bread paired wonderfully with the chai and was actually quite filling for the size. Can't wait to come back, think this is now our top neighborhood coffee shop!

Excellent coffee! Bold and flavorful! The barista did a fabulous job making my latte. Oftentimes at cafes you find just foamy bubbles but here they know how to steam and blend plant based milks as well as create latte art. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has an industrial decor but you can get cozy in their seating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't wait to go back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Really cool spot in a big warehouse type of building in Logan square![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I loved that they have machinery that makes the coffee here at this location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot also offers plenty of work space for people who want to bring in their laptop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The coffee menu is straight forward and there's options for snacks and food. I had a simple iced coffee with sugar free vanilla and it was great. You can also scoop your own bag of coffee beans and take it for home as well. Cool spot with great drinks overall!

My sister went here today and got me a coffee to go! I just asked her to get me any kind of sun seasonal cold brew drink or just a plain cold brew! They had a cherry San pellegrino almond cold brew, but they said they were out of cherry so they made it with lemon instead. Which was great because I love lemon! It was super refreshing but I wished that it had a little less of the sparkling water in it. It was really good though and I would get a coffee from here again next time I'm in town!

A pretty cool location with plenty of seating, both inside and outside. They also roast their coffee here as half of the space is allocated to the machinery. It has this interesting fishbowl area with outlets then seating around it. The staff was friendly and helped explain some of their specialty drinks, but I ended up going with the Caffè Latte iced which was good.

Cafe Umbria is serious about their coffee! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great interior space with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a section dedicated to their coffee beans which is really awesome. Friendly staff with very good lattes! Pro Tip: when you receive your coffee they also give you a cafe Umbria chocolate. Nice touch!

Came here for a quick cup of coffee. The building is huge and very spacious inside. The staff was very friendly and it didn't take long to get our coffee. My wife ordered their Cappuccino Al Cacao and I ordered their Caffe Marocchino. Both were pretty good. It tasted very similar to a mocha but a little bit stronger. Wouldn't hesitate returning.

I've driven by here many times and didn't even know it was a coffee shop! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's pretty cool inside, lots of bold colors and industrial ish design.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's free street parking, free wifi, and a free piece of chocolate with your drink. I had the honey oat milk latte which came out very quickly and was brought to me at the table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the little glass cube with lots of seating which has outlets all along the floor![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also neat to see their coffee bean machines.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Overall Thoughts: I liked the vibes of this spot-- very industrial, yet comfortable. The coffee menu is expansive and a bit intimidating at first, but you can't really go wrong and nothing is too expensive. I ordered a Niccoiola Freddo, which I found pretty tasty, frothy, and had a nice balance of sweetness. I also tried a cherry danish, which I thought was just okay-- not as good as I was hoping. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.3/5 Drinks/Food: 4.3/5 Ambience: 4.7/5 Service: 4.7/5 Overall Value: 4.3/5

Had a great takeout experience! Staff was kind and friendly when I asked them to explain the pastries in the window. Had a couple customers coming in and out on a Wednesday morning before work. Cool interior where you can see coffee beans being processed. Decent amount of seating indoors, a few outside. I ordered brewed coffee and it tasted fine, as expected. The almond croissant was MASSIVE. It had beautiful layers and an ample amount of almond paste. I just wish there wasn't so much powdered sugar on top. Great coffee shop in the neighborhood and would return!

Love this coffee spot! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is very spacious[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the coffee is amazing - every single time. The chocolate on top makes it even more special.

Wanted to love it but.... Poorly mixed matcha & it tasted like straight oat milk. Specifically had asked for more concentrated too lol. And this was somehow $9.50??? Will not be returning :(

I've found Caffe Umbria to be very inconsistent after a number of visits. I love their beans, especially the Mezzanotte decaf blend. It may be my favorite decaf blend to make at home. The coffees in the cafe vary wildly depending on the barista, however. I've had excellent espressos and Americanos, as good as I can make with Umbria's beans, and I've also had over-extracted or very watery drinks. The service generally seems to be somewhat unfriendly in my experience as well.

My new favorite coffee shop... ever?? It was so good I managed to fit it in TWICE in a short trip…read more And have NOT shut up about it since I came back!! Military latte ($7.25)-- matcha and espresso mixed together with milk I don't know what sorcery they put in this but it's SO GOOD!! like matcha and espresso had a baby idk but they kept all the good parts of each other and balance each other out. For example, the matchy isn't earthy or chalky like some places or fake like the Starbucks one. The espresso isn't sour or burnt. And somehow when you combine both of them it's this perfect mellow blend but has the slight bitterness of both matcha/espresso where you're like "ah yes it's not just milk" that flavor really pulls through. But again it's mellow and blends together sooooo well like perfect mesh my goodness. Doesn't overpower doesn't feel like you're drinking matcha and coffee at the same time. It just becomes like a new thing altogether and that thing is glorious. The first time I got it iced (and the black camo latte hot) and all I could think about was how much better it would be hot.... So I had to come back for it !! And it ISSSS better hot. I enjoy hot lattes the hot milk and lack of ice is smoother and blends it together better or something. Obviously the iced version wasn't bad because I still had a great time... but when I came back for the second time and got it hot like YESSS THIS IS IT !!! Black camo latte ($7.25)-- same as Military but instead of matcha it's hojicha mixed with espresso! I took sips of this (as opposed to it being my own drink) and thought it was good! Really depends on if you like the taste of matcha or hojicha more. This one is deeper and richer, more earthy. Maybe even caramelized roast kinda flavor? Buuuut I know hojicha isn't for everyone so take it with a grain of salt. The combo with espresso is magical though like whatever ratio they're using is so perfect. It really blends together so well. ANDDDD here the coffee:milk ratio is so good!! No milky watered down lattes! I'm so used to having to add espresso shots or asking for less milk because coffee shops really be wildin in this economy but this place has a good ratio! Like yes wow we still have good things I love this for us. Matcha lemonade ($7)-- So absurdly sour I took one sip and that was enough for me!!! You really have to be a lemonade person like if that's your drink of choice to quench your thirst on a hot day then this is for you!! If you don't drink lemonade on the regular then I really wouldn't bother. I think this is a collab with a charity or something? Up your vitamin C for a good cause I guess. Cortado ($4.50)-- Espresso and milk, small cup, good test of their espresso and yesssss it passes with flying colors. And again, this place has their milk ratio down to a science. Perfectly balanced, not too much milk and you still taste all the coffee. Love love loveeeeee this place and would absolutely love an LA location. Until then, guess I'll have to plan another Chicago trip to get this goodness again !!!

I think Sawada is a little more overhyped than I would've liked…read more The Military Latte was pretty good, and I really appreciated that they offered macadamia milk! That said, the matcha itself wasn't necessarily the best matcha I've ever had. I think there was just too much milk in the drink, so I couldn't really enjoy the matcha and hojicha notes. It was enjoyable, but not memorable enough to justify all the hype - or the price. I really liked the ambiance, and the baristas were genuinely kind. They were also very willing to adjust or remake a drink when needed, which I appreciated. Overall, it's a cute spot with great service, but I genuinely cannot accept the price-to-drink ratio. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think it lived up to the hype.
