Such an amazing Latina owned coffee shop! The atmosphere is super relaxing and perfect for getting work done or catching up with friends. There's plenty of seating and I noticed outlets available so you can charge your laptop while you work. My girlfriend ordered the Pumpkin Cheesecake Latte and I got the Cookie and Screams. Both seasonal drinks and both absolutely delicious! I'd 100% come back!

This roastary is a standout business in this neighborhood. The interior is bright and inviting. I love that they have a room for the roaster that you can see from the counter. They have impressive machines behind the counter, and the latte that I had was respectable. A bonus was the beignets. The staff were great and I enjoyed the conversation. I would definitely return if in the area.

Tried the two Valentine's Day special Lattes, both were very good. The barista was very pleasant when we walked in. The cafe has a quiet atmosphere where you can sit down and do some office work/schoolwork.

Drink review only - Walking into this cafe is like going into another universe. It feels almost like a spa inside. I originally wanted to try the coconut lavender latte from their menu but unfortunately they were out of the coconut. I opted for a matcha latte with lavender instead. The drink was okay. The matcha tasted metallic so I couldn't finish the drink. I don't think I'll order that again but I would like to try the other drinks and food items.

Coconut lavender latte is delicious! The interior color scheme with all of its neutral, matte vibes make for a very relaxing environment. Their merch is so cute too - soft "Chisme and Cafecito" shirts and Tasa sweatshirts in neutral tones as well.

Came for a chicas y cafecito meet up on a snowy Sunday morning. The place is super pretty with a lot of seating options. I went with the xmas cookie latte and it was pretty perfect. It definitely began to pick up so there was a line, and limited seats.

This is an awesome cafe. The vibe is awesome, the staff are friendly, and it's always busy with customers because it's so good. I went on a saturday morning with my sister for some coffee and brunch. They happened to be doing a "pictures with santa" event when we got there which was a funny surprise. We ordered the chorizo avocado toast with egg, which was delicious. They didn't hold back on anything, and there was plenty of chorizo and avocado. We also split the beignets, which came with twelve delicious bite size beignets, enough to take some home. I also tried the lavender coconut latte, which was super delicious with a very natural flavor. Clearly, this place puts a lot of effort into making top quality food and drinks. They are passionate about giving the customers a great culinary experience, in a very chill setting for excellent prices. I would totally come back!

A friend and I decided to hit the Humboldt Park area (Western/Division) and take in some Borinqueña atmosphere and sights. After walking up and down Division Street awhile we stumbled upon Papa's Cache Sabroso. The place was jumping! The weather was amazingly gorgeous and outdoor seating was packed. There was a line for seating and takeout. The friendly host was doing an amazing job of keeping it all organized. We chose takeout and ordered a steak Jibarito con arroz y gandules and a side order of plátano maduro all totaling $22.27. As another reviewer noted it is a tad pricey but not overly so. It took about 20+ minutes to get the food...but like their sign states, something on the order of, "this is not a fast food place and good food takes time, please be patient". The Jibarito tasted good overall like other Jibaritos I've had in the past, however my friend commented that although the steak was flavorful, it was a tad chewy and I would slightly agree. The mayo, tomato and garlic kind of brings it all together for me, but I would've liked way more garlic...and there was even a small container of garlic "sauce", but it was very light on the mashed garlic paste. Whenever I dipped my plátano maduro, I couldn't get any pieces of garlic on until most of the olive oil was gone. The rice was standard and flavorful and I really did enjoy the plátano maduro. I would probably return to try the garlic chicken.

We ended up trying several of their cocktails and there were no misses for us. Imagine our surprise when we found out La Licor does happy hour! You definitely need a reservation after 6:30pm as it got pretty crowded but the bar was empty. The restaurant was not too loud, the tables were very uncomfortable to sit at due to the center of the table being a wooden stump like object. Which made it hard to push your seat in, and the table was wobbly. They also turn the lights off mostly, which actually makes for a great vibe. Other than the uncomfortable seats and tables. They have a lot of drinks, specifically cocktails with unique flavor profiles, using green peppers and corn in drinks. I started with trying the two frozen beverages one was a ginger drink and the other was a sweet milky corn beverage, both unique, not for me. But it was so nice they allowed us to try them. We got the empanada trio (beef, chicken, and veggie). The veggie was very corn forward, almost only corn and some spices. If you love corn you'd love the food and drinks. We also got chorizo arepas which were tasty, but the sliced chorizo didn't seem to match the bite of the arepas. It may have made more sense to have had crumbling chorizo on the arepas. And finally we had the yuca fries, which case with a thick sauce and cojita cheese. They were very good. I asked for a side of hot sauce, it was a mild sauce but it was good. Seemingly homemade. The service was okay, it took a while to get a drink, then to actually get the drink took a long time, and then trying to order and leave took a while. It wasn't a bad experience. This place was featured on the travel network as a must try. If you want to try something new, love corn, definitely recommend.

The food was ok, or so-so...which is bad considering their history. The lechón was mediocre, no seasoning (before you could see it on there.) now it looks like chicken or turkey. The alcapurrias were super greasy, hollow (?) and flavorless. Alcapurrias should be more substantial, not super soft like these. The rice was ok, but again it had no authentic flavor. The pastelillos (ground beef empanadas) were thin and dry. They may have been from yesterday. The passion fruit juice (parcha) is still delicious and the only good thing I had, besides Coco Rico soda. They must have new owners trying to mimic old recipes because this was our second chance attempt. We will now go to La Bomba, Jibaritos y Más or Las Palmas when they open.

She's Mexican but told me about this place. She said there are several food trucks stationed in Humboldt Park, yet this one is her favorite. I believe I had Puerto Rican food before when I was out and about in the city, though I never paid attention to any aromatic mobile vehicle in this neighborhood. Umm...Rosa J., did I not tell you to stay vigilant? Fortunately I had some cash on hand. I scrambled $7 for an order of bistec mixta, which came with arroz. Wow, the rice was SO fresh, and the steak was easy to chew and flavorful. When the young lady was preparing for my food, I was staring at a copious amount of "frituras." They smelled heavenly and were definitely soliciting my taste bud. Well, I gotta get back to work. Fried food doesn't mesh too well with my working stomach. Surely we will meet each other again when I have a day off. I didn't see any credit card machine inside the truck, so I have no doubt it is cash-only. I didn't really notice if their hours were posted on the exterior. I bet it depends based on weather or seasonality.
