    Steak jibarito

Cozy mom and pop type restaurant that was busy during dinner rush. Even though it was crowded and the wait time was a little longer than expected, the food was well worth it! My first time trying jibarito and I'll definitely be returning.

I placed an order three Steak Jibaritos online. The pickup process was pretty easy, just had to wait in line while other people ordered their food in front of me. The Jibaritos themselves were good. A little overpriced but still a decent menu. My only issue with them was the lack of garlic on top. I ordered two out of three with arroz con gandules for $2.50 more. The rice was pretty good definitely not the best I've had. Not exactly sure if I'd return anytime soon. $16.50 for Jibarito with rice is a tad bit much. I got my usually spot that tastes a lot better for a lot cheaper as well. Won't rule this place out, but I have my spot already.

If I could rate Papa's Cache Sabroso a 6 I would. Everything from the food to the service was great. Got here right at open. My friend and I were well attended and given space as we were catching up. More customers came in after an hour or two and by the time we left the restaurant was packed. Very cozy, nice local Puerto Rican restaurant. Have been craving to come back after since I left.

I had a great experience eating here while visiting Chicago. It is a very small place but thankfully there were open tables on a Monday evening. The wait staff were attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious- I had the bistec encebollado. The tostones were so magically garlicky that I'm still dreaming about them. It was great. I wish they had more variety on their menu but I understand it's a smaller restaurant.

There is metered street parking in front of the restaurant. You walk up to a large outside patio and there is a smaller inside eating area. It is a little dark on the interior but the warmth from the service, the amazing food and cheer of other patrons makes up for it. The owner was lovely and the service was excellent. I enjoyed every bit. The portion size is large so you definitely won't leave hungry. I got the rotisserie chicken with white rice and beans and yuca. The garlic sauces was yummy and the spicy sauce had just enough kick. I was just sad I couldn't finish all my food. Definitely worth dropping in and checking out.

Chicken taco 10/10! Seasoned to perfection and the hot sauce gives it a nice kick! Jabarito was good but the chicken was a little bit salty!

Very memorable visit. It has a true mom-and-pop shop feel -- quaint, cozy, and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. The jibaritos were the best I've had, with perfectly balanced flavors. Service was great.

Casual Puertorican cuisine in a neighborhood vibe. Thier specialty is the rotisserie chicken for its Great flavor and spice. If you happen to be in Humboldt park you must stop by. Try thier hibaritos, the rotisserie chicken is a must.

We did a catering order from Papa Cache for lunch and we all loved it. The chicken was so flavorful and the rice was bomb! Everything came so fresh. Would definitely go back and try at the restaurant. From what we tried, we would highly recommend!

I picked up dinner after 8 pm on a Monday evening. i wanted to try Chicago special Jibarito, and this was the only place I could find open after 8. I went with a steak jibarito. It was excellent. Fried plantains on the side was good as well.

In the world of Puerto Rican cuisine Papa stands up to the best. I stopped in the old neighborhood for a quick bite and was drawn in to Papa's. It's not hard to do. Been here many times because it's tried and true. He's been around on Division street about 25 years and is usually around in the restaurant to meet and greet. The service is excellent with Johnny knowing the menu the neighborhood regulars and knows how to treat newcomers and walk them through the menu. I usually go family style with a friend for a whole chicken, arroz y gandules, and Yuca En Escabeche , yucca with onions, simple but insanely delicious. Now their chicken is off the hook. No one had chicken like this. Lightly spiced broasted to perfection. There's plenty of other menu options to choose from. Their Lechon Asado on Saturdays only is some of the best around. There's also plenty of outside seating so try Papa's out to get a true taste for Humboldt Park.

I LOVE Jibarito's! This was my first one and immediately I fell in love with them! If you're visiting, I'd recommend trying these! I preferred the chicken Jibarito. The restaurant is small and is more of a spot for a quick bite. Service was great and fast.

I was not a huge fan of the fried pork belly.. it was like I liked it bc I was hungry but I didn't like it enough to come back and order it again.. I think it was the seasoning and it was overly salty for me... besides that it was cooked to perfection. We were greeted with a smile and guided to choose our own table. A basket of bread and butter was brought over promptly. I ordered appetizers, tostones rellenos de lechón and carne frita. They came out at the same time as the entrees. It only took about 10 minutes! We ordered a volcan with steak in red sauce (mofongo relleno de bistec en salsa), breaded chicken breast and lechón with arroz con gandules. The food was spectacular! Everything was very well seasoned and reminded me of home (born and raised in PR, moved here as an adult). I would definitely recommend that anyone come here for authentic Puerto Rican food. Be mindful that they are very generous with their portion sizes. We ended up taking about half of it home. There are worse problems one can have. :-)
