This is a solid 4 . A limited menu, no baked goods but a solid number of options. I do hope they get some Croissants or local Baked goods in the future. I ordered a plain latte and my husband got the coquito. There's a spiciness to this coffee that comes through at first sip and then it dissipates. I appreciated the latte art in my drink. Not sure If the roast is a lighter or medium roast but expect a lighter mouthfeel on this coffee. My husband's drink was, in true coquito form, quite coconut forward. It was very good though I prefer a less sweet drink. He is a fan of more sweet iced drinks and he enjoyed it. The space is in a warehouse in Hermosa. There's artist spaces which I don't think are open to the public but still cool to be around. The actual cafe is small and reminiscent of a cafeteria style or communal coworking space setting. Being in an industrial setting, you will get cold. Bring a sweater! Depending on the time, you'll either be listening to a cool chill music or the place next door will be testing their speakers so bring headphones too.

I visited here after I saw a video on social media promoting the cafe for remote work space. It's a coffee stall inside of an industrial building with various other businesses. I ordered the Creeper drink and I found a table with access to an outlet so I could work. The drink was okay - it's matcha with a light blueberry flavor. As I was working, I saw more people started coming in. There is wifi available but heads up, there is no food or snacks for purchase. I also ordered a coquito latte for myself and a coquito cold brew for my husband before I left. The latte is delicious and topped with what looked like a toasted coconut topping. I hope to go back but they close at 2pm which isn't ideal.

This coffee stand was such a cool find! It looks like this warehouse is a shared space for several businesses/ offices. There is lots of space to sit down and even work from after you get your drinks. The baristas were very friendly and answered all of our questions. The matcha I got was so delicious, it was so smooth and with the little vanilla syrup I requested, it was top-notch! Excited to go back and work from this super cool space.

Stopped by the recently opened Factotum Coffee located in 4200 Workspace. The lovely barista mentioned Factotum has been roasting beans for 3 years and opened a cafe within the past month, September 2023. My latte was made quickly and delicious! There was plenty of seating although I spent most of my time walking throughout the workspace peering into the different offices that include perfume making, custom signs and a distillery. Super cool space!

Love how it's such a quiet cafe and cool designs and interesting set up. Definitely a place to study or catch up with a friend. A lot of space too.

Great local spot! Ambiance 10/10. There were other small shops next to it that I have to check out. Coffee itself was surprisingly good, will come back again! There were seatings too if you want to do some work.

On a stretch of…read moreMilwaukee Avenue where the ghosts of industrial Chicago still linger in the brickwork, Magnifico Coffee Roasters stands as a temple to the unpretentious bean. It's a place that understands coffee isn't just a caffeine delivery system; it's a civic glue. The Table for Two: The air inside is thick--not with the cloying scent of flavored syrups, but with the honest, oily perfume of roasting. It's a scent that suggests work is being done. To the left, a freelancer in a worn Carhartt jacket stares intensely at a spreadsheet; to the right, two neighbors argue the merits of a local alderman over the hiss of the steam wand. The Vibe: Magnifico doesn't try too hard, which is exactly why it works. It's got that "living room for the neighborhood" energy that money can't buy and interior designers usually ruin. The community here isn't a demographic; it's a cross-section of the city. It's Avondale in a ceramic mug--scrappy, diverse, and deeply authentic. The Brew: We aren't talking about "notes of blueberry and sunshine." We're talking about coffee that tastes like the earth it came from, treated with the kind of respect usually reserved for vintage motorcycles. The Pour-Over: A masterclass in patience. Clear, bright, and unapologetic. The Espresso: A short, sharp shock to the system. It's visceral. It's the kind of shot that makes you want to go out and do something--or at least walk another twenty blocks. "In a world of hyper-sanitized, 'aesthetic-first' cafes, Magnifico is a reminder of what the coffee house used to be: a place to sit, to linger, and to remember that the person next to you is probably just as caffeinated and confused as you are." The Verdict You don't come here for a curated Instagram backdrop. You come here because you want a cup of coffee that has a soul. You come here because the barista actually knows the name of the guy in the corner. In the grand, sprawling theater of Chicago's coffee scene, Magnifico is the gritty, beautiful indie production that outshines the blockbusters every single time.

The establishment has a chill atmosphere and the owner was so incredibly friendly. Even though we were out of town, we were immediately invited to a small event they were having the next day and asked about our days in a manner that reflected genuine interest. I wish this could be my local coffee shop, you're so lucky if this is! Their unique offering was a wonderful selection of coffee and a delicious array of Colombian pastries. We ordered an empanada, a churro donut, almojabana, and the pan de bono. I'm vegetarian so I was very happy to see such a wide number of options for me! The churro donut was delicious and cinnamony - if you like sweet breakfasts, definitely get this! I really enjoyed the almojabana and the pan de bono. I liked the pan de bono so much, I even took a picture of the crumb to share with my mother, who is Colombian! Truly, I could have eaten 5 of the pan de bono because they tasted just like the homemade one's my abuela would make when she visited.

There is street parking but no seating except for a small bench outside. It was hot outside so I wanted a cold drink, so I went with their Chocolate and Pistachio Iced Coffee. Unfortunately, this wasn't it for me. I couldn't even taste the chocolate and pistachio...it was like garnish on the cup more than anything. I tasted the espresso shots briefly but it was all milk afterwards. Since I got there in the afternoon, I decided on their Breakfast Sandwich for a late lunch. This one hit the spot for me! Bacon, soft scrambled eggs, caramelized onions and sriracha...delicious! For my pastry, I chose the Guava Cheese Bread. It's like a bigger and denser version of pao de queijo. Really liked how the tartness of the guava jam complimented the savoriness of the bread. A little bummed the drink wasn't a home run for me because that's mostly the reason I came but I'll give it another chance! Also, it's a dog friendly place so that's always a plus for me!
