Outdoor walk-up window only! No dine-in or even indoor standing room. That's just to clarify expectations this is not a coffee shop / cafe but roaster and take out window. I couldn't tell from Yelp listing and then drove across town hoping to sit and discovered you can't. Some photos showing chairs are apparently very old and no longer accurate. Feels like the "covid order window" a lot of places did for a while went permanent here. Drip coffee was very good--he served a medium roast Guatemalan from an airpot. I wouldn't give it mind-blowing reviews like some others here but definitely full top-tier coffee shop quality with medium body and a touch of chocolate. read more

What a great neighborhood staple! It's affordably priced for cold brew and hot coffee, and has great pastries (particularly their donuts). If you want an alternative milk splashed in they don't charge you either. They also have bags of coffee to purchase and will grind it however you need it to be. The walk-up is always quick too! Their coffee is so on point. It has such a nice aroma when you grind the beans. Prefer their dark roast over there medium roast but the medium roast taste fine too. If they are ever closed they sell their coffee at harvest time grocery store on Lawrence Avenue. I have been a fake coffee fan all 28 years of my life. I've wanted to like it but really all of my "coffee" over the years has been a solid mix of cream and sugar with some coffee thrown in. More and more I have used less of the mix-ins but each time I try coffee (hot or cold), I can't imagine drinking it as is. This is the coffee that changed that whole experience. I took my cup, took a sip, and threw a top on that bad boy! This cup of cold brew has no chance of getting watered down. It won't be sitting on my desk till I decide to throw it away. I'm writing this review not even five minutes after getting this delicious cup of happy goodness. I'm not too big of a reviewer, but these guys, they are WORTH IT. 10/5 stars. An absolute must buy. The simplest of coffee shops. Your options are hot or cold. No lattes. No mochachino frapperino. Coffee. And some donuts. This is, I believe, a sort of side business to the coffee roasting business. I received a bag as a housewarming gift and it smells wonderful! The proprietor is an upbeat and friendly guy. They also host little neighborhood things like sing-a-longs for kids. They sell coffee. They sell ONLY coffee. No tea. No fancy espresso or whatever. Don't ask for latte this or machiatto that. They have iced coffee, and they have hot coffee. They also have coffee beans. That's what they're about. Coffee. With that said, it's good coffee, and the owner isn't a pretentious turd about it. You ask him for coffee, he gives you coffee, you give him money, and everyone has a pleasant day. There's also free wifi. Four stars instead of five because the hours are nuts (they're open mornings only, four days per week), and seating is limited. Not much of a hang-out; more of a grab-and-go place. Eh - it's fine. Unfortunately, the lack of seating and table space is a real problem for anybody that wants to work in here, and the lack of air conditioning makes the space pretty uncomfortable on hot days. The pared down options are an interesting MO (and certainly could contribute to the mood of the space), and the coffee is pretty good, but the lack of options make me consider other places for grabbing breakfast and coffee to go. I do wish they offered espresso drinks. The staff seems very friendly and pretty knowledgeable, but not totally confident in their knowledge. I'm happy to have this place close to me (not a ton of coffee in the area) but unfortunately it doesn't offer what I need in a coffee shop. read more

Finding I was out of beans one morning I walk(ed) in cold on this spot a few months ago and am so glad I did. I've now tried three non-decaf roast/bean options and honestly can't decide which I like the best. The owner is super cool and I love that the menu, such as it is, is quite focused. As a service industry vet I know that a smaller menu means someone does what they do quite well and doesn't need to futz around with a bunch of distractions. I'm thrilled Brü Coffeeworks is in the neighborhood and, at this point, it'd feel like treason to go anywhere else. read more

Fantastic little hole in the wall kind of space! Interior is hipster, the hours make absolutely 0 sense, and there's only 3 options on the menu: hot coffee for $2, $3 for cold, and $3 of 16 oz of more coffee! Seating isn't big but it's cozy. The owner is friendly and super chill. Convenient place to chill while your car is being worked on. For those that complain about hours, the main profit of this business comes from whole sale: the coffee sales is just icing on top and something the owner genuinely enjoys doing - roasting and making coffee. I didn't realize how badly I needed a place to get my brewed coffee fix on my way to work until this place opened. Excellent coffee, fast service and I can buy beans for the days that I manage to make coffee at my own place in the morning. A great bonus is that Cory has donuts from the Golden Grain Bakery on Lawrence and Kimball. I'm not a donut expert but they make a pretty solid chocolate glazed donut. read more

This coffee is so tasty you don't need any cream or sugar. I bru a cup at home and then still usually find my way into the store for a cup on my way to the office (partially just to hang out). Cory is the Bloodhound of the coffee industry using his super senses of smell and sound to roast some insane beans. I like to create my own hybrid blend at home. Currently I'm working with a Honduran / Costa Rican (pura vida!) hybrid I like to call the Black Mamba. Brü is a game changer if you like to wake up in the morning to some bomb coffee. read more
