Boki's Tea House is a newer bubble tea place that opened right across from the North Park University campus - the menu offers milk teas, milk foams, fruit teas, flavored yakults, Vietnamese coffee, caffeine-free beverages (such as lemonades), as well as various toppings to add to your drinks. We came here in the early evening, and we ordered: +the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea - this was milky and cream, and the preferred out of the three +the Peach Orange Lemongrass Tea - tea was not strong as it needed to be and needed to be steeped longer; really wasn't able to taste the peach and the orange flavors, and the drink tasted diluted +and, the Kumquat Black Tea - tea was not as strong as it needed to be as it needed to be steeped longer; couldn't taste the kumquat, and the drink tasted diluted Staff were very friendly and kind, and the place itself is bright and minimalistic - there were a good number of handful of seating inside. Their corgi logo is super cute! Limited street parking available in the area. +friendly service +limited street parking available

Afternoon boba break? Absolutely! This place was everything I look for when craving some milk tea. The sweetness level was perfect and consistent.

Update: i came in to get a jasmine milk tea with boba and a taro milk tea with taro paste and crystal boba. The taro drink was solid all around, but the boba in the jasmine tea wasn't great. I've had the boba before, and it was good before. But this time I came in, my boba was tough and dense. The place was empty and quiet, and I liked that they weren't playing music too loud. I was able to read and get some work done. I haven't had a consistent experience with the boba so far. It's been hit or miss :(

We were in the area for a reception and just had to get a post-wedding boba. Boki's was just the place for a refreshing drink. We only got a single drink as we were stuffed from the lunch buffet we just had. Oolong Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Regular Ice w/ Boba ($6.25) - This was pre-brewed oolong tea that retained a the classic roasted tea flavor. The sweetness level at 50% was appropriate for us - it let the tea flavor dominate while still retaining a creamy sweetness. The boba was appropriately syrup soaked and had a good texture. It was perhaps a bit firmer than I usually like throughout. They leave quite a bit of a gap in the drink - it's not filled to the brim. It's a solid drink in general. I'm not in this area very often, so I can't say if there are better boba places nearby. At any rate, I think Boki's is worth a visit if you're in the area.

They added more items to the menu and increased the price slightly. Everything tasted good.

This review is based on our first visit to the shop. This shop is relatively new. It is clean, spacious and have good amount of seating for those who wants to come and do a little studying. We ordered roasted oolong milk tea with 50% sugar and black tea kilter with 75% sweet. The roasted oolong was perfect-good level of sweetness and nice blend of milk and tea flavor. However, the black tea is a little sweeter but it is still good for those who like their boba tea on the sweeter side. Definitely have to come back and try out their fruit tea drink and yea they have decaffeinated drinks too.

The tea is good don't get me wrong... however their pricing doesn't make sense. I asked for a large with no ice and they give me half a cup I asked "u guys don't fill it? " he said "no u would have to pay for 2 drinks" It's a milk tea all you have to do is add more milk and if I'm paying 7$ for a half a cup ADD MORE MILK!.. I asked for boba and they didn't add it. So they gave me a cup with boba. So -I have to open the plastic to pour it in? Honestly u can get tea somewhere else for cheaper and not stingy on milk.. Since their response update: If you have audio you can hear them say that I would have to buy Another drink to fill it up. I had repeated TWICE that I wanted boba. I understand a misunderstanding with new staff but bottom line I asked for boba twice and he did say that I would have to pay for another drink, nothing about a 2$ charge. As well as being busy u can see from the photo there is not a lot of people in there.

Let me start by saying the drinks are unique and yummy for the most part. The interior is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Most of the staff is polite and pays attention to details from your order. There are unfortunately a few bad apples in the bunch who seem to have more concern in faltering their egos rather than giving the business a good reputation. I do not come to pay for attitude. No customer should be made to feel rushed, unwelcome or like they are silly for asking questions about the drinks. For the price the drinks are they are mostly ice which cannot really be adjusted so that's a bummer. I also do not recommend the cream brûlée topping as it has varied consistencies and can upset the stomach when the drink is made incorrectly. Otherwise the selection is very original and most of the employees are friendly and make the drinks well. Management, please take note and make the necessary adjustments.

    A great volunteer boba!

A great Taro latte with a great crew from NEIU student pantry. Add the Boba it's worth it.

I loved my visit to Boki's Tea House! I ordered the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea with Cream Brûlée--because the longest thing on the menu has to be the most delicious, right? (Oh, it was!) The barista whipped out a kitchen torch and toasted the top of the drink! It was amazing--it added a little smokiness and perfect caramelization to the drink. There's an option to add cream brûlée to the other drinks, too. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other flavors. The inside is super cute. I loved the taller tables and mirrors, and the inside was so bright. I brought some study materials and the shop was busy but not too noisy to read. There's also a to-go option for the drinks. The shop is in the block between Starbucks and a daycare. The sign is a little small and hard to read. There's paid street parking on both sides in front of the shop, but you might also find free parking around the corner on Sawyer.

On the left Jasmine milk tea with crème brûlée topping, and Longon lychee black tea with lychee jelly.

This is a new spot in the north park neighborhood. It is so delicious for drinks!!! We've been here almost everyday since it's grand opening on March 1st. This place is yummy. So happy it's I. The area. Hope it stays around! We will definitely be back!

Great tea! They workers are also very kind and helpful! I wasn't sure what to order, but Hanna was very helpful in describing each drink. I highly recommend the Jasmine Milk Tea! You can actually taste the tea flavor and not artificial nonsense! You can also customize your sweetness level from 25% to 100% sweetness. If you want a little bit of sweetness, but still some savory goodness, I recommend 25%! The boba is also sweetened with brown sugar and honey which has another little kick of sweetness!

    Thai iced tea with tapioca
    Bryanna C.

This place is very cute and even offers board games for you to play if you're hanging out. This was my first time here AND my first time trying Thai iced tea, the flavor was okay and the tapioca could use more flavor. The drink costed around $7 and there was a bit of a wait for the tapioca but I waited because that's what I came for. Unfortunately, I had an allergic reaction to this drink, I don't have food allergies that I'm aware of so not sure what in the drink could've caused it and I couldn't finish it . Besides that, I hope to try something ELSE in the future when I'm in the area again.

It was pricey but enough for 2 people to share. Metered parking on a weekend evening was easy. My only complaint is that it had a strange, unpleasant smell inside (we were there in the evening during the weekend of April 25th). Also, when I came a few years ago, it had a really cozy, welcoming vibe packed with comfy couches. Now, it just looks like basic tables and plastic chairs, lacking comfort, character, and charm. I'm hoping to return to try the sweet potato latte and the other shaved ices, but I hope they do something about the smell and make the space feel more cozy and inviting.
