Total random stop for a drink and Top Tao Tea didn't disappoint! Had a Thai iced tea and my daughter got a Taro Tea with boba. Both yummy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quaint spot to hang out as well. It's decorated cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fine.

Brown Sugar Boba and Pandan Tea
    Anthony V.

Bought the pandan and brown sugar milk tea, both with tapioca boba. Both drinks tasted like watered down milk tea. Boba in the pandan was old and hard. Boba in the brown sugar was slightly soft and the drink had a hint of brown sugar but still tasted like straight up watered down milk tea.

i got the oreo drink and my bf got the mango slush and they were okay. I didn't like that the oreo one didn't come with tea and i basically paid $6-7 for oreo crumbs and milk, but it was good nonetheless. I enjoyed the mango slush better and it came in a cute heart shaped cup as well. i wouldn't recommend getting the oreo drink.

Always a great experience at this location! The people who work here are helpful. I've been at this location more times than I can count and I'm always pleased; so many options to order from and it's always delicious. They have two kiosks where you can self order and pay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In addition to a few places to sit, but the place is very small, always clean and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Avo Coconut Smoothie, Fruity Lover Tea, Roasted Oolong Tea

I had the roasted oolong tea with boba. The boba texture was great and the tea was perfectly sweet at 50% sweetness. My friend got the avo coconut smoothie at 25% sweetness. This drink is delicious and worth trying! I would get this one next time.

    Taro Milk Tea

Got the taro milk tea with brown sugar boba and it was delicious and creamy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is small but cute, with adorable places to take pictures and squishmallows to lounge with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast and nice.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cute spot to pick up your favorite Boba.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is whimsical with flowers all over the walls, ceiling, and chandeliers and cozy seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered three teas, all of which were very yummy. You can mix and match the different milks, control the amount of sugar you want, add more topping. Really customize it to how you want it. The menu shows all of the top teas however there is a kiosk that you can order from that has more tea options than what's on the main menu.

So good!!!! Reasonably priced, and came out quickly. I got the Taro Lover smoothie with tapioca and it was delicious. Some places are hit or miss with taro, but this place has it down. I also love the heart shaped cups! I would definitely come back here.

This is one of best boba places i've tried in Chicago. I have a pretty high standard since i'm from the bay area and i'd say this is pretty comparable. Kellen was so sweet to me when she took my order. I was a little confused with the types of toppings but she was able to answer them with such ease and expertise. My drinks were made so fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I literally was just going to chill in the booths for a bit but they were already done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Exactly what I needed today

Tao Special Tea (Assam) Coconut Milk with Dragonfruit
    Jordan F.

Somehow I hadn't tried this place yet despite it being pretty close to home. We got the dragonfruit and coconut milk drink and the Tao special. The dragonfruit and coconut milk drink was really good. It was primarily coconut milk and sometimes that can be overpowering, but it was light and pleasant. I do wish it had a little bit more dragonfruit in it though as that part wasn't very obvious. The Tao special wasn't anything special. The flavor was good, but it was really just an assam milk tea. With the name I assumed it would be something unique and interesting, but it was quite boring. Aside from the drinks, I ordered online for pickup. They weren't particularly fast, despite not being that busy when I got there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was cute with some very instagram-y decor if that's your thing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped by with friends after the Dim Sum and Drag show at Furama. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute and cozy place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered on a kiosk and only waited a short time. I enjoyed my drink and so did my friends. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We grabbed a table by the window and chatted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Steady business and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pretty decor for IG photos.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Some seating but not a big place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathroom in the back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would return.

Great boba spot in Uptown! Workers were friendly, easy ordering system, and our drinks came out timely. Boba was tasty and the cups our drinks came in were so cute! Pro tip: order 25%-50% sugar since these drinks do get sweet! They have a lot of seating (mostly booths) and an area with a pretty flower backdrop. There's some board games at the front of the place, so you can spend some time here!

Thai Milk Tea with boba and coffee jelly
    Nicki C.

Small shop but quick service! Order at the kiosk and drinks are ready in less than 10mins. Thai iced tea was delish, strong but sweet and creamy. Loved the boba and the coffee jelly. We also tried the fruity tea which was tasty and refreshing!

This particular visit was for the themed afternoon high tea called Tehle as old as time. The theme was obviously tied directly to Beauty and the beast while I was there I learned that the hotel has to pay licensing fees in order to utilize these themes. They have also previously done and/or will do in the future a Harry Potter theme as well. We did come on a weekday a Friday and you have to make the reservations ahead of time and something I did not appreciate. Was you also have to pay ahead of time and paying ahead of time also requires you pay an OpenTable fee as well as a set 20% service fee. Well, I do understand securing reservations. I do not understand paying all of this ahead of time for such a high class hotel. The service was absolutely incredible. The ambience was on par and very clean. We did get a table right next to the window which overlooked Wabash. The sandwiches and the sweets were more than plenty. And well worth the price. The tea was so incredibly fragrant and strong exactly as I like it. I would definitely come back here again and do this again even if they did have a different theme.

My new favorite coffee shop... ever?? It was so good I managed to fit it in TWICE in a short trip…read more And have NOT shut up about it since I came back!! Military latte ($7.25)-- matcha and espresso mixed together with milk I don't know what sorcery they put in this but it's SO GOOD!! like matcha and espresso had a baby idk but they kept all the good parts of each other and balance each other out. For example, the matchy isn't earthy or chalky like some places or fake like the Starbucks one. The espresso isn't sour or burnt. And somehow when you combine both of them it's this perfect mellow blend but has the slight bitterness of both matcha/espresso where you're like "ah yes it's not just milk" that flavor really pulls through. But again it's mellow and blends together sooooo well like perfect mesh my goodness. Doesn't overpower doesn't feel like you're drinking matcha and coffee at the same time. It just becomes like a new thing altogether and that thing is glorious. The first time I got it iced (and the black camo latte hot) and all I could think about was how much better it would be hot.... So I had to come back for it !! And it ISSSS better hot. I enjoy hot lattes the hot milk and lack of ice is smoother and blends it together better or something. Obviously the iced version wasn't bad because I still had a great time... but when I came back for the second time and got it hot like YESSS THIS IS IT !!! Black camo latte ($7.25)-- same as Military but instead of matcha it's hojicha mixed with espresso! I took sips of this (as opposed to it being my own drink) and thought it was good! Really depends on if you like the taste of matcha or hojicha more. This one is deeper and richer, more earthy. Maybe even caramelized roast kinda flavor? Buuuut I know hojicha isn't for everyone so take it with a grain of salt. The combo with espresso is magical though like whatever ratio they're using is so perfect. It really blends together so well. ANDDDD here the coffee:milk ratio is so good!! No milky watered down lattes! I'm so used to having to add espresso shots or asking for less milk because coffee shops really be wildin in this economy but this place has a good ratio! Like yes wow we still have good things I love this for us. Matcha lemonade ($7)-- So absurdly sour I took one sip and that was enough for me!!! You really have to be a lemonade person like if that's your drink of choice to quench your thirst on a hot day then this is for you!! If you don't drink lemonade on the regular then I really wouldn't bother. I think this is a collab with a charity or something? Up your vitamin C for a good cause I guess. Cortado ($4.50)-- Espresso and milk, small cup, good test of their espresso and yesssss it passes with flying colors. And again, this place has their milk ratio down to a science. Perfectly balanced, not too much milk and you still taste all the coffee. Love love loveeeeee this place and would absolutely love an LA location. Until then, guess I'll have to plan another Chicago trip to get this goodness again !!!

I think Sawada is a little more overhyped than I would've liked…read more The Military Latte was pretty good, and I really appreciated that they offered macadamia milk! That said, the matcha itself wasn't necessarily the best matcha I've ever had. I think there was just too much milk in the drink, so I couldn't really enjoy the matcha and hojicha notes. It was enjoyable, but not memorable enough to justify all the hype - or the price. I really liked the ambiance, and the baristas were genuinely kind. They were also very willing to adjust or remake a drink when needed, which I appreciated. Overall, it's a cute spot with great service, but I genuinely cannot accept the price-to-drink ratio. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think it lived up to the hype.
