BAMBU on North Broadway completely exceeded my expectations. From the outside it looks casual and…read moreunassuming, but once you step inside, there's a lively, colorful energy that instantly lifts your mood. It's the kind of place that feels welcoming whether you're meeting friends for a relaxed dinner or just stopping in because you're craving something flavorful and different. The menu is what really makes this place stand out. There's a creative mix of Vietnamese-inspired dishes and modern fusion options, and everything tastes intentional. The ingredients are fresh, the herbs are vibrant, and the flavors are layered without feeling heavy. I appreciated how balanced everything was -- nothing overly greasy or overwhelming, just clean, bright flavors that keep you going back for another bite. Even the presentation shows care, which adds to the overall experience. The drink selection is just as impressive. Whether you're in the mood for something refreshing and fruity or a more classic option, they've clearly put thought into crafting beverages that complement the food. It's not just an afterthought -- it's part of the experience. Service was another highlight. The staff were genuinely friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to offer recommendations when I asked. They checked in often enough to make sure everything was perfect but never hovered or rushed us. That balance is rare and really appreciated. Overall, BAMBU delivers more than just a meal -- it delivers a full experience. Great atmosphere, flavorful food, solid drinks, and attentive service. I'll absolutely be back, and I'll be bringing friends next time.

Prices are about $7-10 per drink. I really like #10 Bambu favorite: Coconut milk, pandan jelly, red tapioca, and grass jelly (and then I add coconut meat for an additional $10). My friend loves the pandan waffles and always wants to come here for it when she visits.

We had to take our shoes off to sit comfortably. I think we could've had tables too, but the wait would've been longer. If you have a large group, I would call first to see if they can accommodate you. All the staff here are so kind and friendly. I've been here twice total now, and both times the food has been excellent. I didn't realize this place was pescatarian the first time. I picked the mister grecco panini for the artichoke hearts: It was a little salty due to the olives, but it wasn't overwhelming. I really enjoyed the fresh side salad especially the honey mustard dressing. I would order this again, but there's so many other menu items I want to try too.

They have regular tables, and then there is a fun section where you can sit on the floor. Outdoor seating in the front and back too. The shop in the back is cool and has a nice variety of clothes, jewelry, books, and gifts. Lots of travel items to match the theme of the cafe. The desserts are homemade and so impressive! The pear Bundt cake was really moist and flavorful. I loved the peanut butter and chocolate pie that was vegan and gluten free and awesome. So delicious! The milkshakes are amazing! I had a boozy one and it was so smooth and easy to drink. They also have good cocktails. I enjoyed a margarita here. The coffees are fantastic! I loved my Thai iced coffee. The matchas are wonderful. I've had the matcha latte and the matcha freeze. I've loved everything I've had so far. Tasty bagels and eggs. The bagel and schmear hits the spot. Nice salads too. The pear and blue salad is delicious. The menu here is expansive and I look forward to coming back and trying new things. I definitely recommend coming here!

As a former retail worker, I often grumbled about being asked to 'bring merchandise forward,'…read moreconvinced that a single customer grab would ruin my efforts. However, older me realizes there's a point to it. When products aren't brought to the front, the shelves don't look good. This particular Whole Foods suffers from this so much that my slightly neurotic self started pulling merchandise to the front, even though, even though no one was paying me! I understand that not every aisle can have products pushed forward by springs, but here, it reached an absurd level. Moving on, while I don't fault this Whole Foods for being a smaller format stores, I can for them being poorly stocked. For example, there were a couple of days in a row when I wanted to buy a half-gallon of milk but they were out! I thought there might be a milk shortage, but there was no signage to indicate it. I wanted to ask someone what was going on, but no staff member was to be found. (By the way, I went to Aldi, and there was no milk shortage.) Speaking of staff, my interactions with their team have generally been positive. However, it can be hard to find someone. I won't get into the prices because one appreciates that Whole Foods isn't called "Whole Paycheck" for nothing. I know it's expensive, you know it's expensive, even my cat probably knows! So, what's the verdict? A store that is somewhat poorly stocked, appears messy, with staff that's a bit hit or miss. At these premium prices, I would hope for a more premium experience. What I'm left with instead is an experience that feels worse than what more competitively-priced retailers offer. It seems the main things Whole Foods has going for them are their specialty, healthier, or health-conscious items. They're also great for snacks!
