Tasty pastry, spacious, and the beverages are great. Staff change the vinyl and the choices/selections are great, maybe tune it a down a little bit? Great place to do work and catch up on some reading.

This was my favorite coffee shop of our visit! Such a cute shop and you can tell they care about serving you good coffee. Counter service was quick and we took our goodies out back to their little cute little ally/patio. The vanilla latte was smooth and perfectly sweetened. The cinnamon roll was soft and a little crispy where the cinnamon sugar mix came out of the pastry. I can definitely see why this is a neighborhood favorite.

This place is kind of small. It has an old time feel to it. It has a whole bunch of records and a record player that plays them. It's pretty cool. It feels like you are in back time. It's also by the train. I only had the cappuccino. It was good. Unfortunately I was unable to try any of their bakery and breakfast items because I went late at night and they were sold out. The lady who took the orders was nice. I'll need to go back during the day though so I can try their bakery/ breakfast items. There is no sign out in front, so you may miss the spot. Because, I sure did.

It was a quick visit:) I was walking home from Trader Joe's and got an urge for coffee to go from a new place. I actually walked passed place as there is no signage. Thank goodness I looked at all the yummy pics on Yelp and decided to make a U-turn. I finally noticed coffee drinkers sitting through the large tinted windows. The staff were laid back and way going. I got my iced vanilla latte quickly and I was out of there. It's a nice cozy place that has a shabby chic / art house vibe. I'll be back!

Super cute and quaint coffee shop right off the Brown line with records, great music, and nice staff. Also $10 for an iced americano and a gooood iced vanilla latte, so I'd say that's a win.

Amazing latte art! Gets very crowded quickly, even during the winter! They have strong wifi and lots of people stay a while to get some work or studying done! Very close to the Brown line Irving Park station and also has some street parking on the side streets. Love that it stays open late for those in need of a later night caffeine boost.

Ritual Coffeehouse is a quaint little place with top quality coffees and teas. I had the vanilla latte, fresh baked in-house wild berry peach muffin. I've had their fresh brewed coffee and it packed a nice punch! Not bitter but pleasingly smooth and a rounded out flavor. Service is fast here and Jacob helped us get our day going nicely. They also have a variety of bagels, mini pound cakes and delicious scones. The jalapeño cheddar scones are delicious. They are baking different items everyday. They have nice seating indoors and patio seating in the back. They are open everyday til 10pm too. It's a fun place to just relax and hangout. Once you visit, you'll make this your own coffee and tea ritual anytime of day!

Great coffee and tea. Easy street parking. Friendly staff. Free WiFi. It's a great late night spot to study or work.

I came back and got an oatmeal raisin cookie (looks like it's made with dried cranberries) and toffee latte. Both were great, and the server was super friendly. The place was pretty full on 3 p.m. on a Wednesday.

Ask the Community - Ritual Coffeehouse

Has anyone ever hurt themselves from tripping and/or falling from the floor transition, when entering into the establishment?

I've never seen anyone stumble over the door transition. I'm sure it's possible, but the door to get into the shop is a bit heavy which slows people down and makes them more careful when walking in.

The shop is sparsely decorated but seems to be a real staple in the community, which felt special to visit as an outsider. My friend and I both ordered egg and goat cheese bagel sandwiches. I ordered an iced lavender matcha and my friend ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches were made with boiled eggs, which felt extremely odd. The egg type was not clarified on the menu, but I feel like for a breakfast sandwich to include a boiled egg instead of a traditional fried or scrambled egg, that should be disclosed to customers with some sort of expectations. My friend said the cappuccino was "just like every other cappuccino I've ever had." The lavender matcha really just tasted like a regular matcha. It was good but not much lavender flavor! Our food also took a bit to come out, despite the coffee shop being empty (only one other person already dining when we came in) and what we ordered. It looked like there were only two workers. I personally wouldn't visit Sipping Turtle Cafe again, unfortunately. There are a lot of other great options around that satisfy me more.

The establishment has a chill atmosphere and the owner was so incredibly friendly. Even though we were out of town, we were immediately invited to a small event they were having the next day and asked about our days in a manner that reflected genuine interest. I wish this could be my local coffee shop, you're so lucky if this is! Their unique offering was a wonderful selection of coffee and a delicious array of Colombian pastries. We ordered an empanada, a churro donut, almojabana, and the pan de bono. I'm vegetarian so I was very happy to see such a wide number of options for me! The churro donut was delicious and cinnamony - if you like sweet breakfasts, definitely get this! I really enjoyed the almojabana and the pan de bono. I liked the pan de bono so much, I even took a picture of the crumb to share with my mother, who is Colombian! Truly, I could have eaten 5 of the pan de bono because they tasted just like the homemade one's my abuela would make when she visited.

I haven't tried their breakfast sandwich, because I'm not a big pork sausage person-- would love if they had more variations of a breakfast sandwich! You can also order a toasted english muffin that comes with fresh butter and a homemade jam.. it's so simple but addicting. I have had their Lox English Muffin a couple of times, and if you love Lox, it's GREAT. Really good balance of cream cheese/veggie/lox ratio.. though Lox is always so overpowering so it's most of what you're going to taste. If you are a quiche person, PLEASE try theirs. The creativity in their rotating flavors, and their perfect crust, are a must-try. It's soooo well done. Every pastry I've tried has been spectacular, from their almond blackberry croissant to the pistachio escargot, to their donuts.. I don't think you can go wrong. Their cinnamon roll is next on my list.. but I need to try it when I'm with 2-3 other people because it is GINORMOUS. I don't trust that I wouldn't eat the whole thing by myself. Their coffee is good, but there's nothing special to me about it! I come here for their fresh pastries and eats. They have free wifi and it's fairly quiet, so a good place to knock out some work or have a good conversation with a friend. It's neat, clean, and bright with a good amount of seating. This place is right next to my therapy office, so I frequent it a couple of times a month, and I have always felt welcomed and cared for by their employees. The pain au chocolat was love at first sight/touch. I could immediately tell it was incredibly flakey, buttery, and light just by lifting it off the plate. Every bite was divine. If I was not concerned with my waistline, I probably would have had more than one. I used the English muffins to make lunch sandwiches at home. I toasted them and they held up really well after I layered them guacamole, pan-seared German bologna, cheesy-potato omelette, and Sriracha aioli. I am thrilled to try other sandwich variations with these English muffins. Another pro is that they offer Sparrow Coffee. My husband and I are both fans. There were several small tables for dine-in options. We would love to return and enjoy a cup of coffee with breakfast.
