    Black coffee
    Natasha A.

This place is really cute inside, there is place to work, think, breathe, enjoy coffee, and overall it wasn't too loud. I got a black coffee and it was good. My partner got a coffee with boba, and the other person with us got a turmeric latte. I also got a bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. It was good. The vibe is better than the coffee / snacks. Definitely a kid friendly place despite being quiet. They have a lot of snack and bagel options.

Bacon Egg and Cheese Bagel and a bottomless cup of coffee.

Solid neighborhood coffee shop! Not crazy pricey for a decent coffee, tasty breakfast sando, and good place for a work /hang. Very low key.

The background shows a café interior with a counter, shelves, a coffee machine, and seating area, including chairs and a window with blinds. The wall has a decorative sign that reads 'Be Nice' and some plants.

This is my new go-to order. Squash soup is consistently delish - big serving, a little sweetness - but the mushrooms on the steamed bun! They had so much flavor! Careful though, the jalapeños will get you! Capped it off with a Thai Iced Tea. Always a good decision.

Sipping Turtle Cafe corner of Milwaukee & Central Park - The image shows the exterior of Sipping Turtle Cafe located on a city street corner. The cafe has a glass front with visible interior seating and a door with an 'OPEN' sign. Above the entrance, a green and white striped awning displays the name 'SIPPING TURTLE CAFE' along with menu categories such as coffee, tea, sandwiches, and baked goods. The surrounding area includes a traffic light, a bicycle parked nearby, and a stone building facade.

04/24/24 - Checking out Sipping Turtle Cafe something new for me. Sipping Turtle Cafe is on the corner of Milwaukee & Central Park. I love this place such a cool vibe and some very creative looking dishes. Cool little cafe w/an awesome vibe. I came here w/my wife and ordered a smoked salmon salad & a smoked croissant sandwich w/goat cheese, cucumbers & capers excellent light and a good blend of ingredients. The smoked salmon had sesame seeds & a nice blend of spring greens, avocados, cucumbers & tomatoes. Both of the dishes were very good lite & delicious. There are other things on the menu I would like to try so I will be back again. The staff

Behind it, there is a clear plastic cup filled with iced coffee, topped with a blue straw. The items are placed on a textured, woven desk mat, with a computer keyboard, papers, and office supplies visible in the background, indicating an office or workspace setting.

Local Gem Alert the phone did not eat first because this granola and fruit is delicious and has to be consumed immediately upon purchase! Sipping turtle is the best neighborhood coffee shop! Dog friendly inside, tons of food and drink items, strong WiFi and a relaxing atmosphere! The Thai tea with boba and yogurt mixed fruit and granola are my favorite and service is always kind and timely!

Salmon and goat cheese on croissant .......mmmmmmm

Enjoyed something different ....the coffee was smooth.....not strong but smooth. Nice big mug!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the smoked salmon and goat cheese croissant. Salmon was fresh. The goat cheese was balanced and didn't overpower the whole sandwich. I appreciated the ambience....small but enough.

latte - A latte with foam on top is served in a white paper cup on a light wooden table. A potted plant with green leaves is positioned behind the cup, and the background includes chairs and a window, indicating an indoor café setting.

Cute cafe with nice offerings and a great vibe. Love the plants and the seating, great place to stop and get some work done. The staff are very friendly and the coffee is dependable. I would go back if I'm in the area.

    Teriyaki Mushroom Bun Sandwich
    Nico G.

Tasty food, but the serving sizes were a bit insulting. I ordered a mushroom bao, and they only put two mushrooms on it. The order was also incorrect and about 15 minutes late, but I understand mistakes happen and places get busy. However, I don't quite understand why someone would make a mushroom bao and only put two tiny mushrooms in it. The bahn mi was very tasty, but also smaller in size than I would've expected. This is a nice place for a snack if you're not very hungry. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I'll round up because the food was tasty.

    Matcha smoothie

Stopped in after going to Avondale bowl up the street for an afternoon snack. I was intrigued by the variety of food options this cafe orders and decided to get the matcha smoothie because it sounded interesting and unique! I ended up tasting like slightly flavored milk and was very thin for a smoothie. I did like the cups though. It seems like a cute spot for coffee and maybe a pastry but not somewhere I'd go back for food. The interior is pretty simple but definitely has some cute details!

Pork belly bun and teriyaki beef bun
    Cecilia X.

Honestly I had such high hopes for this place based on the menu because they had typical American Cafe items like breakfast sandwiches and also Asian offerings like bao, bahn mi, and boba. I got the beef teriyaki bao and the pork belly bao and the beef teriyaki was horrible; super dry and gamey and tendony and chewy. The pork belly was better it at least had a sauce but it still didn't taste very good and the steamed bun on both baos were hard. I didn't finish eating either. The dalgona coffee tasted fine but there was a ton of unblended sugar at the bottom so it was gritty, I can make a better one at home. They still have a lot of other options I want to try and I'm holding out hope that those will be better. The staff was really nice and the space is great, really bright and large and easy to find seating if you want to work there.

Got the ham and cheese sandwich and potato leek soup. It was very good. The soup is not your typical Irish version but more flavorful.

Come to find out they've been going here for awhile since it's really close to his old apartment as well. He's a homeowner now in an adjacent neighborhood - please respect his privacy - and he still enjoys stopping by on the way back from Scott's Tots. The coffee was great - as were the empanadas! We got: -meat empanada (me) -ham and cheese morning bun (my brother's fave) And for to drink: -Chicago fog -Lake Shore Chaga It was delicious - perfect complement to the crisp Chicago air. Excellent service as well! Truthfully, what really warmed me to this place is that my brother's dog Wibby used to love coming to get pets and a pup cup from the window. She's been gone about 4 months now so it's always special to see little reminders of her around the neighborhood. Xoxoxo

This space is everything I adore...mood lighting, exposed brick, community seating, and modern design touches. This is the perfect spot to grab a coffee and get some serious work done. The staff was friendly and welcoming! We ordered a Cortado and their season special, the Strawberry Thyme Latte. The Cortado had lovely flavor from the espresso and just enough creamy milk. The Strawberry Thyme Latte was a subtly fruity, with just a hint of herbaceousness that really elevated the drink. Top notch spot and very glad we chose this one!

Pastry's, that while are delicious, are also really more expensive than most other coffee spots and are not that big. Thy are really slow. If you walk in and there is a line that stretches to the door, which is maybe 10 to 15 people, expect to wait 15 to 20 minutes to o place your order and then another 5 to 10 minutes to get your food and drinks (unless it's a drip). I've walked in an walked out before because of that line. Seating and parking. Parking is obviously out of their control trial, but there is super limited parking in the area and it's really hard to find a spot. Your best bet is walking or riding there. As for the seating, it seems like there is plenty of seating but people camp out there with computers for long time and even at random times it's been really tough to find a spot. Lastly, their bags of coffee are really expensive. I know they consider themselves top of their market, but unless you are an occasional coffee drinker or just have that much money to burn, you can't drink their coffee daily. They sell 2 pound bag for $49. The place is stunning though. I hope their take out window opens eventually and maybe they can light a fire under their staffs ass to speed up. Something helpful also might be to put the menu by the door and maybe out the pastry display in the middle section so by the time the people get to the counter they know what they are ordering. Good luck to this business. There is t a ton over there, but these issues are going to prevent me from going regularly.
