Hi everyone. I'm Peter, owner of Sipping Turtle Cafe. Let me preface this by saying this is probably the most bias review in the history of Yelp reviews. Second, I love reading reviews good or bad. Why? Because some of my biggest laugh attacks come from reading Yelp reviews. So, I should thank Yelp for some really good times. But back to point. Reading great reviews makes me and I think most people smile because it's nice being nice and complimenting to people who do a good job. However, it's awful to read a terrible review. It makes one all serious and eyebrows frowned. And especially a review that's about you. Or in this case about me. But you know, the customers are always right. Even when two customers contradict despite both having the same exact service/product at nearly the same exact time. It's because everyone goes through different experiences and no one can tell us we're wrong (people will but we won't like it). I love feedback though because it helps us do better and because it makes one see another person's point of view. So, give me your feedback. I know I can't please everyone but I do want to let you know I do care and I want you to be happy because believe it or not I get sad when you're not happy. If you have something nice to say or something less nice in mind, please stop by Sipping Turtle Cafe and I love to talk and learn more about you. I hope you like our community cafe in Avondale, where everyone is welcome. Thank you and have a great day! read more

Stopped by Sipping Turtle Café in Avondale recently and was pleasantly surprised. I grabbed a Thai iced tea with boba and the smoked salmon & goat cheese croissant sandwich--came out to around $15--all in. The croissant was flaky and rich, and the salmon‑goat cheese combo hit just right. The café has chill, plant‑filled vibes, great natural light, and enough seats to work or hang with pals without feeling cramped. Staff were super friendly and even remembered what I ordered. Only bummer is it gets a bit buzzy on weekend mornings, but it's still a solid local spot worth swinging by again. read more

Sipping Turtle Cafe in Avondale is the perfect spot for both working and relaxing. The cozy vibe and ample seating make it ideal for getting things done, while the friendly, community-oriented atmosphere invites you to linger. The banh mi was flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the dirty chai, which had just the right balance of spice and sweetness, and my friend raved about the s'mores latte. If you're in the mood for something else, the bagel with lox was great. Whether you're working remotely or just grabbing a coffee, this place has a great energy and tasty offerings. read more

I know to ask for another milk now, but they always spend the time telling me almond milk is what they normally use and ask if that's okay. To clarify, they don't tell you it's almond milk UNLESS you ask for another milk. Then they ask if they can just use almond milk instead of what you ordered. I can't figure out why a shop would use a very common allergen milk automatically in a drink that almost always defaults to dairy milk. But then I saw that they make their matcha in a blender bottle lol. So it's probably because dairy milk foams up when you aggressively shake it like that. Efficiency, I guess? That also means the matcha is really grainy. I've heard bad things about their other teas too. I guess it's just one of those shops that wants you to suffer if you don't drink coffee.
