Really great coffee at Big Shoulders! Nice pastry case of scones, croissants, and breakfast bites. Staff were friendly and kind. Highly suggest the brown sugar miso or marshmallow latte!
Delicious! Staff was fantastic very friendly and informative. I had the brown sugar miso and it was not overly sweet. Small inside just a few tables and some counters to enjoy food and drinks. Bustling place!
Very unique latter flavor! We got the brown sugar miso and it was ready pretty quickly. I can confidently say I've never had miso in my coffee before but I really liked it! Much more savory than sweet. The staff was helpful and answered any questions. It's a cute coffee shop, you could definitely wfh here.
A great spot for coffee! I stopped by here twice during the visit to Chicago. I love the oatmeal and the miso latte. I also bought say that the walnut coffee cake was divine ! Egg and cheese sandwich was a bit too greasy for my liking, also lacking in any flavor, the top of cookie was a bit too, baking soda heavy for my taste. I wish they would offer more vegan meat or or at least a turkey sausage option. All in all in grape please for coffee.

While on a trip to Chicago, I happened to walk past Big Shoulders Coffee--and ended up doubling back because I had to try it. The place is adorable, with equally cute merch you can buy. They had some really fun flavor options, including a Horchata latte I'm still thinking about. I almost tried it, but the marshmallow latte won me over--and honestly, I'm glad it did. The staff were incredibly kind and clearly knew their coffee. My drink even came with two actual roasted marshmallows on top (amazing touch). The shop itself is surprisingly spacious and has that perfect "come hang out with your friends or relax for a bit" vibe. A great little stop--definitely worth doubling back for.
Came here for a quick pick me up and was not disappointed! The coffee was brewed fresh and I got a horchata latte! It was very cinnamony and hot which was perfect for a windy cold day! I also had the blueberry scone warmed up which was buttery and sugary! The barista was very nice and completed my order fast. Would be excited to come back to try their seasonal flavors!

I was browsing yelp for coffee places near me and came across the toasted marshmallow latte and knew I needed to come here and try it. There is street parking and at 7:30am on a Thursday there was plenty available nearby. The interior is kind of small but there is seating with a number of tables. The bar is beautifully set up and you can watch the barista prepare your drink. The marshmallow on the latte was perfectly toasted and the latte itself did taste like toasted marshmallow but not too intense or artificial tasting. I also got the bacon cheddar scone which was also great. Nice and soft and the perfect size little bits of bacon.

Came here to grab a bag of beans as a Chicago souvenir and one of the famous Toasted Marshmallow lattes. Neither disappointed. Some lattes hide the flavor of coffee too much, but in this latte you could taste the quality of the coffee but also the sweet and creaminess you want in a latte. Took the beans home (Night Shift), ground them up and we have been loving a cup of it every morning. The employees were really friendly and it was a nice spot to drink my latter while I had some time to kill. Around 9:30 on a Monday and they were already out of the cheddar scones. It's definitely a popular spot and for good reason!
Good coffee, fast service and nice place t people watch! Highly recommend stopping in whether you're commuting to work or have a spare moment to pop in.

Such a great local coffee chain in the Chicago area! There are a ton of options for both coffee and non-coffee lovers. I personally got the Brown Sugar Latte since I've never seen a flavor like that before, and I'm in love with it! Additionally, I'm a fan of the interior of the shop. Great vibes, plenty of indoor seating, and very friendly baristas! I would definitely come back here for my morning pick-up. read more
This was our first stop in Chicago. Cool little place and the staff was nice. No up charges for alternative milks which is awesome. I got the brown sugar miso latte which was a great salty sweet combination. The iced drinks have 4 shots of espresso so I'd say you get your moneys worth. read more

All the staff that work here look like they have interesting background stories. It was a vibe. Get the good chocolate. Ask them to make it extra chocolatey with almond milk. If you say it nicely it gives when a huge marshmallow. read more

i didn't get any coffee so i can only vouch for what i did get here which was the bacon cheddar jalapeño scone. the barista was very friendly and they heated it up for me first which was great. it was one of the best scones i've had and it being warm definitely helped. it was fluffy and savory and had a nice saltiness to it, not too salty, just right. i'm a big scone person and this was my first stop on my scone crawl. it definitely didn't disappoint read more

It's so fun in this lil coffee shop. I got a decaf brown sugar miso latte hot- fantastic. And an iced americano for my boyfriend. I accidentally forgot to say decaf and they had already pulled the shots when I came back up to tell them. The barista was so understanding and had no problem with remaking my drink. I'm so glad I found this amazing coffee roasters... The coffee is soooo good, The store appears to be Uber hipster and chill. It's got a great vibe. The staff were courteous and efficient. Stumbled upon this gem while visiting Chicago for a wedding - and I'm glad I did! Late Saturday morning, before the festivities began, I went for a walk around town & stopped in for an Iced Oat Milk Latte. One of my favs I've had to date! The staff was kind & efficient. There were several small groups gathered, as well as individuals working/studying. It's small, but there's definitely room to dine in. My only knock was the price. My drink was really good, but not $8+ good. read more

Big shoulders coffee on state st is a small coffee shop with big coffee flavor. My friends and I came here to try the marshmallow latte and blueberry muffin. The atmosphere was very cute but very small with no more than 6 little tables in there. But the service was friendly and quick. You could taste the quality of the espresso in the latte and I loved the roasted marshmallow they put on top. However if you didn't tell me this latte was marshmallow flavored, I don't think I would have guessed. It was sweet but the marshmallow flavor was lacking a little. The blueberry muffin was good but nothing spectacular. I will have to come back and try another coffee and a breakfast sandwich! Big shoulders coffee is big on quality coffee but little on accompaniments and added flavors. read more

I had a vanilla latte on a rainy Tuesday morning in this cafe. There is a good amount of seating inside. Perfect for a small group of 2-3 to enjoy a coffee and chat. Staff are friendly and they seem to love working there. Cute cafe and would come again read more

I went by while walking to the bank. Wanted to grab a drink and snack. It was busy but not too crowded. I was able to place my order quickly. I ordered an iced chai latte and breakfast burrito. The drink was ready much faster than the burrito. I thought I was going to be gone with my tea before hand. It was good and flavorful. The burrito overall was okay. It was suppose to have eggs, Turkey sausage and cheese but it seemed like there weee other things in it like salsa or beans. I did enjoy it. I am not in this area much but I would go back for tea or drink items. I am not a big breakfast person and really tried it do you the time and the amount of walking. If you like breakfast burritos then maybe give that or another one a try. read more
