Excellent espresso just up a level from the water taxi and river tour At the end of their Fall-early-Winter season we took the ChicagoWaterTaxi up from the Chinatown stop, and Michigan Av was the 2nd stop. There's stairs and an elevator to the street level. We turned, and just before Michigan Av, Peet's is on the right inside the Wrigley Bldg. There's outdoor and indoor seating. On a cold day, the espresso was hot and flavorful, rich, nutty-sweet, no acidity, with creamy mouth-feel and a sturdy crema layer. Heavenly. The staff were busy, professional, polite, and efficient. There's a drop-off pick-up lane out front on Michigan which made it really easy to catch our ride-share. Expect some mild pan-handling in the windy city on a chilly day. read more

What a delicious start to my day. I got the impossible sandwich and it was delicious. The flat bagel kept things light the sausage patty was seasoned the egg was fluffy and not rubbery how some places can sometimes be. Although it took foreevvvveerrrrr to get my drink, it was really good!! HIGHLY recommend the sugar free vanilla latte here with Ripple milk! I got a large but asked for an extra shot of espresso. Chloe was so sweet! We were just walking and needed a little pick me up and it was one of the only coffee shop still open at 6:30 PM. We got a cold brew, and a Matcha. The cold brew was bright and had great flavor. The Matcha was a pretty green, but it was pretty milky. I do like that. They have a knot sweetened option. Some places do not so I did like that! Over priced, watery, commercialized coffee. I had already been disappointed by the Starbucks reserve taste and wanted to try the famous Peet's. 5.25 for a cookie is crazy! Came here during a recent work trip and needed a place to work out of for a few hours before a client meeting. This Peet's location is small, but has plenty of outdoor tables that make up for the lack of inside seating if you're here during milder weather. This location is clean and well maintained. I used the bathroom a few times and that was well kept, too. Service moved swiftly even though it was a bit busy. My iced coffee came out promptly and was strong and just right. Can't speak to the food here since I was just here for the caffeine, but they did have some to-go sandwich options if you're looking to grab something on the run. I'm not from this area, but one thing to note was that there was a pretty vocal homeless man shouting obscenities during my time working here. There's not much Peet's can do about that, but something to be aware of if you're hoping to sit outside and are looking for some peace and quiet. read more

I really like Peet's Coffee and particularly this location! Staff is really friendly even when they are so busy and I prefer Peet's over Starbucks! It's nice that they have started offering pea milk and are currently swapping it with regular milk for free so that people can try it. I'd say my go-to order right now is the horchata cold brew oat latte if you're feeling fancy! Only con is it does tend to get loud and cramped at this location. read more

stopped here for a quick breakfast with my dad. food + environment were amazing! very beautiful and clean area. i had the bacon, swiss, spinach frittata and let me just say i could eat that for the rest of my life every day. we also tried the bacon cheddar ciabatta, almond croissant, and seasonal danish and they all were incredible, seriously. my dad got the horchata iced coffee and it was sooooo good, he loved it. i got a matcha and it was ok. i should've gotten a shot of vanilla- without it was pretty bland, but that's on me. we didn't interact with service much, as we ordered online. but i will say that the online order said it would be done at a certain time and it was! so props for that. great little place, definitely recommend. read more

My husband and I love Peet's Coffee so whenever we travel we excitedly look for a location. Our favorite drink is one made with turmeric. When we visited this store the associate told us that they do not have the specific drink anymore but that she had the ingredients to make two for us. We were very grateful and appreciated the level of service that she provided. The drinks were delicious and everything that we were looking for. In addition to the coffee we ordered a blueberry scone and a toasted everything bagel. Both items were very fresh. The scone was lightly sweetened with a crunchy outside and a soft center. The bagel came with a side of cream cheese and was tasty enough to leave us wanting to share another one. read more

We got coffee to go before our boat tour not far away. My matcha latte was probably the worst one I've ever had. Tasted like grassy water. My friend however did mention when she ordered they were very friendly so I still gave 2 stars. Another issue is their bathroom was down. I simply needed to change my sons diaper so it was frustrating for their bathroom to be out of order for paying customers. Overall wasn't super impressed unfortunately. read more

I've been going to this coffee shop pretty regularly for the last year or so and the quality of service, coffee and food never lacks. It's top tier! The customer service is always prompt, welcoming and attentive to orders no matter what complexity. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy a laid back spot to get work done, but want somewhere that has a balance of hustle and bustle in a moderate urban setting. Peet's Coffee have great quality products and the patio is GRGEUS! When you come here though make sure you ask if JOSIE, MiTCH, or PAIGE are working. They have a passion for what they do and their lattes are AMAZING!!!!! My latte from yesterday was flat, Ryan made it and I had to request it be re-made. My husband was a sweetheart that he just went ahead and had his that way, but it's a pleasure having the right amount of creaminess in my latte, that's why we pay the premium instead of a flat coffee. Luckily the second one was better but not up to snuff. I have attached a picture of the first one that came out. ___________ We came in today and none of our regular baristas were on staff. A new barista made our drinks, to our disappointment, we had to send them back because they were bitter and flat. Josie,Mitch, Page, Charis and Ryan have made our drinks up to snuff. We come here everyday and sometimes twice a day. We are wondering if they are not being trained the same or what is up with that? Peet's have a high quality product but when you order a latte and it's not up to snuff, we should not have to send them back. Please train your staff accordingly. Thank you. read more

There is something so convenient about chain coffee locations. They are always right there when you need them. I enjoy a Starbucks cup of coffee, but on a recent trip to Chicago, our hotel was closest to a Peet's. After a quick peruse of the menu, I realized the menu is quite similar to Starbucks - both coffee and bakery items. I order an iced sugar free vanilla latte from Starbucks, and this drink was comparable in flavor. I also ordered the Turkey Bacon and White Cheddar breakfast sandwich - identical to Starbucks. The menu at Peet's did include something they called Jelly. I don't quite have a handling on what this does for a caffeinated beverage, but the options appeared endless with what you could include this in. My sister, mom and I enjoyed this Saturday morning coffee and breakfast stop around 8:30am. It was not all that busy for being located on Michigan Avenue. We sat inside, but there is quite a bit of outdoor seating available as well. They do offer a restroom for customers only, and you do have to request the code from the barista. Overall, a great experience for coffee and small bakery items. read more

I tried them out hoping for less of a crowd because I was running late for a class. My latte was tasty, and served up with a bit of pleasant conversation from the barista. I saw the people who work there PRESS the "Button with their FEET for people in wheelchairs to open the door, I asked the manager to talk and asked the question "Is it normal for the people who work here to press the button for automatic door opening with their FEET " THE MANAGER TOLD ME YES IS IT NORMAL... I don't know if it's normal in any store, but it's not normal anywhere that people who work behave unprofessionally, and even worse, the manager supports it. HORRIBLE.... Good coffee. I got the black tie coffee which is condensed milk (a little on the sweet side), layered onto cold brew coffee with a strong kick of mint. My friend and I were looking for a place to grab a pick me up between sight seeing and summer time. Peets has a huge restroom, outlets, and is a nice place to go relax and recharge. There is seating inside and outside. I prefer inside because there are outlets and wifi. It gets a bit loud with the workers banging on stuff though. Service was good. read more

This is a great location right on Michigan Avenue, however, when I entered the store, I had noticed how small this place is. There is a small seating area with chairs - no large tables like other locations - then a counter which is on the smaller side. Just recently, the patio was just set up. I sat outside at first but after proving to windy I decided to sit inside in a nice little area that faced the window outside on a stool. There were plugs for laptops and the decor was cozy.
