First time having Blue Bottle in the States (I know it's funny but I had it in Japan first lol). Anyways it was a small area but it was nice and I enjoyed looking at the merch. I got their iced latte and it was good! It was also at a convenient place so if you need some coffee, this is a great place.

The most delicious miso caramel latte. You can tell they use the best ingredients in their drinks. I will say the price point is a bit higher ($22 for two drinks!) so prepare yourself for that. This location is right in the tribune tower and a great green space to enjoy your beverage in.

Great little shop. Fantastic coffee and it smells divine. Small seating inside. But lots of seats outside.

Passing thru Chicago and we were craving coffee, finally got to try Blue Bottle Coffee (never tried the ones near home as I am an out of state visitor), and i was neither amazed nor disappointed by the coffee. Echoing what other reviewers have mentioned- line takes a while, a bit hot inside during our summer visit, coffee is okay/nothing remarkable or particular to write home about. Wait time could have been better Think the person taking the order needs someone to help pour out the cold brew behind them, that seemed like it backed up the cashier, when the 2 baristas were standing there and just chatting, waiting for cashier to hand off the xyz drinks to be finished. Odd flow of operations and by NO means is this any of the employees faults as they are doing the best they can, it's moreso for corporate to figure out a different flow of operations to maximize/optimize efficiency

I stopped into Blue Bottle Coffee while walking around the city and overall thought it was fine, just not particularly memorable. The shop itself has that very California modern tech aesthetic, clean lines, minimal design, and a polished atmosphere. It is a nice space to sit for a bit. As for the coffee, it was okay, but nothing really stood out. It tasted more like a solid, generic cup of coffee rather than something distinctive or memorable, especially considering the reputation and price point. Overall, not a bad stop by any means, but probably closer to a 3.5 star experience for me if Yelp allowed half stars.

First time trying it. The flavor of coffee was absolutely incredible. The only thing was the wait for a double espresso. I can understand it can be a bit busy downtown. If you haven't tried the coffee, definitely give it a shot!

food: coffee is good service: nice staff but line can take long ambiance: really hot in the line

After having breakfast in the area, we stopped by here for a coffee break before we start our morning. As this is a touristy part of Chicago, there was a huge line out the door so we assumed it must be great coffee. This coffee shop felt a bit underwhelming for the crowd size it attracts. I got the Winter Latte, which I believe is a seasonal drink that is only available during the winter months. It is a latte that has juniper infused and pink peppercorn dusted on top. While visually it looked nice, the "wintery" additions were a bit strange. The best imagery I can give is this is akin to drinking a cup of coffee infused with pine tree essence and spicy cracked pepper on top. Definitely worked on keeping my awake in the morning, but it was not all that tasty to me. Keep in mind, the price is also on the higher end at $8.50 for a large 16oz. As for the coffee beans they use, I definitely had better. I would say that in a pinch, this coffee shop might do. But if there is a huge line, I would say it is a better idea to head to another coffee shop nearby.

Blue bottle is amazing!! Love their smooth coffee, pour overs, lattes and almond croissants. They offer order ahead and you can sit inside or outside. Small little shop. Minimalist ambiance.

Convenient location in the touristy part of the town so the line can be long at times. It is cozy ambiance with very clean and simple designs inside, some seatings available but it can be a tight space with folks sitting and people waiting in line. There are also few small tables outside for outdoor seating. I've tried the flat white, cappuccino and iced NOLA in the various visits, the coffee is pretty solid. Free water is available (self-serve). There are simple food / pastry selections too if you are looking for a quick bite. If you enjoy your drink/food on site, putting away used mug and plates is also self-serve. Best part, it is doggy friendly!

Cute place! Super convent area and staff were super helpful and kind. The coffee was mediocre, I probably wouldn't bring a friend here from out of town!

I love blue bottle coffee, and will seek it as my primary source of caffeine if I'm in a city that has a location nearby. Overall, I like this location because it has the usual blue bottle ambiance of stark decor, High ceilings, and good music. I've been here twice now, the staff are great, and the offerings are good as usual. My issues are is that there is very minimal seating, which is occupied by people with their laptops almost never becomes available for those that would like to have a 15 to 20 minute moment to enjoy their coffee indoors, I also wish that it would not take up to 15 minutes to grab ones coffee. It seems like this location is rather slow compared to blue bottles. I've been to both in California in New York.

We live a block away and have fallen into the habit of getting lattes here most mornings. I prefer local independent spots like Soloway in Lincoln Park, from both a coffee bean and brewing perspective, but I must admit this Blue Bottle location is pretty great. They get slammed as you'd expect in the mornings from 8-10ish, but still take their time to properly pour your drinks; so many other corporate places (and frankly, lesser independents) would just dump milk into lattes and chuck them out at customers. My favorite non seasonal drink here is their hot mocha with whole milk...I'm not usually a mocha person but Blue Bottle's is very satisfying.

I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken tenders which is supposed to come with sesame ginger slaw, cashew, picked red fresno, and gochujiang honey mustard. I made it very clear that my allergy is specific to walnuts and is not dangerous but I do avoid eating them. Apparently they were unable to understand this or come up with anything resembling a solution, so they sent out a plate that was just 3 chicken tenders and some honey mustard, simply leaving the rest of the dish off. The chicken tenders themselves were overcooked and disappointing - but the main problem is that this isn't an entree. The idea that any chef looked at that plate and thought "yeah, we can send that out" absolutely blows my mind. $20 for 3 chicken tenders and some honey mustard. They are out of their minds. The waitress didn't even bother to tell me that my dish would be affected due to allergies (which didn't even apply here, I'm not allergic to cashews at all) as I would have either explained the situation or ordered something else. I'm sure most people have a fine time eating here, but this was the most amateur-hour handling of a food allergy I've ever seen and it ruined a dinner I had been looking forward to. This was a failure on every level by both the wait staff and the kitchen. I'm curious if I had a gluten allergy as well if they'd have just brought me a plate with nothing but a cup of honey mustard on it.

I arrived around 9:30 AM, and their most popular donuts were already almost sold out. That's always a good sign! I ended up getting a cruller and a strawberry-frosted donut. I tried to practice a little self-control by eating only half of each and saving the rest for later, but that plan quickly went out the window. They were just too good to resist! Later in the day, I told my friend she needed to check this place out for their donuts, only for her to tell me that it's her go-to spot every Sunday. Clearly, she's been in on this little gem for a while! While paying for my donuts, I also noticed they serve chicken, which gives me another reason to come back. I can't wait to try some more of their donuts and eventually venture into their chicken sandwiches. Definitely worth a stop when exploring downtown Chicago, especially if you have a sweet tooth!

It was hard to choose what donut to eat because they all looked delicious, but I settled on the apple fritter and my wife had the gluten-free sprinkle one and it was so good, she ordered a second to go. My apple fritter was great and not too sweet. Based on the donuts, I would come back to try the chicken! What a great local spot with great donuts.

However, it's actually a casual, counter-service concept where you place your order and then find your own seating. The space has a nice, open-floor layout with a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for a casual breakfast or brunch. The menu had quite a few appealing options, so naturally, we decided to try a little bit of everything! I ordered the egg, ham, and cheddar biscuit, substituting bacon for the ham. The sandwich was really flavorful, although I will say the biscuit was a bit heavier and denser than I was expecting, especially for breakfast. Thankfully, the honey mustard aioli was a wonderful addition! It added some much-needed moisture and complemented the flavors of the sandwich beautifully. We also tried the hash browns, strawberry matcha, sunrise chai latte, waffles, chicken sandwich, and regular coffee. Overall, the food was really good! My only minor critique would be the hash browns, which I found to be a little on the dry side. They weren't terrible by any means, but I definitely think they could have benefited from a bit more moisture. If I were to return, I would probably opt for one of their croissant breakfast sandwiches instead of the biscuit. Personally, I prefer something a little lighter in the morning, and I think a buttery, flaky croissant would be more my speed! What I appreciated most was the variety on the menu and the laid-back atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can grab a coffee, enjoy a good breakfast, and ease into your morning without feeling rushed. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience! While there were a couple of small things I would personally change about my order, the food was flavorful, the menu offered a nice selection, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Chicago and looking for a casual breakfast, brunch, or coffee spot!

Plenty of outdoor seating, but I chose to eat in the cafe area due to time constraints. I had the Vaca Frita which I haven't had in over 60 years and wow, it was amazing. It came with the proverbial white rice, black beans with plenty of condiment, and maduros. Oh yummy. My Cuban grandma would have been pleased...
