I came here for a quick meeting during early evening hours. It was fairly easy to find seating for two although I would say I got lucky as it is limited. It is a cozy- (polite for small) coffee shop lurking at the corner of river, right next to Ghirardelli chocolate. They have good, to the point menu. I like that they stick to normal human nomenclature and none of that venti jargon. I tried the mango sunrise iced tea and the lemonade one.. I'd say go for the mango, or else you'll end up stealing your partner's. Server was oh so sweet!! I was unnecessarily taking time in deciding and he was very patient. Even spelled my name correctly. From ordering to receiving..I hardly had to wait. It's getting a bit chilly but they do have couple tables on the outside. Would be a lovely spot to unwind in summer. Mobile ordered at this location two days in a row while on vacation. The first day was fine...second day, waited over 20 minutes (ten minutes more than the highest estimated time that it would be ready). The food (burrito) was given to us cold and the girl had attitude when she handed the food over. No apology for such a long delay, just a smirk and cold food. I am a longtime Peet's fan and try to find a Peet's location everywhere I travel. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Peet's close to my hotel in Chicago. This location is beautiful, located in the Wrigley building. A decent amount of seating indoors and out. Located on Michigan Ave close to shopping and tourist destinations. I'm a huge coffee snob and Pete's is my go to coffee chain. I had the cold brew (very good) and my wife had a iced Latte (also very good). Took a couple minutes to get the Latte but it was WELL worth the wait. The guy who took our order (Lucas?) was very friendly and helpful with drink recommendations, as well as the rest of the staff. We felt very well taken care of and the coffee was GREAT. The only con is that they didn't have the lids that don't need straws. #savetheturtles read more

We came during the super packed dyeing of the Chicago river which is right near by here. So naturally this was very busy! That being said they did a good job of moving people along and getting drinks out quickly and not without quality. This location is particularly nice, and the outside seating is particularly, particularly nice, located in the Wrigley Building's breezeway, where you can watch the tourists on their way from Michigan Avenue to the Trump and the Riverwalk. It's a great place for an iced coffee on a hot day. Or visit the Ghirardelli chocolate store next door, and have that with your hot coffee indoors on a cold winter's day. read more

Great service and tasty drinks! I wish they had more seating though I came here looking for a coffee shop with great drinks and a place to do work. By the count of chairs, they only had 4 places to sit so I lucked out there. One family was in front of me and a couple of other people came in after I ordered. The barista at the register seemed to be the only one there at the time so things got really backed up. I ended up having to wait over 5 minutes so they have me a card for a free drink for my next visit! I used the coupon from their page on the Yelp app ($1 off of the almond mocha soy latte). The barista said he had never seen it before but still honored it which was nice! I'll definitely come again, but with a plan to take my drink to go. read more

My addiction to coffee is growing. Curse you, corporate life! But I suppose it's not all bad, especially when you have cafe's like Peets that create interesting coffee concoctions such as the 'cold brew fog'. I love a new product, so naturally I had to get me a cup, and damn, was that cold brew strong! Got me feeling high as a MF! They also had it with coconut flavoring too, which I wish I got because I'm sure it would've tasted great. Other than that, you got your basic coffee shop here on Michigan Ave. I don't normally review chains, but I had to tell the world about this magnificent cold brew creation the guys and gals at Peet have made. This store is great but there is something wrong with the upper management here - the staff turnover is rampant. All the good staff leave after a few months. The coffee selection/rotation is pathetic - none of the good blends you see at the other stores. What a breath of fresh air to visit a Peet's in downtown Chicago. I have always preferred them to Starbucks because they had almond milk as an option years ago. Their attitude is better too - more welcoming, customer-centric. There is honey available at the counter and the chocolate powder container is ample and readily available. I'm pretty tired of Starbucks, I have one conveniently right next to work but the majority of the staff are unfriendly. I went to Peets coffee for the first time yesterday because Starbucks ran out of heavy cream, and I really enjoyed my service! The staff was super nice, and not that fake nice, they all seemed like wonderful people. My drink was made perfectly, and with care. I LOVE that they have a honey dispenser to use on the counter -- Starbucks gives you tiny packets that are a bitch to open--so go Peets! I went back this morning and was given a free 50% coupon to use on my next visit. I asked if they had any sort of rewards system, and the cashier told me about all of the deals that they offer. Hell yeah Peets! I'm usually all about non-chain places, but for a chain Peets it real chill and gets 5 stars. read more

I usually visit this coffee shop in San Carlos when I am visiting my sister. Well, I was so relieved when I saw this coffee shop since my colleague is also a fan of this place. I picked up a bag of coffee beans for $2 off and also a free small drink. Well, the blondie coffee which I tried out with the free small drink. There are also other locations so keep an eye out for their sign. I also tried "Inteligentia" which had a line out the door and their barista actually make a show of making your coffee. So, I would recommend to try both but my taste is for Peet's coffee. read more

Visiting from SF...was really happy to see a Peets...I know~ should've gone to Dunkin' Donuts...but i was really missing my vanilla soy latte. The girl at the cashier is grimacing..im waiting for her to take my order and she spaces out. No one is in front or behind when we get there....She half asses an apology then takes my order (gets it wrong btw) and sighs when my mom is trying to pick a pastry (the cinnamon rolls were all out). As a big Peet's coffee fan, I was glad to discover this location on Michigan Ave. It's easy to miss, as its entrance is in the little "courtyard" of the Wrigley Building. Small store with friendly staff. A little disappointing that they told me they no longer carry Cafe Solano (medium roast), but they offered an alternative called Big Bang that was pretty good. I would definitely come back for my Cafe Solano fix, but since it seems like that's no longer an option, I may have to see what else is out there! read more

Perfect place for a Saturday, post-workout pick-me-up. I was lured in by the coupons that were mailed to me. The location, in the Wrigley Building retail arcade, is particularly convenient and the seating is plentiful, which I was not expecting in the midst of this highly tourist-trafficked area. Since I had a coupon for a small drip coffee with the purchase of a hot breakfast sandwich, I ordered the bacon egg and cheese. The bacon was definitely hand cut, not that reconstituted stuff found on the Starbucks breakfast sandwiches. I went with the medium blend coffee which was perfect and evidently brewed fresh. I could see this would be an excellent place to park oneself for computer work and people-watching, at least on a Saturday morning- I can't vouch any weekday times as this was my only visit here. I look forward to coming back to try the seasonal beverages- hot cider tea and sea salt caramel latte. read more

I LOVED this place! When we were in Chicago fortunately we stayed in a very close hotel to Peet's Coffee and as I adore good coffee I was searching for a nice place to have my morning coffee. Luckily I found this café and I had a single espresso each day and it was literally one of the best coffees I've ever had!! It is very strong, exactly how I like it. And it doesn't cost a fortune ($1.99). The place is spacious and very comfortable, I immediately felt like home yet it's elegant and stylish and clean. I also have to add that the staff is extremely kind and friendly so it's also a very pleasant experience. I can totally recommend this place! read more
