Shoutout to Maddy for being a great host! Recommend you ask for her area! Good food! My wife had the Belgian Waffles with cinnamon, strawberries, and Mango, Pineapple, & orange drink. I had the eggs your way, egg white scrambled with cinnamon bacon and mimosa for the drink. Finished it off with a chocolate chunk (chocolate chip cookie) to set off my birthday breakfast the right way! I love Chicago and this is the first time I've ever been to this establishment. Great service, good food, and amazing vibe!

I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken tenders which is supposed to come with sesame ginger slaw, cashew, picked red fresno, and gochujiang honey mustard. I made it very clear that my allergy is specific to walnuts and is not dangerous but I do avoid eating them. Apparently they were unable to understand this or come up with anything resembling a solution, so they sent out a plate that was just 3 chicken tenders and some honey mustard, simply leaving the rest of the dish off. The chicken tenders themselves were overcooked and disappointing - but the main problem is that this isn't an entree. The idea that any chef looked at that plate and thought "yeah, we can send that out" absolutely blows my mind. $20 for 3 chicken tenders and some honey mustard. They are out of their minds. The waitress didn't even bother to tell me that my dish would be affected due to allergies (which didn't even apply here, I'm not allergic to cashews at all) as I would have either explained the situation or ordered something else. I'm sure most people have a fine time eating here, but this was the most amateur-hour handling of a food allergy I've ever seen and it ruined a dinner I had been looking forward to. This was a failure on every level by both the wait staff and the kitchen. I'm curious if I had a gluten allergy as well if they'd have just brought me a plate with nothing but a cup of honey mustard on it.

On my short stay I tried the matcha black sesame, the cold brew malt, the pumpkin whiskey cold brew latter, and the brown sugar hojicha tea latte. Everything was pretty good. My favorite is always the cold brew malt super yum! The black sesame matcha was really good as well and they got the sesame flavor right! You can taste the whiskey in the pumpkin and it paired perfectly. The brown sugar hojicha was just okay, I even tried it with an added espresso shot but it was still light in flavor. For the food I tried almost everything. I had the focaccia's and the margarita is the best one. I had the savory croissants and the sweet ones. The best ones were the ham/cheese and the chocolate/pistachio croissant. The egg sandwiches are soft, buttery, and easy to eat. The salmon toast was my favorite item! For desserts the pumpkin s'mores pie, tiramisu, 3 set cream puffs (the salted caramel is he best one) , and the whiskey doughnut were all delicious. I would pass on the doughnut if you're not eating it right away because I got one in the morning and ate it at night and it lost all its flavor and just tasted weird. For merchandise I thought the cute items were the tote bags, magnets, the 6 espresso cup set, and the puzzle! The chocolate was popular when I went as they were out of stock. Staff was ok. It is busy so they seemed overwhelmed and wont be providing the best service but it seems like they're trying their best. I love starbucks reserves and this one lives up to the hype!

Unfortunately, the rooftop terrace was undergoing maintenance during our visit, so we weren't able to enjoy it. There's also plenty of seating with great street views, making it a fun spot to relax and people-watch. Even if you're not a huge coffee drinker, it's a pretty cool experience. I arrived around 9:30 AM, and their most popular donuts were already almost sold out. That's always a good sign! I ended up getting a cruller and a strawberry-frosted donut. I tried to practice a little self-control by eating only half of each and saving the rest for later, but that plan quickly went out the window. They were just too good to resist! Later in the day, I told my friend she needed to check this place out for their donuts, only for her to tell me that it's her go-to spot every Sunday. Clearly, she's been in on this little gem for a while! While paying for my donuts, I also noticed they serve chicken, which gives me another reason to come back. However, it's actually a casual, counter-service concept where you place your order and then find your own seating. The space has a nice, open-floor layout with a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for a casual breakfast or brunch. The menu had quite a few appealing options, so naturally, we decided to try a little bit of everything! I ordered the egg, ham, and cheddar biscuit, substituting bacon for the ham. The sandwich was really flavorful, although I will say the biscuit was a bit heavier and denser than I was expecting, especially for breakfast. Thankfully, the honey mustard aioli was a wonderful addition! It added some much-needed moisture and complemented the flavors of the sandwich beautifully. We also tried the hash browns, strawberry matcha, sunrise chai latte, waffles, chicken sandwich, and regular coffee. Overall, the food was really good! My only minor critique would be the hash browns, which I found to be a little on the dry side. They weren't terrible by any means, but I definitely think they could have benefited from a bit more moisture. If I were to return, I would probably opt for one of their croissant breakfast sandwiches instead of the biscuit. Personally, I prefer something a little lighter in the morning, and I think a buttery, flaky croissant would be more my speed! What I appreciated most was the variety on the menu and the laid-back atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can grab a coffee, enjoy a good breakfast, and ease into your morning without feeling rushed. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience! While there were a couple of small things I would personally change about my order, the food was flavorful, the menu offered a nice selection, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
