    Patio

‼Avoid this place at alllllll costs‼ Came here for a little coffee date and to get food. What really drew us to here was the lovely colorful patio. But do not be deceived. We were seated at 3:43 and there were about 4 more tables with people. So my friend ordered an iced coffee with caramel flavoring and 1 shot instead of 2. They literally brought a cup of milk with ice and no flavor and well the one shot...hmm ok. We also ordered Parmesan Fries and Fried peppers. The coffee came out within minutes ok. But after 30 minutes we were informed that the kitchen is running behind. Ok no problem we understand and have formerly worked in food industry and were willing to be patient. The woman who took our order would kind of check on us but there was also a gentleman with glasses who came to check on us. We didn't realize we were waiting forever until finally my friend pointed out that it is now 4:45 and close to 5 and we still didn't receive our appetizers. I was super hungry to the point of being a little faint and decided let's just go to McDonald's where we will get better service, hot food and a nice place to sit. The woman comes to check on us and I told her we don't want to wait anymore and want the check for the coffee. She was visibly shaken up and walked away. She came back with I don't even know what the bloody hell she was going to serve us but tells us our food is now ready NOW That I want to leave. I refuse it as it is clearly not even my food. Keep in mind I ordered Parmesan Fries and they brought out something that looked like Pita or some type of Bread. I refuse the food and then another server aggressively comes and serves us the food and tells us that once the food is ordered we cannot cancel it. This time the new woman server puts the plates of food in front of us but one is a giant burger with a bunch of sausages and some fries and again the Pita dish. I explain to her we ordered Parmesan Fries and Fried Sausages and this was not it. The table next to us received their fried sausages but we didn't.... Anyways after she aggressively tried to force the food onto us--she tells us all upset to just go to the register to pay for the coffee. Fine ok. At 4:54 we finally get to the register and the man in the glasses tries to charge us for everything. Then the two waitresses come and start telling him to remove the food. The aggressive waitress then tells him to give us 2 donuts on the house for our troubles. Man I wish they would of not offered shit. Watching these 3 individuals felt like watching the 3 stooges. They had no idea if to put the donuts in a bag or a large box and kept asking each other what box to put them in. Finally, the aggressive waitress comes back to tell him to put it in an entirely different container (a small clear one) and finally after watching them struggle for what seemed forever we left. This restaurant's staff will forget about you and then try to force shit on you. Stand your ground! TLDR: DO NOT COME HERE. You are so much better off going to starbies or McDonald's or even the gas station down the street. Place is a joke, but has cute backdrops for insta pics. Food and drinks ain't it.

Visited on a Saturday morning and the place was packed! Not sure if this place is usually like this or if TikTok blew it up, but regardless it was nice to see so many people supporting local business. We had ordered the Bek's bfast sandwich, the spinach and feta pastry, an iced pistachio latte and an OJ. Since it was quite busy, it did take a while to get our drinks and food. No biggie but I do hope that as the cafe gets more popular, they try to hire more people to help if possible. Unfortunately, the drinks we ordered were disappointing. The OJ was watered down and I couldn't taste any pistachio in the latte. However, the sandwich was really good! We did wait almost 30 mins though which kinda sucked but at least it was tasty. Also, let me be clear and this isn't your average sandwich. It's almost like a thin pita bread stuffed with salami, mozzarella, onions, cucumber and sauce. That bite you get from the onion was so good. I'd order it again. The spinach and feta puff pastry was also delicious. The feta was so creamy and the crust was perfectly buttery and flaky. If you're in a rush definitely try a baked good! Although I was a little let down by the drinks, I do believe cafe Libra is worth the visit. I think my visit was an off day and I caught them during a rush so I'd love to come back to try another drink, food menu item, or even some gelato.

Long over due review, we had such a great time at Cafe Libra. My friend and I came by when our plans fell through, we both happen to be Libras. We were warmly welcomed by Bella, she's awesome I'll come back just for her. Drinks were delicious and the space is so tranquil. We opted for outdoor seating and it was such a beautiful day. We had the strawberry matcha and Banana latte with an extra shot of espresso.

Food great! Service HORRIBLE. No communication what's so ever. Waited 30 minutes to be seen and had to order inside. Cool for photos. Won't be back .

    Mantije

Cafe Libra is a charming spot with kind and attentive staff and warm decor. My husband and I stopped by for lunch and ordered the mantije and fries. The fries were fantastic--homemade and well-seasoned--but the mantije lacked flavor. That said, it was our first time trying this Eastern European dish, so it's possible it's meant to be on the milder side. While we truly wish the best for this local business, we don't think it's quite the right fit for us in terms of the depths of flavor we prefer.

Stopped in to grab some bakery food for later. Staff was friendly and service was fast. We ordered chocolate chip cookies, walnut cookies and chocolate croissant. We loved the chocolate chip cookies. The walnut cookies were great and first time having them. The croissant was good but not our favorite thing we tried. We will be back

Went back to this place again and tried Baba's Eggs and the Honey Walnut Crepes with strawberries. Also tried their iced lattes. So good and such a cool space. Food is so so tasty. Highly recommend.

A PERFECT BALANCE IN LIBRA I just have to recommend Cafe Libra --a vibrant and delicious spot with true European vibes and flavors. How many democratically priced places do you know that bake their own bread fresh daily? And grind their own meats? And yes--it's 100% halal! Handcrafted drinks, amazing ice cream, and all the refreshments you need this summer. And did I mention the outdoor patio? It's cozy and shaded by tree branches and colorful umbrellas--like something out of a storybook. The customer service is top-notch, which is something you can't take for granted these days. They even created a special little grassy area for our four-legged friends, complete with a water bowl and crunchy treats. Happiness for all! Libra Cafe truly strikes the perfect balance--just like its name suggests. So, when you find yourself hungry and thirsty in the Andersonville neighborhood, absolutely go there!

Loved the food and service. The portions are huge. Had the Balkan Burger. Meat was perfectly cooked and tasty.

Quick service, cute coffee shop that you could work or chat in, but also has a full menu! I will definitely be back to work during the week. Pastry was super tasty

    Ice cream

Drinks were good however ice cream was served in extremely small portions( around a 1/4 of the cup) even though I paid 4 dollars and 41 cents. I could have gotten almost a pint of ice cream at the store for this. The ice cream was mediocre... there were two workers, one of them was vey nice, but the other accused of not paying for some of our ice cream even though everybody paid separately before he came and charged me. It ruined the ambiance for me and my friends.

Came here for a quick brunch. The food, service and ambience were excellent! I'll be stopping by again soon!

Black Sesame Matcha Latte - while the black sesame graininess settled at the bottom expectedly, the matcha was clearly whisked well. There were no clumps of bitterness to be found. Despite sugar adjustments, this was still very sweet so I'd classify the spot as more desserty rather than strong matcha or a cafe. Though I'm happy to be proven wrong with their regular matcha in the future.

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.
