My favorite place to go when I'm working remote and don't have a lot of teams meetings! Their matcha is very good and not terribly expensive (it's Chicago so it's not dirt cheap either but what do you expect) and the atmosphere is bright and charming. There's plenty of seating and outlets. I love the little loft area up high. Only criticism is if you come here to work when it's busy, the WiFi sometimes gets overloaded and becomes really spotty.
The place is so nice and cozy for studying and the perk is they are open late. I got their banana matcha latte and I would give it a 2/5 as it was super watery and no taste at all. It really tasted like watered down. I can definitely taste the milk but no banana. They also have food options as well. The service was good and they greeted you nice you enter the door. I would be back but trying other things on the menu. Really disappointed in the matcha, I thought would be creamy.
Cute little cafe, they have free paper so u can make origami. So fun and cute. I got the thai tea latte. Perfect amount of sweetness, it isnt too sweet, just the right amount.

I saw people working there so I guess it's a good spot for studying and doing work. Also open later than other cafes so a plus for the area.
This little cafe is so cute, very cozy! They have many different sitting area around the cafe, from the first floor to the second. I will say, it does get pretty busy, we were lucky to get a table. Right when our order was ready. The pandan honey toast was amazing! I will say that it is on the heavier side, because it is so sweet but I would definitely get it again! The toast was nice and warm as well. My only complaint is that the plastic silverware made it difficult to cut the toast into bite sizes. Not the biggest deal, I just felt goofy shaking the whole table, trying to cut my bread.
The strawberry matcha was delicious! Pretty sweet but I loved it. My friend got a pecan cookie but I didn't have any. There's plenty of indoor seating and the service was friendly. I do think they are a little understaffed bc we did wait a while for our items. If u r in a rush, I wouldn't recommend but I would come back for a coffee date!
This place has been here 2 years (it's 5/25/2025) and the location is amazing for anything Asian from a seventeen (K-pop) pop up store to Japanese food to Thai or Korean and Chinese and lots of boba places and a Japanese cafe with yummy honey toast with ice cream at OMI. So you will love the area and you will love this place OMI! They have free WiFi, amazing and fun dessert and boba teas, and a bilevel area for additional seating. It's so quiet and the music is not obnoxiously loud. In fact it's like a low volume background noise that's calming. I really hate places that blast music so this kind of goes with the motif and culture of anything Japanese which is ultra respectful and quiet and reserved. Alice was super sweet and friendly and just a cool girl. It was so nice talking to her and the desserts were so good.
Came here with couple of my girlfriends and let me tell you, the vibes in this cafe is cute as hell. Great spot to come to do school, work, or study. I wasn't a fan of their biscoff latte but the lychee smoothie is a must try. Sweet, refreshing, and light. The toast was a hit. The workers were all so kind.

We came here as a group, and we were happy to see that there was a larger table in the cafe. We ordered: +OMi OMi Shibuya Honey Toast - a Japanese-style honey toast topped with vanilla ice cream, sliced strawberries, whipped cream, and powdered sugar with a side of honey +and OMi OMi Kakigori - milk-flavored shaved ice topped with cheesecake, sliced strawberries, and cream, served with a side of strawberry puree; the menu stated this would also include blueberries and mint, which were not included +a Fresh Milk Ube & Taro - prepared with ube and taro with organic milk; I requested this to be extra hot, which they delivered +UJI Matcha Latte - prepared with matcha, cream, and milk; opted for the iced version Everything was presented nicely, and I really enjoyed my drink, as it was just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. They had certain items that are out, but doesn't state anywhere in the restaurant - we were curious about the Corn Latte, but this wasn't available. The cafe itself is super bright and the space was well-utilized where it didn't feel cramped at all. I loved their decor, such as their little tree in the corner and the little figurines and plushies. Staff were very friendly; tables could have been wiped down and attended to for the next party. Their drinks are good. Of all the drinks we ordered ,their thai style latte is the best. We like the chill vibe. Definitely a place you a can go to read a good book or study. I think our experience would have been better if our cashier would have greeted us or acted like he was happy to see us.
Everyone has an Ube something these days and this Ube latte does not Ube. It's delicious nonetheless. I got it hot since it was freezing that day and we popped in here after lunch to warm up, caffeinate and catch up. It's super chill and definitely an open space to relax with a cup or a friend.

The short of it: great place to cool down from the sun, wire variety of tasty beverages for everyone and a good variety of food. I had the brown sugar boba milk tea (lowered the sweet) - so refreshing on a super hot day! The pork bun was melt-in-your-mouth perfect. Had to remote work for an hour or so, and the wifi was solid. Every seat has an electrical outlet and there's plenty of seating inside. There's even a kids table with coloring books. read more

My family and I went here after having lunch nearby. Very nice, clean, and spacious interior with a decent amount of tables, a small "upper level" space with more tables, and some small windowside bench seating with small tables. They also had a rocking horse and a small throwing game that our toddler definitely enjoyed, haha. The employees were really kind and helpful. They have bathrooms in the back but you'll need to get a code from the front. We had just eaten so we weren't too hungry to try any of the food items or toasts. I ordered an iced oolong milk tea with boba, my wife got a hot uji matcha latte, and we shared an ama affogato. The ama affogato was tasty. The vanilla flavor was good and the texture was creamy, and the espresso was strong. The description said it has homemade Japanese pudding but I don't recall ours having that, but it was good overall. Unfortunately we were disappointed in both of our drinks as neither of them had much tea flavor and just seemed pretty diluted. The boba was decently chewy though. Based on other reviews I can consider the possibility that this is not how their drinks usually are, so I'm willing to come back at some point and try again. I'll also try some of the food and toasts that they offer since those did look good. Will update this review accordingly if anything changes. read more

Wow the Shibuya honey toast (5/5) with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and strawberries was absolutely delicious! It was a little on the pricey side and came out to approximately $16 after tax and tip but honestly it was a huge generous portion and definitely enough to split between two people in my opinion. It was so good and tasted a lot like French toast! We also got the ama affogado and felt like this one was more of a 3.5/5. The coffee was super high quality and flavorful but the only thing was that there were pieces of pudding (?) inside the affogado which gave the dessert a strange texture in my opinion. I would get this again but would ask them to remove the pudding if I come back again. This is a nice large space with lots of study tables and seating. Very cutely decorated and kind patient staff as well! read more
OMi is a new Asian dessert shop that my friends and I stumbled upon. I loved the aesthetic of this chic, minimalist, but open cafe. The staff and baristas were super friendly and nice. We got a variety of things: Premium Thai Coffee : it was the best Thai coffee Ive ever had in my life. It was a deep, bold coffee and tasted very rich. Also the packaging was so cute. Strawberry Bingsoo : it was a little expensive for the size, but the bingsoo was so smooth. The strawberries were super fresh, along with the extra jam they gave. The whipped cream was also fresh and tasted like it was made in house. It was devoured in seconds. Thick toast: my friends loved it but thick toast was never my thing. I thought it was a bit too soft for my liking. However, the ice cream was amazing. I can't wait to come back on my next trip to Chicago and go to their speakeasy ;) read more

We were lured in with reviews for ube soft serve and yet again we miss it. Flavors seem to rotate every 3 weeks. Settled on an iced oatmilk mocha and an ube taro hot tea with boba. Both were good. Lots of seating. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms. Will be back! read more

OMi is such a cute cafe! They have so many food and drink options, it's a great place to get brunch. I got their Spicy Tuna bowl and it was amazing! It was plated very nicely and came with a side salad. I also got their mango iced tea with boba and it was the perfect balance of sweetness. I don't like when fruit teas are too sweet but this one was just right. My friends got the Thai Tea latte, Strawberry Cheesecake shaved ice, and mango smoothie. The shaved ice was so good, I think it was my favorite. The interior was also decorated very well, lots of bright colors and cute designs. The cafe itself is a bit on the small side but doesn't feel cramped at all. The workers were also very nice. I'd definitely come back if I am back in Chicago. read more

When I first walked by, I had to stop. The inside is so cute and would be a great spot to study or have a coffee date. The staff is super friendly and the owner is amazing. I have come here roughly once a week and i usually get the soft serve which flavors change pretty often or I get their honey toast! Both are not too sweet and a perfect portion for someone to share. I am definitely going to be back. read more

Americano suffers from the same dilution that others have complained about. So watered down, barely any flavor. Definitely overpriced compared to the drink quality. The drink packaging is cute, but I hope the business owner switches manufacturers for the top pull-off lid of the bottle- the pull tab just ripped off, and I had to use a broken wooden stick to stab through and pull the actual lid part off. A bit worried about small metal particles/shavings when doing so, so be careful if you find yourself in the same situation. The good part about this place is that it's very spacious, with very cute vibes for studying or hanging out with friends. The employees are also super nice. read more
This was my first time going here and I saw they had shaved ice cream beforehand which is what I was wanting so came here after dinner. They close @10 and I came @9:40 which I know it close to there closing time but still wanted to give it a try. There was still a bunch of people there. I was asking the worker recommendations and what came in the shaved ice and she was explaining it to me and I ordered it. After all that, then told me they actually already cleaned their machine which I was sad I wasn't able to try it. Ended up trying their fresh strawberry milk and it was very artificial tasting which was disappointing considering it's called FRESH strawberry milk. So delicious! The French toast was paired so well with the cold rich matcha flavored ice cream. The center does is a softer from soaking in the melted ice cream, while the edges are crunchy and crispy. It was paired with the a scoop of subtle sweet red bean paste, and maple syrup; it honestly didn't need to syrup since it already had a sweet & rich taste from the matcha. Would definitely come back to try their other items of the menu. My only critique is the placement of the tables, if you have a party of two or more, the seating areas to the side of the cafe makes one of you feel like you're either towering or hunching over to eat. read more
Overall review: 3.5/5 My fiancé and I were around the area and would rate this as mid. We tried the boba (oolong and strawberry green tea) which was definitely watered down and catered a more non Asian community. The only thing we liked was the shaved ice (omi omi) which wasn't too sweet. Other than that, we wouldn't come here again if we were around the area. Cute spot though to study! read more
Beyond glad I get to have this spot right down the road from my apartment. The atmosphere in OMi is relaxing and cozy; quiet enough to read, but the music is still loud enough to soothe you. My main go to is the Chai Latte. The balance of sweet and spice is impressive; I usually have to tell coffee shops to tone down the sugar, but this came out perfect. I've also had their Taro Ice Cream which was TO DIE FOR. The consistency and flavor are unmatched. Lastly, every single staff member is delightful and friendly. I feel welcomed each time and that's why I keep coming back. read more
