What's in this photo? All that's left from the Cheesie Biscuit my daughter ordered. It was devoured before I knew what was happening. I'm visiting with her from NC, and 11 Degrees is her favorite breakfast joint. My Eggie Biscuit was equally tasty, the egg had a flavorful saltiness to it. Overall, 6 out of 6 stars for the food, and the young lady at the counter was great too!

Amazing local find!! The smoothies were delicious as well as the arepas. The space and menu felt so unique. The service was good and while I found the prices a little high, I think it's worth it!

Came back for round 2 with my fiance and boy was he delighted. He ordered a breakfast arepa. After telling me how much he loves the food between bites he also made sure to tell me how much he looooves me and how good my recommendations are. I had to go for round 2 on the cheesie sandwich. After extensive breakfast sandwich research in the north side of Chicago, I can confidently say this is my favorite one. From my first bite to my last all I can think is "oh my god this is the best thing I've ever eaten". Demolished in 10 bites. And so satisfied. Horchata latte was not my taste, but that doesn't mean it's not yours, so definitely still try it and make your own opinion! 10/10 on my second visit

All I can say is what a gem this place is! We'd been eating breakfast at a bagel place close to our hotel... every morning. The place is close and the food is good, but when I saw 11 Degrees North just a short walk the other way I knew we had to go. The space is small, but comfortable. Menus cover the walls and are readily available in yelp pictures. They also have a website with all breakfast and drink options listed with all details. We were the first ones in the door after they opened. After being greeted with a smile, we ordered coffee while we reviewed the menu. So many options! We opted for the Havana and Santa Monica arepas. As we were enjoying our coffee, our food was brought from the kitchen and they let us know to come pick it up. These sandwiches were huge and hot and so delicious. The way my Santa Monica was filled provided different tastes from the top to the bottom. Cheese, egg and bacon were the immediate stars. The sausage was large enough to make it nearly to the bottom of the arepa. The chive cream cheese was more towards the bottom, so that flavor kicked in a little later. The last couple of bites were mostly arepa, which was great. The corn flavor was very fresh. With so many options, 11 Degrees North will be our breakfast go to for the next couple of mornings before we head home.

Curiosity draws me to 11 Degrees North. It looks intimate. 11 Degrees North reminds me of a cafe that I would find in a small town or it would make a perfect backdrop for a film. Joseph uses Ritual, a food app to order for me lunch. Seeing that I follow a vegetarian diet, he orders the vegetarian bowl. This comes with sliced avocados, sliced mushrooms, tomatoes, and lettuce on top of a bed or rice. It tastes heavenly. When I go to pick up my order, the wait staff gives it to me quickly. No hassles and done with ease, I like that. Come to 11 Degrees North for lunch or supper. Bring friends, family or even a date.

June 2025 menu - A large blackboard menu features handwritten listings of coffee, signature drinks, and tea options at a cafe. The menu includes various coffee beverages such as drip, cold brew, espresso, latte, cappuccino, and specialty drinks like lavender latte and signature Caribbean drinks. Prices are listed for different sizes, with additional options and add-ons. The menu also offers tea, chai latte, matcha latte, and hot tea, along with milk options. The board is mounted on a wooden wall, with a small container at the bottom right corner.

Ordered a caribbean coffee. The creme of coconut and caramel is a mixed syrup, so you can't get less of one, and I prefer the real thing. But this place has the best pricing out of a lot of other cafes which is a win for a go to coffee place. Feel like i cant write an adequate review without trying their food, but hey my experience was great and the worker was super patient and helpful.

After passing this place for years we decided to check it out. Tucked between N Halsted and N Clark is an amazing little Venezuelan Arepa shop with great coffee. We stopped by around 10:30am just as the morning crowd was easing up and ordered the Havana, Island Pork, and La Pelua arepa. Honestly they are all so flavorful and filling you probably just need one per person, but each has a unique flavor. The staff was friendly and didn't rush us as we were browsing the menu. The pork is tender and flavorful while the arepa itself is gluten free but compliments the filling well. We also ordered the Caribbean Iced Coffee and the Dulce de Leche Latte. The Caribbean has coconut and coconut flavoring that you would think would be overpowering but actually isn't and adds a fun twist. The place itself only had about 6 tables and the food comes out in these little metal holders. The only issue we ran into was the table was a little sticky from a prior patron so we covered it with napkins while we ate.

The background includes a brick wall, electrical outlets, and some metal furniture, indicating an indoor setting, possibly a casual dining or food preparation area.

Before today I only got smoothies at 11 degrees north. Probably some of the best in the area for the price and ingredients. The employees are always pleasant and it's pretty quick to place an order, check out, and recieve your order. It's a small little place but there is definitely plenty of seating for you to sit by yourself or grab a bite with a friend or two. It's in a really good spot too, right by the Belmont red line station so you can grab some breakfast on your way to work!

This place is spectacular! Small cafe with about 6 tables & a huge menu of different sandwiches, drinks, and smoothie bowls. I had the La Pelua Arepa and it was incredible. The shredded beef was so flavorful. My friends loved their biscuit & bagel sandwiches as well. It seems like you can't go wrong with what you pick - everything is amazing! Service was great, the woman behind the register gave me awesome recommendations.

Great neighborhood spot where you can come and grab and bite and drink, or juts grab a coffee and go. If you drive to this location note that it is in a busy location and parking can be scarce depending on the day. I believe it's family owned and they are friendly. I got a iced honey oatmilk latte and it was pretty good, solid flavor.

Arepas are an incredible food but not enough people are talking about them. 11 Degrees North has a lot of delicious options and I believe they're all gluten free. They're not really set up for sitting at the restaurant due to limited space but you can easily grab your food to go. I'd highly recommend everyone give it a try.

Arepa Pabellón - A close-up of an arepa, a traditional Venezuelan cornmeal bread, filled with shredded cheese and shredded meat. The arepa is placed on a brown paper tray, with some cheese and meat visible on top. The background shows a dark table surface and part of a chair, indicating a casual dining setting.

Delicious. They have all the traditional flavors and some new combinations like bbq with goat cheese and plantains. If I lived here this would be a regular stop.

A true Venezuelan gem in the heart of Chicago's Loop!…read more As a Venezuelan, finding a place like Bien Me Sabe right in the middle of Chicago's financial district honestly blew my mind. Surrounded by office buildings and big companies, this spot brings a real taste of Venezuela to the Loop and people know it. I saw so many non-Venezuelans coming in for lunch, which says a lot about how good this place is. They serve arepas with huge, flavorful fillings, cachapas, and Venezuelan bowls that look and taste amazing. Everything was fresh, and the service was super fast and friendly. The empanaditas come in orders of three, same with the tequeños, and they're perfectly stuffed, small enough to try different flavors, which I loved. They also have natural juices. I had a passion fruit one and it was delicious, perfectly sweet, super cold, and really refreshing. They even sell Frescolita, Malta, and all those drinks that make Venezuelans instantly nostalgic. There's plenty of space to sit, and the location couldn't be more convenient. Honestly, this place is a 10 out of 10. Whether you're grabbing something quick or sitting down for lunch, it's perfect. The portions are generous, the food is complete, protein, carbs, flavor, everything you need in one plate. It's not the cheapest spot in town, but that's just how Venezuelan food is, and trust me, it's absolutely worth every dollar. If you're in Chicago, especially around the Loop, and want something truly Venezuelan, Bien Me Sabe is the place to go.

We were in the Chi already visiting Atlas Stationary as a self-proclaimed station and fountain pen freak so we figured why not?!? I had heard great things about Carnivale prior to so please note that prior reservations were already made but regardless, it was all our first times there and we were stoked to finally try this place out. When we first got there, the outside was very unassuming. Some awesome graffiti on the wall (yes, angel wings included) and lots of color which made me so happy! As we entered, we were greeted by lots of colored flora on the walls and the floor. It led to a beautiful lounge where we checked in. The hostess was quite kind and they escorted us to another room that had multiple floors, two I believe. We were sitting in the main dining area where dining tables were set up and the ceiling lights and decorations were super-duper colorful. It was brightly lit and festive. Seriously, the colors alone could make anyone happy and do a serious dopamine overload which was fine with me. We sat down, was introduced to our server, Oscar and then given menu's. I genuinely thought that this place was pretty small initially because it looked small from the outside but boy was I wrong! This place was MASSIVE. But! I digress, now that we had our menu's-- Let the party begin!! We started with the ceviche tasting which included four types of ceviche; shrimp, Yucatan style hamachi, salmon and tuna. All were really good with their own really distinct flavors but our top favorites were the salmon and the tuna. The salmon had a kick while the tuna had a great balance of heat and sweetness. Great way to start of this dinner! My bestie ordered coconut shrimp and smoked mushroom croquettes for her main meal. My hubs ordered the carne asado while I ordered the lechon asada. I also want to add that we ordered Mexican street corn on the side alongside mashed potatoes and Peruvian Jalea. Ah and before I forget, we also ordered our drinks which consisted of a: sangria, margarita, Cotton Candy Cosmo and Salva Honduran Pilsner. All were spectacular and made the night that more enjoyable as well! When we received our food. We were all really enjoyed it as we all shared our bites amongst one another. The coconut shrimp was well breaded and you tasted the coconut as well. The shrimps were large and juicy. The smoked mushroom croquettes were good with a smokey flavor and good breading, however, the breading may have a been a little thick because you couldn't really taste the mushroom,m unfortunately. The carne asado was the star of the show. Well seasoned steak, cooked medium rare which was juicy and succulent. The lechon asado was good. Although I'm not used to eating lechon asado that is covered in sauce, the sauce was super tasty so I didn't mind the tender, juicy pork that was covered in it. I really enjoyed it. I think the only thing that I wish was different with regards to my lechon asado is that I wish it were hotter because it was luke warm when I received it. Other than that, it was....*chef's kiss*. The Mexican street corn was alright, it honestly just tasted like regular corn with mayonaise in it with some cheese. Didn't add anything significant to the meal. The mashed potatoes were soft but not too soft and buttery. They were really good and then the Purvian Jalea was another favorite, super good! The calamari, fish and shrimp with the Purvian Jalea were absolutely delicious; fresh, tasty and well breaded. It was absolutely yummalicious. To top the night off, they gave me a little birthday treat of cotton candy and carmel popcorn. We also had some tres leches which was so yummy because the fruit was fresh and you could taste the milk in the tender cake and then we had the chocolate cigar. The chocolate cigar was also really good, everything except the label was edible, It was smokey, chocolately and delectable. It's presentation was also so creative. We all loved it. Overall, this restaurant is SUPER PRICY but SUPER WORTH IT. I am so glad that I was able to go there to celebrate a special occasion because it would not be a place that I could go to on a regular basis but as much as I wish I was, ya girl ain't rich like that. The service was superb, the employees were kind, the food was fire and drinks were scrumptious. If you're looking for a fun, Latin cuisine inspired, creative, yummy way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion with a fun Latin twist--look no further, that is it! Check it out and you won't be disappointed. Now, I'm sorry for my novel and you may now go back to your normal programming schedule. If you do end up coming here and loving it -- i told ya so ;)

The beef empanada came in a large portion, and I really enjoyed it. The beef was well seasoned, flavorful, and had a fantastic texture. It wasn't too bready. I loved the green and slightly creamy sauce they served with the empanada. Great. The cheese pastelitos were probably my least favorite of the few items I tried, I thought they weren't all that flavorful, but definitely weren't bad by any means. Filling was decent with a good amount of cheese, but just not a ton of flavor to them. All in all, a very nice place to get street food type of items and more substantial items too, like cachapas and arepas. I'd definitely recommend this spot.
