They sell boxes of four, nine, and sixteen, any of which would serve as a nice gift for various occasions. My wife gave some as hostess gifts for a few events that she attended this year, and in turn I got her some for Mother's Day. There are traditional western varieties such as hazelnut, praline, coffee, and vanilla, as well as fruity options and other Filipino-inspired flavors. Delicious Chocolates!! I was in need of a special chocolate gift and I heard about this place and thought I would give it a try. The store has a minimalist aesthetic with the chocolates providing the color and focus. There is a large glass wall with a view of the candy makers in action. The owner's are from the Philippines and the beans used in their chocolates are from their farm in the Philippines. I ordered an assortment of beautiful bon bons and pralines. I had high hopes for this establishment because their candy seemed very similar to a shop in Beverly Hills. Service was great and store was very clean. The candies are very attractive but unfortunately most just taste like dark chocolate even with pistachio filling or peanut butter and jelly (to name a couple). I would not take the drive from the city again. read more

Hands down on the taste and presentation of these chocolates. A friend showed me the IG photo and he said hants to try it. Did research the company and it is indeed Filipino-owned Nd beans came from Samar. Excited too that their chocolates have pilinuts. My fave. The lady gave us samples. Eveything I tasted are so yummy and creamy. I love the ube and love the kape krunch! They are kinda pricey BUT you pay for the quality and taste! Bonbons are good especially the kalamansi. I love the chocolate covered pilinuts. The lady let me try the Pili spread. It is so good! They dont have any available for sale that day so i will surely be back next time. Reading about this place and its tie to the Philippines is the main reason I wanted to check this place out. I'm not an expert in chocolate by no means but the lady at the counter was a little helpful. She gave me samples and told me I was welcome to try others. I would have tried them all but I would feel guilty. So I just bought a $25 box that has 9 pieces and asked her for her suggestions. I plan on eating one chocolate a day, savoring every piece cause this is some expensive chocolate! No joke. But I have to say each bite is delicious. We recently came across this chocolatier at a pop up event showcasing Filipino and Filipino-American owned businesses. We fell in love at first taste and bought a few items from them. We have since been craving their award-winning chocolates and traveled to Norridge to get some more. The display was awesome, and the customer service top notch! You could see their chocolate lab from the store front but the owner graciously gave us a tour of their bean to bar operations. The smell of roasting beans and chocolate was intoxicating and immediately made us feel better about - - - we'll, everything! You know what they say about chocolate increasing the chemicals serotonin and dopamine in the brain? Well, the mere aroma of chocolate at Chocs 'N Boxes made us feel good already! We bought a few bars of their Dark Chocolate Calbayog 78% (named after the town in Samar, Philippines where the chocolate is sourced), their award-winning Bahandi (a Visayan word meaning wealth) 40% Milk Chocolate, and White Chocolate Ivoire 39%. We also got a taste of their Calamansi Caramel Bonbon, which was recently recognized at the International Chocolate Awards with a bronze award. After biting into the rich, smooth chocolate, we savored the fresh tang of calamansi, which is a Philippine lime that looks like a tiny, green mandarin orange which packs a lot of flavor in a tiny quarter-sized orb. The citrus played well with the sweet and smoky taste of caramel. Perfection in a single bite! We gave away the bars that we bought to some friends and our children and intend to buy more as gifts. Chocolatiers Gerry and Sailyn Dean, and Noel Santos (whose background is in patisserie) don't take any shortcuts. We saw for ourselves how they patiently roast the fermented and dried beans, winnow and grind the beans, refine the chocolate liquor, temper, formulate and mold the chocolate into bars, bonbons and truffles. The result of their hard work? Scrumptious and just melt-in-your-mouth, creamy, velvety confections that are so complex in flavor and yet so familiar, it feels like a hug from someone you love. We definitely recommend this place to all chocoholics, their families and friends. We will come back for more and have plans of using their products in cooking and baking some chocolate goodies this holiday season! read more

This chocolatier is truly one of a kind. They source their cacao from their own farm in the Philippines and make everything in house. The chocolates taste so fresh, not too sweet and I really appreciate that they infused all these wonderful flavors like guava, ube, pili nuts, calamari into their bon bons. It's such a delight! This is the kind of chocolate shop that people would flock to if it were in a walkable downtown location. Yet, I'm lucky it's a 15 minute drive for me, hidden on the corner of a strip mall near O'Hare. Since the people who run this shop also run their cocao farm in the Philippines, you walk in and immediately sense the love poured into the start-to-finish production of the most yummy treat. This is absolutely the finest chocolate around. Nothing beats it. Even better, in trying to avoid sugar, I thought I'd miss the enjoyment of quality chocolate. Not so, with their diabetic and keto friendly selection. As someone who craves dark chocolate regularly, the zero sugar bars are marvelously tasty and I'd never even know they were sweetened with erythritol and monk fruit rather than sugar!
