First of all, the amount of reviews that are meant for the OTHER location is annoying, it's over half of them. Please make sure you are writing a review for the Touhy Fruity in the HIP MALL. Anyway, this place has GREAT food. The spicy ramen and shrimp springs rolls go hard. Bubble tea is delicious. However, service takes FOREVER. I called in for 3 items, came by around 20 minutes later like they said, and I still had to wait about 10-15 more. Whenever I'm on my break (I work at this mall) and get a bubble tea, I spend half my break just waiting for it. Might as well go to the FroYo place 2 stalls down if I wanted quicker service. If the problem is being understaffed, why not just hire more people? I didn't see a hiring sign anywhere. That being said, although slow, the employees ARE friendly. The girl with red/orange hair who pronounces "cilantro" in a Spanish accent is my favorite. Super kind, very approachable, very cool. Also like the guy who looks to be about in his late 20s-early 30s, pale, facial hair, maybe was a cook? I've only seen him once but I really liked his attitude and the way he spoke to me when orders seemed to get mixed up. NOT a fan of the older man who works here. He made things a little complicated, when I asked him for a mall employee discount he said "Oh, we don't do that anymore. No one does!". ?????. This mall has been doing this for YEARS, what are you talking about? All of a sudden we've stopped? I got the feeling he was lying. When I looked over at the other employee working they also looked at him weird, which confirmed my suspicions. When they were prepping my order he seemed to mix things up and confuse everyone, including me, the person who MADE the order. I will not be ordering if I see this man behind the counter again. Overall, very good establishment, unfortunately some hiccups here and there. Hope the slow service issue is fixed at some point. read more

You know, I think I had the owner and I'm going to give this a bad review. I ordered 2 items that hit $25 and it takes a while to make, and he ends with "anything else?" About 5 minutes in I arrive back, there's now a 2nd customer waiting in line, and he says to them "just 1 sec." So, about 5 more minutes he finished my stuff, and I felt like saying to him "you know, you shouldn't have said "anything else?" that would just make the people wait more. And you shouldn't have said to them "just 1 sec" you should have said "1 more minute."" But why say that to him when there's already people waiting? He won't absorb as much. read more

Currently in the food court. I decided to give this place a try. I was very impressed by the spring roll. It was wrapped tightly and well made. It was a nice, light lunch as opposed to all of the other options in the food court. There's fried onion or crispy onion. The girl let me get one of each. I don't know which one was which but the crispy crumbs added a lot of flavor which I liked. We got two bubble tea drinks. I got regular sweetness for hubs and less sweet for mine. They were both too sweet. I'm sure both were probably powder. I didn't mind the milk tea one but I thought his horchata one tasted gross. What an awesome place! The sign is hard to see. I couldn't find it at first. You have to enter through the nail salon. Odd, but ok. It is smaller than I thought it would be. This food kiosk is one of the best-kept secrets in the HIP mall. Are you bored of fried foods? Tired of sandwiches or pizza? Look no further. Touhy Fruity's got you. I walked by this place for a whole year, thinking it was a boba/smoothie cafe. Then while I was waiting for my food next door, I happened to glance at their menu on the wall. My jaw dropped and my food-court prayers were answered! Holy FRESH and SPICY ramen! I am in love with the Spicy Korean Ramen, and the Shrimp Spring Rolls. For the ramen: make sure you get the ramen with pork. You get your choice of protein. I feel like the pork adds a nice flavor and works well with all of those fresh veggies that come with it. Also, make sure when you order, to tell them whether it is to eat in the food court, to take to your break room, or to take home. This tells them how to pack your ramen. If you're taking it home, they will put the broth in a separate container from your bowl of pasta, meat, and veggies. If you're taking it to your break room, they might ask you how to pack it. Either the way I just mentioned, or they will put it all into the bowl so you can eat it right away once you get back to your break room. Again with the ramen, make sure you get the toasted garlic garnish and the lime. Make sure you use both in your ramen. They do have red pepper flakes and Sriracha sauce you can ask for as well. Ask for chop sticks if you're a fan. To me, I can't enjoy my ramen without them. The employees won't put them in your bag, so you have to ask nicely, and they will give you some. Just make sure not to stab your food, and always rest your chopsticks on the side of the bowl. Do not rest them in a bowl like you might with a spoon! For the shrimp spring rolls. They are the best value when considering the many times you've probably been to the food court and purchased food where you got too much and you weren't that hungry. These spring rolls are healthy and they are the perfect snack or lite meal to hold you over until the end of your shift. When you order, they will ask if you want peanut sauce or sweet and sour sauce. I suggest the peanut sauce. Also, I like Hoisin sauce. They won't pack it with this appetizer, but you can ask for it. It's very tasty and fun to switch between this and the peanut sauce for dipping. I have been here several times and I just don't always remember to check in. Definitely call ahead if you don't have much time to eat. The ramen takes about 20 minutes to put together and pack it up as nicely as they do. I seriously feel like VIP whenever I take my food away from there in the sturdy paper bag, with the food secured inside in their containers, and protected further in plastic bags so that everything stays dry should the main container leak, which never happens! The staff is very friendly! If ramen isn't your thing, they do have the boba teas and the smoothies. Check out their salads too! I leave here happy all the time! Give Touhy Fruity a try! read more

I've been on this s'mores kick (s'mores bourbon for my birthday at The Chicago Diner, s'mores milkshake at Lickity Split Frozen Custard & Sweets) since summer and now I found a new place to go: Touhy Fruity. I originally ordered a s'mores milkshake, and the prep lady misunderstood the cashier. I stood there staring at her making this rolled ice cream thinking my milkshake was being made by someone else in the back. Then once I realized the misunderstanding, I wanted this anyway. Weird, but I appreciate the honesty. The drink was okay, but ended up throwing half of it out because it just wasn't very good. The kid working there could not have been nicer, more friendly, or helpful. I might return to try the giant crepes, but I would not buy another bubble tea from here. The ice cream though- It was very bland, had a weird after taste (my mind was set to thinking it tastes like nail polish) because the smell was so pungent. Aside from the really strong nail salon smell (this place is attached to a nail salon...you literally have to walk into the salon to get to it) the kid making the ice cream would not stop adjusting his hat while prepping! He put on his gloves and proceeded to pick up his phone and put it in his pocket...right, you needed the gloves to do that. The rag he was using to wipe off the scrapers (not sure if they were even food grade) looked like it had been being used all day. Very small place, nowhere to sit and it took 30 minutes to get our ice cream! My kids ordered the Oreo Crunch and S'mores rolled ice cream. My son had the Oreo crunch and said it was just ok. He didn't even finish it. What kid doesn't finish their ice cream... and my daughter liked her s'mores but still said the rolls didn't taste like anything.. these definitely looked better than they tasted. Meh is a good way to describe this place. The concept is cool and the presentation is nice but the flavor just isn't there... the Oreo rolled ice cream just tastes like the sweet and condensed milk they use to make it, you can't really taste the Oreo. The staff was nice enough but we asked for Nutella drizzled on top and the guy making the ice cream said "no that doesn't go good together" even after we said we would obviously pay the extra 50 cents for it. I saw this place just opened and wanted to try it out. It was very clean and the people that worked there were super friendly and helpful! They let us know that some of their menu items have changed and that they had a special going for crepes and bubble teas. I went with a crepe even though the rolled ice cream looked really good. I got a build your own crepe with Nutella and strawberries and it was made perfectly! It was a great little snack for my day! The ice cream is fun and not bad at all. Stay away from the bubble tea. It is horrible and I'm not trying to be mean. I wasn't expecting as good as you can get in California or Asia at all. I already knew before drinking by the color (got the black tea bubble tea). I told the staff to make a new batch for the next customers. Tale of two experiences. The rolled oreo ice cream was a hit with the kids as the presentation and first time trying rolled ice cream was a unique experience. The mint chip bubble tea was horrible. Tasted powdery, artificial, and nothing like mint chip. The tapioca balls, or its equivalent, was hard and inedible. When we told the staff about our feedback, it was brushed off.
