Beautiful interior with a great view. I've never had a salmon bagel before so this was new to me! I took a recommendation from the staff and I was pleasantly surprised with what I had encountered. The salmon was fresh and tasty, the bagel was crisp, and the eggst other toppings fell right into place. I had some great staff help me navigate the menu and the environment was very hospitable. I'm interested in trying the rest of the menu.. 6/10
Great service. Adorable decor. Great atmosphere. Grabbed a cappuccino with oat milk and a vegan scone. And the barista called me. "Mara-leen" in this most beautiful accent.
The interior is absolutely stunning here. We loved the 20s vibes and how aesthetic everything is! It was very busy since we went on a Sunday morning but the service was steady. The food was pretty average but better than a chain coffee shop for sure! Definitely worth the visit just for how quaint the neighborhood is.
This cafe is stunning. It is ornately decorated and has lots of character. I ordered an Iced latte with a Nutella strawberry croissant. The coffee was a little strong for my liking, and the croissant was a smidge dry inside. I was very pleased with the ambiance, the customer service, and the overall vibe.
This cafe is just adorable! I loved the colorfulness, unique decor, and ambiance. It was work friendly (not super meeting friendly as the music is on the louder side) with lots of seating. The food looked a little expensive but I thoroughly enjoyed it and their dirty chai latte was pretty good!
Beautiful interior design worth seeing. The staff was also pleasant when taking our order and with timeliness; however, neither of us liked our coffees. The beans were too burnt and overly roasted for our developed palates.
Cafe Deko is a beautiful coffee shop!!! Staff members were friendly and kind. Pastry case and well as food for order. Pastries come warmed up if dining in. Latte was a little milky, but still good.
Beautiful location in a calm street - sitting possible inside and outside. On weekends there is a screen-free policy which is a real advantage... Nice selection of food - salty and sweet
A little out of the way from where I was staying, but I'm so glad I made the trip. Ambience and decoration of the restaurant is so beautiful and helps you enjoy your food more. I ordered a guava cheese croissant which was delicious and filling. Definitely recommend this place to start your day!
Very glam and comfy environment. With friendly staff. They have menus by the ordering counter. I had a latte and iced tea. Both were great. I recommend the Halloumi & Egg Sandwich . As well as the Prosciutto Butter Croissant. Great combination of flavors for both sandwiches. The dressing on the greens salad was tasteful. It came with the sandwiches. Also had a piece of Marble cake, just the right amount of sweetness and flavor. My favorite was the guava cheese croissant great flavor and lite.
Cute café with a really fun aesthetic! We were visiting from out of town and mainly came for the decor, which definitely did not disappoint. The coffee and food were good--nothing crazy, but solid. Overall, a cute spot to stop by if you're in the area, especially for the atmosphere and photo-worthy space.
I got a hot latte and a cheese guava danish. Both were pleasant and ready quickly. No qualms on the food and drink, but this is definitely a vibes/aesthetics cafe above all. Great photo opp. Nice place to sit and do work too. The only thing that made my experience unpleasant was that their light bulbs could use a change - a couple of them I was sitting by were flickering and it was quite distracting. Overall, I recommend visiting.
Such a beautiful coffee shop & cafe! We decided to grab breakfast here on my last day in Chicago. I chose a chai latte along with a Nutella & banana croissant. Delicious! Cafe is on a near street, with a bookstore across the way, and a wine bar next door. Will definitely visit again!
Swung by Cafe Deko for a quick coffee and some light bites with a couple of friends. Upon entering, I was left in awe of the ambience. Very art deco and impressive! We have to order at the counter and they bring your order to you. I got an iced latte and some orange cake with icecream. The latte was decent, nothing special there. The orange cake though!!!! Omg! It was so delish! The vanilla icecream complimented it well! The cake was dense and decadent with a nice citrusy tartness, exactly what I needed on a hot summer afternoon. I would totally be back, mainly for the photo ops and the orange cake! read more
Some friends recommended this spot so I knew I had to check it out for myself. The inside is gorgeous- golden birds on the lights, several chandeliers, a teal and gold patterned ceiling- everywhere you looked there was something to observe. Definitely not your minimalist, corporate coffee shop. They have a no laptop policy on the weekends but I came on a weekday morning so I had some work to get done and found it to be a decent work from home spot. Right after I ordered, all the seating was full so I snagged a seat at the counter. There wasn't a ton of space in the walkway behind me, and I felt that I was a bit in the way of the wait staff. Not a seat I would recommend. The staff was all very friendly about it though, and I was obviously welcome to be sitting there. Luckily a table cleared up and I was able to relocate. I never saw the place reach the capacity level I struggled with at my arrival so maybe I just had bad timing. The cold brew was good, and at my request came with a small glass pitcher of milk. I especially appreciated the coffee being served in a glass with an art deco inspired design, it's the little things that really pushed this place over top. If you love a cool coffee shop, this place is a must try. read more
Definitely on the map because of social media and the aesthetic, but I don't know that I'd say it's worth trekking for the hype. The coffee is great! But the breakfast sandwich is rather forgettable. Be prepared to wait a bit for a spot to sit, just since it's crowded, not because there isn't a lot of seating. read more

This has to be the cutest coffee shop. I felt like I had stepped into a Parisian cafe. The ambiance and decor are top notch. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing. Although they were really busy, I was still able to find street parking right in front. The line was long but moved fast. I was worried that I wouldn't find a place to sit, but people were quick and were leaving at a nice pace and I was able to find a table rather quickly. I had a caramel latte with oat milk and a breakfast sandwich. My order came out pretty quickly so no complaints there. The latte was just ok in my opinion. It wasn't anything special and was more reminiscent of hot chocolate than espresso. The breakfast sandwich was quite tasty on the other hand. My experience was solid and I will definitely be back to try another drink and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. read more
I just moved to the area and was eager to check Cafe Deko out! While waiting for my friend, I ordered a vanilla latte and their chocolate croissant. After sitting down for less than 2-3 minutes, my coffee was ready and shortly after the croissant was brought to me. If there's something I love, is a croissant that's properly filled and distributed with said filling. And this was it. On top of it looking beautiful, it was truly delicious. Also, they had a sign that on holidays they do "screen free" from tablets and laptops and I thought that was really cool (for context, I stopped by on Memorial Day). Even better, people were engaging with one another instead of their screens! It was a lovely, local coffee shop vibe and I can't wait to go back and try their breakfast and lunch menus. read more

Cafe Deko has beautiful aesthetics, and very different for a typical 'cute cafe' vibe. It's more elegant and explicit. The Cappuccino was just perfect! We also tried the Caprese sandwich, which was yummy. The service was pretty quick too. A great spot for a date or to hang out with friends. read more
This coffee shop was popping on my feed every time I look for Chicago coffee recommendations! I'm so glad I came because the aesthetic lived up to the hype. It's a small sized shop, so the waiting area was a bit of a squeeze. Everyone was bustling and moving fast though. I asked for a sticker, and the employee found one in the back for me that was just a regular cup sticker, but I cherish it for journaling!! My coffee was also verrryyyy delicious. The environment on Saturday afternoon warmed my soul! Today's a gloomy day and this Freddy Cappuccino with my book is brightening the day. I didn't know whether I wanted to get my typical Flat White or try something new. The lovely woman that took my order recommended the Freddy and I'm glad she did. The espresso provided a good pull and the foam on top was thick and smooth. If you like sweeter drinks, then definitely add some sugar. I'll be coming back for sure. read more

I was on a semi-spontaneous trip to chicago, and of course had to try a new coffee spot. Cafe Deko immediately grabbed my attention, but pictures don't do it justice. It's truly a gorgeous, art deco paradise. The vibes are immaculate. I ordered coffee and some treats which were as good as they look, and made myself comfy. This is clearly a hot spot with a constant stream of customers, and for good reason. If I lived here I'd be a regular. read more

My oh my! This is by far my favorite latest addition to the neighborhood. It's absolutely gorgeous! Want to visit every single day! I stopped in for lunch with a friend earlier this week. We have been long awaiting this spot to open. And it didn't disappoint! The longer you sit and look around the more detail you notice. I love all the decor and gold accents. They really put so much thought and effort into this. The wall paper is to diiiie for and the wall sconces..?! Cmon!! So cute! There is ample seating, but it does get full. We lucked out on a small table for two. But there is an assortment for high top/bar seating, couches, and small tables. They have Breakfast and lunch(sandwich) menu and a solid beverage menu. The lattes are fantastic and I really enjoyed my chipotle chicken sandwich (with crisps on the side). Their serve ware is of course-- so cute too! I will likely walk here each time because it's so close, but if you're driving, parking is sparse around here, as it's Printers Row. Not impossible, but definitely not easy. I would recommend public transportation. If you are reading this and haven't visited yet... Definitely stop by soon to take in the beautiful site. read more

Friendly and efficient staff and the Cortado is a perfect blend of excellent espresso and milk, the interior space feels like you are in Europe, one of the nicest I have reviewed! I had the best experience at Cafe Deko! What a wonderful place to visit first thing Saturday morning, the cafe was vibrant and bustling, fantastic ambiance to catch up with friends or read a book. Obviously, the interior design speaks for itself. I'm obsessed. The barista was very sweet and helpful when I asked what they recommend for a hot, sweet coffee. I went with their suggestion of a hot latte with oatmilk (boo for the nondairy milk upcharge though) and vanilla syrup "for here" and wow was that the right choice! As someone who almost exclusively prefers cold beverages for taste, this latte just hit it out of the park. It was legitimately one of the best coffees I've ever had. While there is a ton of seating for the size of the space, it's a popular spot so it might be tough to guarantee seating for large groups at peak hours. I also appreciated the coat rack, and two large private bathrooms they have available. Overall, I highly recommend visiting, I'd love to come back to Cafe Deko! read more

Ambiance (5/5): I LOVE the ambiance here, it's very England vibes, love the blue wallpaper and great business even though it's new!! A bit loud in here, so may be difficult to work here without headphones but the vibes are amazing! Coffee (4/5): Coffee itself was pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary. They had two specialty items as well including a maple cinnamon latte. read more

Visited this café with a friend and really liked the artistic interiors. The service was fast, and we ordered an iced latte, caprese, and orange cake. The caprese was light and healthy, and the coffee was great too. Overall, it's a lovely cafe for a nice brunch experience. read more
This is such a cute coffee shop added to the South Loop neighborhood! I was so excited when they first opened! What I like the most about this coffee shop is the ambiance and the decor. It's very unique and it adds a little spice to the neighborhood. Also, the individuals who were working behind the counter were very nice. The woman (I didn't catch her name) who took my order was very patient and knowledgeable about the menu. The coffee was also very good! I'm always looking for a bold, unique coffee flavor and this place hit the spot. I had an iced vanilla latte and it was great. I'll definitely be back! read more

Cafe Deko is a lovely new addition to Printer's Row! I stopped by recently for a matcha latte and savory croissant, both of which were delicious. The decor is insta-worthy and ambiance is lively but not overwhelming. Would recommend coming here on a weekday to avoid the crowd. read more

Really liked the vibe at this cafe. I saw many people describing it as a European style and I felt like that they might just be basing it off of the decor but it really does give off that feel. The drink menu is pretty standard with a few offerings that are hard to find other places but it also doesn't try to make you pay a premium to enjoy these. The cafe freddo options stood out to me but I ended up going with an iced mocha because I thought I was just going to grab and go and was feeling more thirsty but one of the little tables looked so cozy that I ended up sitting down and enjoying my drink for a little while. I only got the drink but the pastries all looked good and the sandwiches and other food items I noted others eating around me all seemed to be well made. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. I also liked that even though I got there past 5 there seemed to be no push to get the still half-crowded place empty before they closed at 6. read more

On a mission to sip my way through Chicago's most beautiful coffee shops, I stumbled on Café Deko in Printer's Row--and it's easily become one of my favorites so far. The design is stunning and feels as intentional as the coffee itself. It's the kind of spot that makes you want to slow down, linger a little longer, and soak in the atmosphere. The vibe is warm, stylish, and inviting, and the coffee truly lives up to the hype. Next time I will try more of their breakfast items, for now the cheese danish was delicious. This is the nicest coffee haus I've visited, like EVAR. The decor to detail here is decked from the ceiling to the floor tiles to the bathroom! They have really nice brunch options that come with fruit if you dine in and nice music! For a non coffee girlie, this is definitely one of my favorite coffee shops. read more
It was ky first time visiting cafe deko, I was so impressed wuth the decoration of the hidden gem! I go to this area a lot but never knew they existed. I tried the raspberry and cream croissant and the Greek style cappuccino. The croissant was so delicious and not overly sweet. The espresso was perfect and just what I needed for a studsy session. The staff are friendly and spacious. The only thing us parking but otherwise id definitely return. read more

Simply ordered some beverages and a scone, but the ambiance left me wanting to revisit! Service: was very attentive, even during peak time. A lady, forgive me for not getting her name, was ensuring each guest was cared for (clean table, had a place to sit, etc.) Visited on Saturday afternoon around 2, so whomever was on staff at that time shout out to you! Food: delicious mocha coffee and green tea latte! Scone - ordered warm and it was delightful (right amount of sweet, sponginess, and taste! Will return next Chicago visit! read more

Besides the obvious, that this place is so beautiful and really great vibes. The food is delicious and the coffee is great. Definitely plan on going back and trying more on their menu. The service was good and very friendly and you can tell that the employees take pride in their work and have a good relation with the community. Well worth the hype. read more

New coffee shop alert! Cafe deko is such a vibe. The inside decor is gorgeous. It's definitely busy on the weekends but is a nice place to get coffee with friends or your partner. Fair warning, no screen use allowed Friday - Sunday. We got the freddo cappuccino and the honey lavender latte, both of which were good. Topped off our Sunday with an Asiago bagel with cream cheese and chipotle mayo croissant sandwich. All their breakfast sandwiches come with a side of fruit. Will definitely check out on a weekday to see if it can be my new place to be productive because it's not allowed in the weekends and is pretty loud. Worth checking out if you're in the area! read more
I merely indulged in a single item but the turkey sando was ok. The majority of the appeal lies in sauce atop the sandwich. It's also worth noting that the cheese had nice pull & albeit the sandwich being served warm it seems as if greens were added afterwards this still maintaining crispiness. They also have a rewards system in place. read more
