We've been to Paola's Delights twice now. It's very nice and inviting inside- cute, pink and clean. Lots of really nice details and decor. They have a wide selection of pastries. We've had a few things so far. The ricotta, tomato pesto Danish pastry - very very good. The first time we went (a month or two ago) it was everyone's favorite - nice texture and great balance of flavors. I got it again the second time and it wasn't as good. The pastry was not as light and flakey as I remember. There was a lot of ricotta and very little pesto. I was hoping there would be some consistency. I'll try the ham and cheese cornetto next time. We've also had the coffee cake, pistachio bomboloni, cinnamon roll, and turtle cheesecake. The coffee cake was a little dense and the pistachio bomboloni was dry. It was like a donut. I thought the filling would be more smooth and liquidy, but it was a chunk of dry dense cream. The cinnamon roll was very good, though the icing was a little sweet. You can get it without icing... but i think I'd rather get it with the icing and scrape some of it off (haha)! The cheesecake was very very good. Great consistency and not too sweet. Definitely a standout dish. I want to try the croissant and a few other things next time. The cheesecake is a must. I appreciate that they are reasonably priced, which makes coming back and trying a few more things feasible. read more

The place is so tastefully decorated, and the pastries are to die for. In general my favorite sweet for breakfast is a chocolate raised donut! It was so delicious, one of the best I have tasted. I had their fruit custard tart very fresh and tasty. Their cappuccino is the real deal just like in Italy. I brought home an apricot pastry, an almond raspberry crossaint, and banana bread. All so fresh and tasty. Very relaxing atmosphere and great owners to serve and greet you plus actually baking. I highly recommend you try this Bakery, it won't disappoint. Yummy! read more

Let me just say--me and my youngest couldn't decide what to get, so we ended up with SEVEN!!! Taste: So good! I can't believe I've been missing out on this place for so long. Price: Honestly, it's cheaper than other bakeries, and the quality is just as great. Place: It's super cute! I wish we had time to sit and enjoy the day, but we were in a rush, so we took the pastries to go. I'm definitely going back soon--no question about it. As you step inside this new addition to Bridgeport, you are hit with the vibrant colors of the interior and welcomed by the friendly staff. Most of the staff seem to be family, and they occasionally speak Italian to one another. Might seem like an unnecessary observation, but I appreciate the preserving of tradition. Now, the pastries. I've tried a few items, but my favorites would have to be the Maritozzo, Occhi di Bue - Pistachio, Tiramisu, and Cannoli (not pictured). The flavors are all well balanced and reminiscent of a traditional Italian cafe. Additionally, the packaging is unique and a nice, custom touch. I've been to Paola's twice. First time I picked up a handful of different things and the standout was the Occhio de Bue. The cookie was melt in your mouth incredible! I wanted to try out a cake for my brother's birthday. I came in very last minute, only a few days before his party, and Paola was so accommodating and patient. She was able to do the order and walked me through everything, helping with different ideas. I was so thankful she was able to do this so last minute. I ordered an 8 inch carrot cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. The cake was huge! 3 tiers - legit could have been served as a wedding cake. The flavor was so good, the buttercream was excellent, and the cake was incredibly moist. Everyone loved it and I would absolutely get a cake from Paola's again for a special occasion. Although next time, I would be sure to order well in advance. Pricing for the cake came out to around $115 dollars and could've easily fed 20 people depending on how big of slices you cut. read more

Paola's is a complete gem! This family owned, family run mom, pop and daughter establishment is a step above all other pastries I've had in Chicago and beyond. The quality, the care and the taste are unmatched with their amazing sweets including my favorite- the banana tart, or their bombolones with pistachio , Nutella or creme filling- everything is simply spectacular. Somehow Paolas has mastered flavor without ever overpowering with sugar or any one ingredient. You can taste the quality of their expertise in every bite. The crust/bread, the fillings and the creams are all perfectly made with so much love and care that it truly creates a harmony of flavor that keeps me coming back for more! Overall, It's just REALLY BEAUTIFUL place to go and enjoy and feel at home. It's pink, it's vibrant and delicious- triple win!
