    Occhi di Bue & Tiramisu
    Aaron A.

As you step inside this new addition to Bridgeport, you are hit with the vibrant colors of the interior and welcomed by the friendly staff. Most of the staff seem to be family, and they occasionally speak Italian to one another. Might seem like an unnecessary observation, but I appreciate the preserving of tradition. Now, the pastries. I've tried a few items, but my favorites would have to be the Maritozzo, Occhi di Bue - Pistachio, Tiramisu, and Cannoli (not pictured). The flavors are all well balanced and reminiscent of a traditional Italian cafe. Additionally, the packaging is unique and a nice, custom touch. To quote the great Anton Ego, "I will be returning to Paola's (Gusteau's), hungry for more."

Paola's Delights is exactly what it sounds. Baker Paola has poured her love for Italian pastries in the sweet baby pink cafe, giving you a warm hug. With a large variety of cornettoes (Italian croissants), donuts, tarts, and cakes, you are surely to find something for everyone. I am especially a fan of the pumpkin cheesecake. Go check them out the next time you're in Bridgeport!

They have a variety of fresh pastries that all look delicious and beautiful! My favorites have been the cornetto, cannoli and bombolone! The interior is so cute and pink! I've loved every pastry I've tried so far and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend stopping in.

I can't recommend Paola's Delights Bakery enough! Everything I've tried here has been absolutely delish--fresh, beautifully made in-house and full of flavor. You can truly taste the love and care that goes into each item. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It's truly inspiring to see Paola and family follow her passion and create such a wonderful bakery. I'll definitely be back again and again! Free street parking & 15 minute standing zone in front of bakery!

This bakery is a hidden gem located right in Bridgeport! They have so many verity of Italian pastries! The customer service was simply amazing and the atmosphere of the bakery itself was so cute and aesthetic. Definitely recommend

Such cute decor inside - everything was super special!

I can't recommend this place enough! My husband and I went to Italy this past April and have been searching for the perfect pastry cream filled cornetti ever since. This place delivered perfection!! The family running it was also extremely friendly and accomodating. So delicious!! We will definitely be back every time we come to Chicago!

The receipt that I have shows, I paid $7.70 for the croissant product is good but very overpriced

Carrot cake with vanilla buttercream frosting

I've been to Paola's twice. First time I picked up a handful of different things and the standout was the Occhio de Bue. The cookie was melt in your mouth incredible! I wanted to try out a cake for my brother's birthday. I came in very last minute, only a few days before his party, and Paola was so accommodating and patient. She was able to do the order and walked me through everything, helping with different ideas. I was so thankful she was able to do this so last minute. I ordered an 8 inch carrot cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. The cake was huge! 3 tiers - legit could have been served as a wedding cake. The flavor was so good, the buttercream was excellent, and the cake was incredibly moist. Everyone loved it and I would absolutely get a cake from Paola's again for a special occasion. Although next time, I would be sure to order well in advance. Pricing for the cake came out to around $115 dollars and could've easily fed 20 people depending on how big of slices you cut.

It's located opposite of the cash register and menu. Service was friendly. Washroom (restroom, bathroom search terms) available. Black Sesame Matcha Latte - while the black sesame graininess settled at the bottom expectedly, the matcha was clearly whisked well. There were no clumps of bitterness to be found. Despite sugar adjustments, this was still very sweet so I'd classify the spot as more desserty rather than strong matcha or a cafe. Though I'm happy to be proven wrong with their regular matcha in the future.

Definitely a place I'd come back to, especially with friends because there are so many things to share and try. Elite tip: come with a group so you can order a bunch and split everything

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.
