Dialtone is just as cute as it looks! I've been wanting to come by here for a while now and I'm so happy I finally bit the bullet and made the trip here. It's pretty small on the inside and super busy (at least when I visited!) so keep that in mind. The staff is so friendly! I decided to get a half sweet vanilla latte (iced) and a lemon blueberry scone. My coffee was solid (not mind blowing but not by any means bad -- pretty middle of the road). The scone though!! This scone was so freaking yummy. The tangy lemon icing balanced the blueberry flavors perfectly. I grabbed a seat on the patio to enjoy my coffee and scone and get some work done. The wifi worked great. I had multiple calls with no issues. I can't wait to come back to explore more coffee options and give the wines ago! read more

Stopped in for a quick coffee break. The space itself has a lot of seating and a lot of outdoor seating as well. The ordering area is cutely set up. I didn't try any of the cocktail drinks but they honestly looked so good! I opted to try their strawberry ube matcha and YUM. The strawberry + ube was the right amount of strength where it didn't feel so sweet which is what I perfer.  They also have snacks and food for anyone who also is hungry or looking for a snack with drinking. Such a perfect place to work or study and there is seating inside and outside as well. It's also dog friendly if you need to work inside or outside. I would recommend to get there early for seating. Went to Dialtone for my first time yesterday and it was a wonderful experience through and through! Upon arrival, I loved the overall vibe and also appreciated that there is a little "convenience" store with grab and go items. I ordered the Strawberry Mocha Cold Brew which was absolutely delightful - it tasted like a cold brew/strawberry milk crossover and was better than I expected. My fiancé ordered a latte and enjoyed his as well. I also ordered an almond croissant to eat and it was so, so good - crispy on the outside with a delicious almond filling. In addition to the delicious food and drinks, the service was also super friendly and welcoming which was so appreciated. We got the banana cream matcha and it was good. A little too sweet. Flavor was great not too strong or bitter. Seemed like banana matcha with whipped cream though 7/10. Still enjoyed it a lot. Very corporate feeling place, lots of wine options, lattes, and other coffees. It's inside a weird old-town industrial park. Weird condos, abandoned lots, and trains surround this oddity. I got a cold brew, and the bacon breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. It came with mayo or some"special sauce" aka mayo. The English muffin was nice, but the bacon was definitely a microwave variety. It was a little one note without the English muffin. My partner got a parfait and hot coffee, they were enjoyable. They do not have many juice options, just fancy juices, so it's not traditionally kid friendly but kids are more than welcomed. The sandwich took like 5 minutes, but it wasn't a big deal. read more

this is a cute spot in river north to wfh at. it has a clean, light and airy interior with several 2 person booth tables (with outlets underneath them!!) and a few larger booth table options. the drinks are good and the sandwich options are really great and varied, and their homemade potato chips are quite tasty. i've been here a couple times now and both times the sandwiches did not disappoint. this place will definitely become a go to wfh spot for me. a couple things- this place is inside a hotel and there's a bunch of dogs coming in and out, which is great entertainment for a dog person like me but maybe not for everyone. also the music they play is great- lots of r&b like summer walker and lauryn hill, which i really appreciate. also this spot is located just ~a block from a high school and it seems to be a spot some of them frequent after school, so it can get a bit noisy at around 3-4pm. overall though, i really like this spot and im excited to try more of their sandwiches too. read more

Dialtone seems like a newly opened cafe. They had some interesting options like the Pistachio Latte and Vanilla Lavender Latte. I was confused between these two options and opted for the Pistachio Latte which was quite delicious! My friend had the Vanilla Match Latte which she absolutely loved. We also tried the mini pastries, and all 3 were yum, and quite the right bite size if you don't want to order something whole. The ambiance was quite cute and comfy. They had a section where some people were enjoying the happy hour, which I will be trying the next time I go here and the other section had some people enjoying coffee and reading a book/working on their laptops. The only con is the line, it took like 15 minutes to place my order but they got the coffee out pretty quickly. I tried the Dark Matter Coffee Donut and Iced Praline Latte. They were both pretty good, but it is a little pricier than other coffee shops. The Dark Matter Coffee Donut was pretty good, definitely unique. I've been following dan the baker now renamed bad butter for a bit and haven't gotten the chance to find time to grab a pick up time in west loop. I don't often review coffee shops, but this one really stood out to me. I loved the interior - the green stone on the counters was so pretty. I visited within the first week or two of opening, maybe. Came on Saturday around noon and I waited in line to order for 20-30 minutes honestly, and waited again for our drinks/food for another 15-20 minutes? Unfortunately, there isn't a ton of seating so we also waited at least 20 minutes for a table to leave so we could sit down. Also, they were out of the savory pastry I really wanted to try, it had some sort of pork and cheese. I really loved my pistachio latte, though, and the pastries my friends got were both really good! I would come back for sure to get the pistachio latte again and hopefully try the pastry I wanted to try. I saw this recommended as a good place to do work, and I wouldn't agree with that unless it's significantly less busy on weekdays. read more

This is a cute new local spot to get food and coffees/teas, and to work from during the week (M-F only). My first time here I got the Italian sandwich and the matcha and both were delicious! The Italian sandwich was tasty, fresh, and filling. The second time I came here I didn't have as great as an experience- the matcha was very milky, and I ordered a scone and didn't like it- very mushy and didn't have much flavor. I've been to Dialtone four times now, each time with the hope that it will somehow get better yet alas here I am with a 1* review. Coffee is mediocre at best and has little-to-no taste, even when I upgraded to a double. Go to Doma or La Colombe in this area instead if you want coffee you can actually taste. Pastries (which I'm sure they just outsource in) are the only saving grace but La Fournette down the street is much better anyway. Went for wine at night and waited 25 minutes to have our order taken - keep in mind there are ~10 tables total with ~5/6 members of staff trundling around. Again, mediocre. Just go somewhere else. Layla and Ringo's which is also newly opened, just down the street, offers similar vibes but much better delivery on the actual product. read more

This place has so much potential, but unfortunately misses the mark in many ways. While the aesthetic is nice, that's about as good as it gets. There's not enough seating (often times 1-2 people would occupy the larger 6 person booths), the matcha is watered down, and the service is lackluster. More recently, I went for a glass of wine and never got attended to after waiting more than 15+ minutes while seated. I tried to get the server's attention and she didn't hear me although I was pretty loud that other tables heard me.
