We got the banana cream matcha and it was good. A little too sweet. Flavor was great not too strong or bitter. Seemed like banana matcha with whipped cream though 7/10. Still enjoyed it a lot. Cool vibes there's no seats open because everyone's working 6/10. Service was fine it was really busy a lot of people in line and phone calls and baristas handled it very well 7/10. Orders were taken fast the drinks took a while but not too long it was probably around 10 minutes.

A very savory and smooth matcha, but I think the slight butter taste wasn't for me. I can imagine other people loving it though. On another note, I came here to work at they have these massive booths you can sit at, but there are individual people just taking up the entire space and I may crash out now since there is legit no where to sit at 11 am on a Wednesday....

Love Dialtone! Staff so kind and friendly! Lots of outlets and natural light, great work from home spot. Great coffee, will be back to try food! Overall so impressed with how kind and friendly the staff is! Makes me want to visit again!

I swung by diatone on a walk and decided to give it a try. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The ambience was chic. The servers weren't very friendly but wernt rude either. I ordered the caramel coconut miso latte. It was so yummy! I couldn't taste the coconut but I could taste the miso and a hint of caramel. I will be back to try their other special coffee beverages.

Wonderful coffee and wine bar - a decent sitting area and their menu is great. They have the best pastries too! Sign up for their rewards too and you get $10 for your birthday month! It gets busy, so if you go during peak hours (10AM on weekends), know that you may need to wait. Super friendly staff and the matcha is surprisingly good!

Very corporate feeling place, lots of wine options, lattes, and other coffees. It's inside a weird old-town industrial park. Weird condos, abandoned lots, and trains surround this oddity. I got a cold brew, and the bacon breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. It came with mayo or some"special sauce" aka mayo. The English muffin was nice, but the bacon was definitely a microwave variety. It was a little one note without the English muffin. My partner got a parfait and hot coffee, they were enjoyable. They do not have many juice options, just fancy juices, so it's not traditionally kid friendly but kids are more than welcomed. The sandwich took like 5 minutes, but it wasn't a big deal.

this is a cute spot in river north to wfh at. it has a clean, light and airy interior with several 2 person booth tables (with outlets underneath them!!) and a few larger booth table options. the drinks are good and the sandwich options are really great and varied, and their homemade potato chips are quite tasty. i've been here a couple times now and both times the sandwiches did not disappoint. this place will definitely become a go to wfh spot for me. a couple things- this place is inside a hotel and there's a bunch of dogs coming in and out, which is great entertainment for a dog person like me but maybe not for everyone. also the music they play is great- lots of r&b like summer walker and lauryn hill, which i really appreciate. also this spot is located just ~a block from a high school and it seems to be a spot some of them frequent after school, so it can get a bit noisy at around 3-4pm. overall though, i really like this spot and im excited to try more of their sandwiches too.

Dialtone seems like a newly opened cafe. They had some interesting options like the Pistachio Latte and Vanilla Lavender Latte. I was confused between these two options and opted for the Pistachio Latte which was quite delicious! My friend had the Vanilla Match Latte which she absolutely loved. We also tried the mini pastries, and all 3 were yum, and quite the right bite size if you don't want to order something whole. The ambiance was quite cute and comfy. They had a section where some people were enjoying the happy hour, which I will be trying the next time I go here and the other section had some people enjoying coffee and reading a book/working on their laptops. Best of both worlds! The service was quick and good too.

Cute wine bar, very casual vibe. A nice place for a casual girls wine night, order at the counter, most people were in yoga pants. They have good happy hour deals and the aperol spritz was delicious!

A new coffee & wine bar on the Near North Side. The place has a very cool vibe, offering coffee, wines, and Bad Butter pastries. The only con is the line, it took like 15 minutes to place my order but they got the coffee out pretty quickly. I tried the Dark Matter Coffee Donut and Iced Praline Latte. They were both pretty good, but it is a little pricier than other coffee shops. The Dark Matter Coffee Donut was pretty good, definitely unique. It tastes like a wheat donut with sesame and a unique coffee glaze. Overall cool experience but expect to wait a bit right now.

Came on a Sunday. Service was good, plenty of seating, cute interior - food for a date spot. Snacks at the front you can buy including my favorite AWAKE Caffeinated Chocolates! I tried their strawberry ube matcha - it was good, but I wish it had a stronger ube flavor.

Kind of a perfect coffee shop. Many specialty drink options, foods, ample seating, outlets (!!), big windows, beautiful bathroom, open late, very clean and love their aesthetic. Pricy but that's big city life for ya.

Strawberry mocha cold foam cold brew
    Christina H.

I got their mocha strawberry cold brew and liked how it wasn't too sweet- with the mocha flavor was toned down a little but not a big deal. I liked the chicken breakfast sandwich, it had eggs, cheese, sausage and some sort of spicy/tangy sauce that tied everything together. Random note but I love the green table countertops and decor. The only downside is that it gets SUPER crowded on weekends and there's limited seating, so get there early or go with a big group and claim a booth.

They passed the appetizers, but once they passed them around a few times they put them on the bar which became one big grazing station. The drinks were great as well and they even did a signature cocktail in honor of my friend, which was quite strong (hello tequila). We ordered a flight of whiskey sours, which contained whiskeys from Japan, Vietnam, and Wisconsin. I also was able to order an amaretto sour, which they made with freshly hand beaten egg whites, which was a nice cherry on the top. As far as the whiskey flights go, I think the best one was the Vietnam flight because it had a slightly lemongrass twang and was a little bit lighter than the other two. The heaviest one was the Wisconsin which came with a little bit of a bite at the end, but it still wasn't bad if you're trying to blackout on a $15 budget. I would definitely come back with a larger group this seems like a great place, but is a little bit loud- so if you be prepared to yell or wear earplugs. The bathroom took my a second to find, which should have been intuitive considering it was on the opposite end of where you come in. I blame the lighting as things are already pretty hard to find in the dark, but eventually I made it there-Pat myself on the back.

We had visited Florence last year, and one of the numerous wonderful moments of our trip to Italy was seeing "Il Porcellino" - the lucky bronze boar fountain that draws tourists from around the world. A copy of the boar stands proudly near the entrance of the restaurant, and though it is not as old as the original 1634 sculpture, it was a charming reminder of our amazing Italian holiday. Did I mention that the weekday Happy Hour (4-6PM) specials are quite good? The specials are served only at the bar area, so you might have to wait a few minutes for available seating. We started with some drinks, including two kinds of Negroni. The wild mushroom arancini (5 little balls for $6) were the smallest I've tried, but they were creamy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The whipped ricotta and jam beautifully served on a strip of toasty focaccia was a unique taste sensation. Prime beef meatballs and short rib sliders on toasted ciabatta bread also hit the spot. Even though we were merely dining at the bar, we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. There are lots of photos on the walls, interesting lighting from the ceiling, nice serving dishes, and servers who seem to know who their regular diners are. We look forward to returning to Il Porcellino, to bask in that indescribable feeling of being in Italy again.

It's one of those places that you find yourself talking about long after the meal is over. The garlic bread alone is worth the visit. They pour what feels like a gallon of garlic butter over it, and somehow it's still never enough. It's rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. We order it every single time and would probably be disappointed if we didn't. The real star of the show, though, is the lasagna. Between the two of us, we've had lasagna at countless restaurants, and nothing has come close to this one. It's hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. Perfect layers, incredible flavor, and the kind of comfort food that makes you want to savor every bite. Their Grey Goose espresso martini is also unmatched. We've tried espresso martinis all over Chicago, and this one is still our favorite. It's smooth, perfectly balanced, and the ideal way to start or end the meal. The atmosphere is another reason we love coming here. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, with a dark, moody vibe that makes it feel special without being stuffy.
