What's not to love?? Layla & Ringo's offer a bit of everything. It's a market, gift shop, cafe and coffee & tea shop. The vibe is upbeat and stylish. The room is attractive with various seating options. The sidewalk seating is comfy too. Their beverages and small bites are tasty and filling. Perfect for a quick bite of a dash of caffeine. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I always feel great after visiting.

Layla & Ringo's you are so perfect. The thought & detail that went into this grocer/coffee shop/cafe has not gone unnoticed and I freaking love it. I came on a weekday and it was jam packed with other remote workers which was so great to see. I grabbed a seat at the bar. In the summer, the garage door opens up, so I will definitely be coming back to enjoy that when the weather warms up. To drink I got vanilla bean latte which is made with housemade vanilla syrup. Round of applause for this latte y'all. The perfect balance of sweet and creamy. 10/10. To eat, I went with the avocado toast. This is not your basic avo toast - it's served on sourdough with roasted tomato, burrata. It looks as good as it tastes. Already planning my trip back!

Have walked by this coffee shop so many times and finally stopped in. I'm glad I did - it's a cute and refined space that has a gourmet market attached. The baristas were so kind and friendly. I ordered a summer special - the milk and cookies cold brew - and thought it would come with Cookie Crisp cereal on top but it didn't :( maybe they were out of the topping. Oh well! The drink was good, not exactly what I was expecting. I'm not sure cold brew was the right choice for this drink. The cookie milk at the bottom tasted exactly like leftover milk and cookies. It had little bits of cookies that added an interesting texture. The cold brew just sat on top of the drink and didn't really incorporate into the cookie milk no matter how much I mixed. I know they do fun special drinks frequently so I will be back to try some more!

Neapolitan latte was delicious!! Loved the vanilla latte base with strawberry foam and marshmallow crunch on top. More of a dessert drink and espresso not as strong.

Super cute grocery section. Gives Cracker Barrel market...cutesy

My first stop on trying TikTok highly mentioned coffeeshops in Chicago, Layla & Ringio's. Located in the River North community, this vibing coffeeshops is reflective off it's community: young, dog loving city dwellers. The aesthetic is cozy neighborhood coffeeshops, with a "Friends" vibe. Upon entry, there's cozy couch /lounge chair seating leading up to the cashier who takes your order. They do offer limited breakfast/lunch options. Partitioned off to the side is a small market similar to those seen at Cracker Barrel but stocked with trendy food and craft options. After a brief chat with my cashier, who was awesome with explaining my drink options, I ordered the Lucky Latte which is a vanilla based iced latte topped with Lucky Charms cereal cold foam. Now, their s'mores latte is highly mentioned, however, I prefer my s'mores fresh off a bonfire. I give their Lucky Latte 7/10. Not as flavorful as I hoped yet enjoyable . Would I return? Absolutely! I'm dying to try their avocado toast.

I really really want to love this place. I've been twice now and it's been a little rough. It's very expensive for what you get and the staff seems grumpy. It also took a half hour to get a turkey sandwich that essentially cost $20. Argh. Not saying I won't be back, but there's definitely some kinks that need to be worked out.

Super cute cafe! I love that it's dog friendly, the space is pretty big and airy. I also love the little store connected to the cafe. I came in for breakfast on a weekend morning, so there was a bit of a line to the door. But that was just more time for me to say hi to all the cute pups. I ordered the pumpkin spice chai and the breakfast burrito. The chai was delicious. Not super sweet, and perfectly spiced. The burrito was flavorful and pretty filling. It took a bit for the food to come out, but when it did, it was piping hot and delicious. Overall, super amazing spot! I went again a few days later for a matcha latte which was also delicious. Bonus points for a super cute logo as well!

Friendly baristas. Professional and casual. Gorgeous specialty drinks. Inviting lounge seating. Privacy pods for quick business meetings. Curated market section. Books, sweets, alcohol, snacks, dog bandanas, etc. Contemporary super clean bathrooms.

This place is cute but very small. It's packed most of the day, but they close at 6pm so that's nice if you have to study. The turmeric latte I had was delicious. The purple sweet potato chips I had were interesting and the ham and cheese croissant I had was ok. They offer actual food items, which I appreciate over the traditional pastry only approach most cafes offer. It feels like a smaller scale foxtrot, they have a very small grocery section to the side. I can't wait to try their rose matcha!

This is my neighborhood coffee spot and I love it. It's always busy in the weekend mornings, so you may not get a seat. I like to come here in the afternoons, as they close a little later than other local coffee shops. Coffee is strong, tasty, and staff is friendly and happy to help. They also have a loyalty program that I've already gotten plenty of rewards from!

A fun place to come grab coffee with friends. They have an area where you can play some Scrabble, and behind there is an area to come sit with your laptop and get some work done. They also have a small market. They are super dog friendly. The service was great, we got our drinks super quick. I really liked the Pistachio Honey Latte. Loved the overall ambiance and experience.

ASHER & JESSE'S CHICAGO COFFEE CRAWL '25 Ranked #14 out of 15 Firstly, I'd like to start off with the pros. The inside of Layla and Ringo's is absolutely adorable. The little grocery store area was so cute and honestly had everything one would need in a jiffy. Super cute concept. Adore how dog friendly and forward they were. Marketing and branding is epic. Now, I wish I could keep saying good things because this is one of the coffee shops I was excited about before I even got on the plane to Chicago. My partner got the Pistachio Honey Latte but it just didn't taste like much of either and tasted extremely watered down. I tried ordering a strawberries and cream matcha but I believe they were out of strawberry syrup so I asked for a suggestion from the cashier instead, to which they said blueberry but I believe they was a miscommunication or confusion because my matcha didn't taste much of anything as well. It may have done something with the way I was ordering where maybe I was being confusing so I will take blame for that. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich which was good! I will give grace where grace is always due-- it did seem like the baristas behind the counter were stressed with the volume of people coming in and they were not adequately staffed. I would love to give Layla and Ringo a second try, maybe on a slower day.

    TURKEY CLUB
    Katherine Y.

friendly baristas, varied drink options (with the ability to add matcha to some of their drink options, which i really appreciated), and a decent amount of seating. this place gets pretty busy the closer it gets to noon. it's a great spot to work, and a lot of people do just that, (myself included). they even have a few little phone booth rooms, which i've never seen at a cafe and is a huge plus for people who may have midday meetings. the turkey club sandwich was also delicious. this is a great spot for dog lovers as well, as they have a little wall dedicated to doggy photos.

A line for grocery store fried chicken? Absolute cinema. People have been recommending I get into fried chicken reviews, and I've resisted as I really don't want to get fat, but this was the perfect storm to start a grocery store fried chicken review journey. I got to the front in the line and felt like a fish out of water. I sheepishly asked the employees, Darius R and Damariea J, what the move was as it was my first time getting fried chicken from here. I thought they'd be annoyed, but they were so helpful and welcoming. "Today is actually wing bucket Friday! A whole bucket is normally $17.99 but today it's $9.99. I can give you some of everything so you can try, but the spicy wings are my favorite." Hell yeah. Darius was the MAN. I took my tissi and wing bucket to the UIC campus for consumption. The tissi was a brick and landed at a 6/10, which currently ranks it 71st out of 94 grocery store birds I've tried, but the fried chicken was INSANE. As always, I am looking for new fantastic restaurants, and stores to try out, and share with: family, friends, and on Yelp. As you walk in it seems like a common corner store, groceries in the front, meat towards the rear. When I walked to the back I had a pretty good hunch this would be a great one. The fresh smell, it was very clean, and the amazing eye catching signage. You could feel like you just walked into in a sweet little store in Mexico. When they handed me the food I ordered I knew was on the right track. When I took my first bites I smiled, and knew, I needed to share this place. I was intrigued by the Pozole Verde sign out front. I had never had it before, so I placed my order for that and zero regrets. It comes out in a quart container with a plastic wrapped foam tray with: chopped onions, cilantro, radish, shredded cabbage, and mexican oregano. I added mostly everything but went easy on the oregano. The chunks of chicken were tender and not overcooked. The hominy and vegetables were just right as well. They have this to a science and it has to be near perfect. Now to the tacos: As you often see in neighborhood grocery stores the chorizo was hanging in back above the meat counter, so a house made chorizo taco was a given. The Al Pastor was reccomend by the one of the butchers, and I had a steak taco to round it, and myself, out. All I can say is that like the pozole everything was superb. Even the salsas.. I wish I knew of this place when I worked and lived in the area. I would definitely have known everyone there by name. I still smile thinking of it, and next time I'm in that hood, I will be there. I look forward to trying out a few more menu items, and picking up some of the fresh meat. So maybe don't slap Grandma... but you should at least pick her up and take her out to lunch here. Enjoy! #AlfieEats
