    Matcha Latte
    Alex W.

This cafe is the cutest, the interior is a complete vibe and has a great view .I'm so glad I stopped in as the service was quick and friendly. I ordered an iced ube match with oat milk and it was very light and refreshing. Sadly I couldn't taste or see the ube and it was an extra cost. On a positive note, the oat milk and matcha paired perfectly with a good balance between all flavors involved.

Coffee: I've tried the mocha and the honey latte, both had a great ratio of milk to espresso. Milk texture was good and foam was rich. Service: The barista was friendly and gave my pet a treat, I really enjoyed the customer service and music was amazing. It was like rnb/house vibes which I loved. Ambiance: The interior design is beautiful and there is no shortage of outlets to work from. Yes the table height to chair height ratio is good, if that matters to anyone. It isn't loud, so you can actually focus here. Overall: good option for wfh, great lattes, friendly staff, pleasant music and interior design. To be honest this place is very underrated, I think it's better than Deko and other south loop options, sheerly due to the experience.

lots of seating! pretty expensive and i didn't enjoy my latte to the fullest. however it was just not my taste and i didn't really like the almond milk the pastries looked delicious and were in a beautiful case under the counter. the ambiance in here was lovely and it is so beautiful inside my favorite part was their water station. they had a self serve water station and it was really lovely. thank you dollop! there's a cute little market area in the shop to the side that sells fun snacks, ice cream, and wine bathroom 8/10 nice bathroom! i like that there was 4 individual bathrooms, so many which is lovely to me it felt like a space ship. they are spaceship themed and my only comment is that the toilet flush is very loud so don't go in here if you scare easily (joke) workers were chill , i walked here so i have no parking comments nooo! it's downtown though so

I've been visiting this café since I lived in the building years ago and have continued to return regularly. The baristas are consistently kind, attentive, and welcoming. Bloom makes the best art work in a cup I've ever seen. It's a warm, inviting space ideal for coffee, tea, or breakfast. Their spinach croissants are exceptional--truly the best I've had.

Stopped here for a pick-me-up before a day at the museums. The shop is spacious, clean, and really cozy/pretty especially as it was raining when I was here. There's bar seating, tables, and a couch area that's great for meals or just sitting to work on a laptop. I got a honey cinnamon latte. It was only available iced in a 16oz cup, no other size. It was pretty thick and sweet so I had to wait for the ice to melt a bit. The cinnamon was not too overpowering. Service was friendly. Would come back for the vibes. ヾ(^-^)ノ

Newly opened with temporary 8am-3pm hours. The space is gorgeous and they plan to expand to cocktail service soon. Looks to be awesome for working coffee spot with lots of outlets. The food was tasty and service is actually at your table (vs counter ordering) if you plan to eat in. They have a few things to work out, but everyone was so friendly and I'm looking forward to trying more items on the menu. It will be a huge hit in the area since their breakfast offerings differ a bit from the usual eggs.

It's a fantastic spot whether you're in a rush, looking for a quick breakfast, or have time to sit and work. Opening at 7 AM is perfect for early risers, and there's plenty of seating available. They also have a convenient grocery section with frozen and pantry items, plus wine, which is a nice bonus. When I visit, I always go for the breakfast burrito--it's incredibly tasty and satisfying. Payment options are versatile, from Apple Pay to Afterpay and even Cash App. I initially planned to eat only half of the recommended doughnut, but it was so delicious that I couldn't resist devouring the whole thing. They also offer free Wi-Fi, which is perfect for those who want to get some work done while enjoying their meal. Additionally, I was impressed by the quick service--it took less than 10 minutes for my food to arrive, which was fantastic and made the overall experience even better. soft music flows through this place which sets the vibe as people work or chat.

Super busy on the weekends but nice to be able to go downstairs and get something to eat without having to go outside Takes a while for takeout though Nice decor, big windows and lots of light Nice plant and coffee wall Lattes are nice, though several times have been out of matcha Waffles are fluffy Biscuits are also fluffy and tasty For a while was open during the evenings but not any more Nice to be able to order online then go downstairs to pick up Staff always friendly

This might be the best cafe to do work in Chicago. It's got a beautiful interior with high ceilings and a plethora of natural light giving way to the Chicago skyline. Internet and outlets are abundant and the late hours are greatly conducive for working or studying. Plus, it's more of a local spot, and didn't seem overly crowded when I went. My very excellent and strong matcha latte was criminally expensive (almost $8), but perhaps that's the cost of such a great ambiance.

Nice place to grab a quick coffee. They also have a few shelves of snacks and a small craft beer selection if you're in need of a quick 6-pack. They also have a full service bar which is cool. I've had a random drink here and it was fun. I tried the breakfast sandwich today and it was very good. Nothing over the top, but very fresh and a great sauce that adds to the flavor. Definitely a good spot to stop by if you need a quick drink or bite to eat.

    Strawberry Lemongrass

Was really excited for brunch here but felt like it was just okay?! The waffles were a thin style waffle rather than the thick Belgian type. The classic BLT was good but the bread wasn't really toasted so the texture felt a little mushy. Also had high hopes for the strawberry lemongrass matcha but the strawberry and lemongrass flavors didn't really come through to me. I probably sound like a brunch snob after this review (rip) but I still love this place and will continue going for coffee!

The calm, bright Mediterranean interior welcomes you into what feels like a cool summer day. Started with the black truffle puff bread -- felt like eating a cheese pizza with anchovies, deep and umami and honestly some of the best bread I've ever had. Would come back just for that alone. The tasting menu delivered from start to finish. The Manchego cracker came out crispy with a light creamy interior from the cheese and a hint of saltiness from the ham on top. The roasted mussel toast was next abundant mussels paired with Calabrian chili butter that took it over the edge, one of my favorites from the meal. The pasta was fresh and light with a deeply flavored sausage that complemented it well. The prime picanha closed out the savory courses perfectly tender, juicy, and the romesco sauce alongside brought a nice lightly sweet and smoky balance. Dessert was the pistachio which I don't typically gravitate toward but this one was well balanced and a nice finish to a great tasting menu. Shoutout to my server Peter who doubled as the bartender exceptional service throughout. -Mr.

We ordered the venison burger and, honestly, I was hesitant at first because I was worried it might be too gamey. However, our server did a great job explaining what to expect, and she was absolutely right. The venison patty was juicy, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and efficient throughout our meal. They also have an impressive selection of signature cocktails. I didn't end up trying one because the drink I was interested in sounded a bit too strong for lunch, but it's definitely given me a reason to come back later for drinks. After we sat down, our server took her sweet time getting to us and was largely absent the entire visit while the servers for the others tables were attentive and present as I've come to expect. We started with the Crispy Brussels and Burrata Toast which was an amazing and fun combination of flavors textures with the sherry glaze and pickled onions providing a perfect counter to the richness of the cheese. Our second course was the Gage Caesar which we've had before and have enjoyed sharing multiple times, but this time the lettuce was full of grit as if the prep chef did not even bother washing the lettuce. The server never came by to check on us so I had to wave the manager to complain about the salad. The server also never checked to see if we wanted refills on our cocktails so we placed our orders with the manager. The final dish was the venison burger which was perfectly cooked and seasoned if you like venison, which I do so we enjoyed that greatly. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.

Made last minute reservations for brunch next day after the infamous architecture tour. It was quiet as we've put in an early morning. All the more better to savor all intricate dishes from start to finish. Like the name, The Purple Pig, their specialty is pork dishes so majority of our orders were this. Daily special of the bone marrow bacon jam toast - glazed, slippery off the bone, savory and sweet. Always love a good bone marrow dish to get the sweetness off it. This was so good that there were bits of the marrow and jam left stuck to the bone, I took a piece of the toast and scooped the bone dry. Nothing left for anyone to attack this. Non pork dishes were the Mushroom 3 ways and Spanish octopus. Mushroom dish was savory with all the coated sauces elevating this. Spanish octopus was kicked lightly and easily can bite in to enjoy the tender and charred portions. But the award went to my main course - the braised pork shoulder with saffron, apricots and Swiss chard. Aside from the rippable pork meat when dining on it, the sauces fused together on this dish elevated it and had everyone coming back for more. I needed an official Chicago culinary experience and found it at The Purple Pig without a doubt.
