A cute little hole-in-the-wall diner with a cozy, homey atmosphere. The food was just okay. I ordered the ribeye and eggs, which probably wasn't the best choice for this spot, but it was edible. Overall, a nice little neighborhood diner if you're looking for something casual and unpretentious! read more

We've driven by a million times and finally decided to stop in for lunch. It's open 24 hours and there's a parking lot out front and seating at tables and at a long counter. Spacing is a bit tight as it's a small footprint. Not sure how a wheelchair or similar would navigate, but I assume they know how to make it work. The stars are mainly for the staff and service which was great. We had steak and egger breakfast with pancakes and a steak dinner. The food was just okay. Pancakes were a bit dense and the steak was a bit more well done than we asked for (medium). The veggie on the dinner platter was canned green beans, but you do get lots of food. Everything is decently priced. Note there's a sign at the register that essentially says 4% surcharge for credit cards and if you order after 10pm they make you pay first - probably a lot of dine and dash people late at night. We don't need to go again, but I appreciate what they offer and maybe when I have a hankering for inexpensive comfort/diner/cafeteria foods, I might try again. read more

Take credit card. Have their own parking lot. Open at all hours, never closes It's a chain with 6 locations in Chicagoland. Like people said, it has the look and feel of a Waffle House. They have bar seating and multiple tables indoor. I got their 2-2-2-2 deal for $8.99: 2 eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon. Got a side of hashbrowns. Overeasy eggs cooked perfectly Pancakes were cooked well, soft buttery. Bacon was crispy, not overcooked. Hashbrowns were disappointing, not very crispy and undercooked. read more

This is like going to a waffle House for tough guys! The place is a little beat up inside. But it is clean. And so are the washrooms. The service is very good, only minor errors but very fast. We had the ribeye and eggs. The eggs were cooked perfectly. For the price. I guess the ribeye is okay but don't expect to be impressed by it. It's basically a piece of meat that was hit with a tenderizing Hammer about a million times so that it's not even really recognizable. And even then, it's still a little tough, which is really hard to imagine because ribeye are really tender. This had to be from a really old cow! Nonetheless, I ate the whole thing. It's pretty much what I expected for the price. The coffee was good and the English muffin was better than average. The clientele ele is the regular neighborhood factory worker and a few goofballs from the hood. The parking lot is small. It's open 24 hours so keep that in mind. Old music is playing so that felt good. The people working there were pretty nice. The waitress kept calling me babe. And I had to wonder, is it that I am hot or that I look like that little pig from the movie? For no frills meal, this is a good place, but don't expect to impress anybody. read more

I was on the hunt for a brunch-type steak dinner but was unable to locate on within the area. This place showed up and my husband I decided to give it a try. The location was an easy to find spot. The place looks like it used to be an old Waffle House style layout. The restaurant had its own parking. The inside was clean but gave an old restaurant feel and could use a slight update to bring it to current day old cafe style. The dining space was very small so to be 8 months pregnant I had to eat sideways. None of the tables moved and the place is a tight. So if you are a larger framed person or pregnant like myself - you won't eat comfortably at all. The food was hot and fresh to order. I played it safe and ordered pancakes with 2 eggs and Turkey sausage patties. They won me over with having more than pork as an option. Th food tasted as if it were prepared at home very good on seasoning and flavors. The staff were very kind although many hardly spoke much English which made the entire experience of communication a little hectic. They charge an 18% gratuity for 4 or more people which is a bit much. You don't have to force tips if service is good and their customer service was very nice despite the communication barrier. If I ordered again, it'd probably go be to-go. read more

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Classic diner vibes! Great food and came out fast! The service was amazing! Great customer service!

I think it was maybe 11:00 pm when the munchies hit and me and my friend took a short walk to this lil gem. I know everyone has mixed opinions about neighborhood diners. However, do you know how cool it is to have a 24/7 diner that's a 5 minute walk from your front door? I legitimately said I wasn't super hungry and proceeded to order a club blt (untoasted.) Our server," Chunky" was very sweet and super helpful with little tweaks and tips to make sure you got exactly what you wanted. She had the best energy and we even hugged when I left! Super chill vibes from her! My friend ordered the chili cheese purger with seasoned fries and it's your typical quarter pound burger topped with chili, cheese with onions . It comes on a toasted bun and he had seasoned fries and a side of bbq. As mentioned I ordered the blt club and that was bacon, mayo, lettuce and tomato's on white toasted bread. I had a side of regular fries. Everything came out super hot and so fresh. Those fries were so perfect! Crispy on the outside with the most decadent soft inside . So so so good! It was clean plate club for me ! No leftovers lol! If you're up late, early or you just need a quick meal, go give them a shout! It's a cute experience and honestly, it's real food and that's always a great thing about. Thanks so much guys! I'll be wandering over any day now! read more

Tldr: get an itemized receipt! The food was alright, typical cheap diner food. My review is for the cashier. We got up to check out at the register and the cashier input our stuff without going over what we got and said the total for us was $160. I was shocked because that def didn't sound right because there was only 4 of us, but I was tipsy and just figured that maybe the included gratuity was high. I swiped my card and my friends were like hold on, that doesn't sound right. The cashier starts rattling off what we had and we all said yeah that's what we ordered, but that total is not right. She prints the itemized receipt (attached) after swiping my card and it shows we ordered 10 meals. Like there was only 4 of us, how does that even make sense? We start telling her what's wrong and she gives us the new total of $60 and expects me to swipe my card right away. I had to ask her for a refund on the previous swipe, since she hadn't even done that yet. No apologies or anything taken off for "accidentally" charging me triple the price. I'm posting both of my receipts below, and I've seen other ppl posting similar experiences. read more

Ok so I use to have a Steak 'n' Egger on River Road up in Mt Prospect years ago when my Ma & Pa lived in the area, but like many places they disappeared. Fast forward driving down Cermak I passed a Steak 'n' Egger & made a mental note to stop in. Well today was that day. Steak 'n' Egger is on the corner of Cermak & Racine. I had to stop by. Steak 'n' Egger is your typical 50's/60's diner w/stainless steel soffit, SS back splashes & SS kickplates under the counter w/barstools . The walls behind the servers have menu items along w/menus on the counter you can order from. They have a bunch of cool memorabilia on the walls of items from a different era Like the old diners they advertise w/some of their specials. Today I ordered a good old standard breakfast of 2 eggs over easy, 2 sausage Pattie's, 2 pieces of bacon & 2 pancakes. The old 2-2-2-2 special for $8.88. Add in an order of extra crispy hash browns & you have a simple basic meal. This diner is open 24hr a day so if your in the area & have a hankerin fee sum vittles stop on in. Good basic decent food for a good price. Since they're open 24hrs you kin get vittles any time of da day or night, breakfast, lunch or dinner all good. I will definitely be back read more

There's nothing good or bad about this place to me. Last time there I had the steak and eggs. It was okay.

We went here at about 10 PM on the way home from a ride with a few friends. The service here was pretty kind, decent atmosphere, and the portions are pretty large. The prices are very fair. Old-school diner I haven't tried out before. They take cash, card, and Apple Pay. read more

While I usually love steak n egger this woman made my experience terrible. If you come in and see her, leave! She hates her job and gives customers unnecessary attitude due to her own personal issues. I asked this lady to give me a receipt or some type of bill to see what I was being charged for, she refused and said that I could see my bill AFTER I paid. She also got my order wrong, which is why I asked to see my bill before being charged. After charging me and seeing that my bill was wrong she refused to fix it or refund me for overcharging me. read more

This place is my all time favorite for breakfast/brunch. My bf and I go here ATLEAST once a week when we don't want to make breakfast. This place is great because the wait staff is extremely friendly, the food comes quickly & tastes delicious. Definitely my all time favorite diner -& this really says a lot because I was never a fan of diners until I came to this place. My go to is the T-Bone Steak with sunny side up eggs, hash browns & white toast. My bf goes with the veggie lover's skillet. Both are our absolute favorites and never disappoint. This is your typical old school, greasy spoon, late night spot located in Pilsen. I went for breakfast on a weekend morning and it was busy but not overly crowded, which was nice because it's a small place so you run the risk of not finding a seat. Maaaaaan...., I used to love this place as a kid, and even as an adult. Today though, this is just shit! Our server, Chunky told us we had to pay in advance for food. Why, you ask? Because multiple people walked out last weekend, amounting to $300 of loss. Well, an hour after we paid in advance, and seeing our server just speak to the same three people, we are still here. We asked politely for our food, a copy of our receipt, and the server still went back and spoke to the same people. Finally, we got a receipt here, and at that point another server left because it seems others were getting their tickets ahead of ours. All I know is this service has gone from good, to bad, to worse. Maybe, a bit of over communication would help: the cook is the day cook and he is used to a different rhythm--let us know, there is some delay--tell us, you forgot the toast--apologize and, I don't know, provide some extra item or a discount for the exorbitant delay. I don't know who the manger is, but please make this the place it was before. Hopefully, people won't walk out if you service people right. No nonsense efficient service was a hallmark of this place, with some hearty food. Don't miss the mark! read more

Amazing place to dine! I've been going here with my dad since I was a kid and the service has never changed. The waitresses are amazing and treat us like family all the time! The food is always terrible. My fiance liked his pancakes last time we came so I decided to give it one more try. It somehow came out worst than the first time I came. I've tried their hashbrowns, eggs, toast, bacon, sausage and unless you like a disgusting amount of butter their pancakes too are all terrible. This is a breakfast place but not one breakfast item tastes good. Save your money and don't come here. read more

I have been coming to this location for years. Your ideal hole in the wall diner providing the perfect 24 hour spot for delicious late night food after a night of partying. The Mexican chicken is my FAVORITE. Since they have added that to the menu, I haven't tried anything else. Plus, they have raisin toast. Literally, why would I go anywhere else? Raisin toast is such a hidden gem that should not be ignored. PS: now that I know I can order 24/7 through DoorDash, my life is forever changed. read more

I only have experience with carry-out here. My sister came last year after the 'The Other Art Fair' and we both did carryout here after the same show in May 2019. I was struck by the signs on the wall; there are so many you can read them all day! A few tvs were on as well behind the counter. I guess there is not much of a view, and after dark there's really nothing to see! The service was friendly and informative, esp when I asked for decaf coffee to go. We got the open faced turkey sandwich, salad, hash browns instead of mashed potatoes, and apple pie. The Styrofoam container was HUGE and big enough to share. The turkey did seem like a deli type rather than fresh sliced but it was fine, and the hash browns were great. Only thing I did not care for were the canned veggies on top, potatoes/carrots/peas. They remind me of the veggies you get in vegetable soup, mostly salt, no flavor or nutrition. The pie was good heated the next day. I'd go again if I'm in the area. I'm curious to see how the table service is. read more

I've been going here since I was a little kid so I have a nostalgic feeling towards this place. I love a good flat top grill and this place has just that. I love the decorations all over the place. It's got that kitchy dinner feel to it. They are also open 24/7. I like to get breakfast from here because well 24/7 breakfast is awesome! I like getting the Mexican chicken because I like all the peppers and grilled onions that come with the chicken. I sometimes order the pork chops because you get a good helping of those! Small parking lot, but you should be fine, easy to get to if you're near Pilsen, right on Cermak. It's 24/7 which is nice, but just know if you go late, which I did, the wait might be longer since not as many places are open late now. It wasn't too bad, but there was a line for sure.
