I ordered a Hot Chocolate Abuelita and the Mexican Toast, which is basically a panini-style toast topped with guacamole, queso fresco, and two perfectly cooked sunny-side-up eggs. When the dish arrived, it honestly looked like a masterpiece. The two sunny-side-up eggs were perfect, with those bright yellow, shiny yolks sitting right on top. Once I cut into them, the yolk was runny, spreading over the creamy guacamole and toast. The avocado was smooth and fresh, while the queso fresco added a mild salty flavor that balanced everything. The toast had a nice crunch on the outside but still had enough softness underneath to hold everything together. The hot chocolate was exactly what I wanted on a Saturday morning. It came out steaming hot, creamy, rich, and full of that classic cinnamon-and-chocolate flavor from Abuelita. It was sweet and paired perfectly with the savory breakfast. Great presentation, great flavors, and definitely a place I'm happy I finally got to try.

Looking through the menu at Ahuevo, I was interested in the "El Vurrito (Vegan)," which is a 100% plant-based burrito featuring vegan eggs, melty vegan cheddar, smoky vegan chipotle mayo, and crispy, golden tater tots--all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Yum! I must say that I was surprised to see it on the menu, and it became the sole purpose of my order. I ended up ordering it with vegan sausage. I love ordering online for the convenience and the ability to schedule a pickup time. Most of the time, my orders are ready--or nearly ready--upon arrival. I considered the salmon pasta or jerk bowl and went with the jerk since the salmon pasta looked mostly pasta with some salmon pieces scattered about. The jerk bowl was disappointing. Before i ordered i saw that the ingredients looked prepackaged (canned beans, store pico & corn.) Even the sauce was poured directly from a bottle, but decided to support the business anyway since everything around the office is fast food or a sit down restaurant. I hate to report that the taste matched the look of the individual ingredients -- very bland. Not worth $16 at all
