Wow... I wasn't aware of your game Ahuevo. I'm always on the hunt for a good burger and you guys did NOT disappoint. Mind you, this was a DoorDash order so I'm even more impressed. First, I really appreciate how well packaged everything was. Second, it arrived in perfect and steaming hot condition . Thirdly, the portion was actually insane . I stg 5 bites in I gave it up lol. To be fair I'm not the biggest eater but I loooove a good meal and this was just that! Also please don't be fooled by the angle of the fries, i had already eaten some and i assure you it was full to the top. I ordered the smash burger and added caramelized onions and bacon because bacon . I also fries with a side of cheese sauce(gotta have it ) the first bite almost 100% healed me. This thing was HEAVY ! I appreciate when I can taste the freshness of ingredients . The cheese was a stand alone star all by itself . I know I say this allll the time but it's true. My friend and I went here for Sunday after day 1 of Beyond Wonderland. We were hungry and hungover. The place was busy and we were fortunate to find two bar stools. We each ordered the Canadian bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was the right level of greasy and tasty. I ordered a side of tots because I love potato any and hash browns. Came to Ahuevo for brunch and the breakfast here was absolutely delicious. It's located inside of Mi Tierra restaurant in Little Village and the space has a great vibe and stylish decor. The staff was great asking us when we arrived if we needed a menu for Ahuevo or Mi Tierra. I ordered The Ahuevo and the Turkey Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich. Both were great. The bread was fresh, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. We also tried the puffy tots, which were super crispy along with an Abuelita Hot Chocolate and Horchata. For something sweet, we had the Guava y Coco cookies, which were also really good. At first it's confusing because it's inside of another restaurant, but don't let that scare you! Totally brilliant. Hubs got the burrito and I got the sausage egg sandwich on brioche. There was a little confusion finding the place, not because of the location, but because of the name. Ahuevo and Mi Tierra are one and the same. Had Ahuevo on Harrison, (their new location) with some friends and everything was fantastic. The double smash burger with everything was unreal -- crispy, juicy, and the flavors made it truly the best smash burger I've had in Chicago. The breakfast burrito with vegan chorizo was delicious, especially with their green salsa. The BLT was simple but good. The tater tots were absolutely amazing, perfectly crispy and soft inside addictive. The Horchata was honestly the best I've ever had. First of all, this is an excellent place for breakfast. I am a huge fan of the breakfast burritos. I don't think you can go wrong with any selection, but my favorite burrito has over easy eggs, pork sausage and grilled onions BUT the bacon burrito with scrambled eggs is also outstanding. And for the coffee: do yourself a favor and try a large iced coffee-horchata mix. IT'S DELICIOUS. The fact that food this good is also inexpensive is amazing. The service was excellent; very professional without hovering over the table. And the fact that this restaurant is, by night, a banging Mexican restaurant makes the atmosphere vibrant and inviting. These breakfast sandwiches were full of flavor and very filling. They can get very messy while you are eating them but they do a wonderful job at packaging them up for take-out orders. It was a bit confusing to find where to order because it is inside the Mi Tierra restaurant. When you walk in, go to the left and there will be menus for you to order from. We had to ask employees twice because we didn't know where to go and they were extremely kind and helpful. Ghost kitchen inside Mi Tierra Mexican restaurant, and 100% recommend trying them out! Egg sandwich that makes you lick your fingers after you've finished it! We did the Ahuevo Scrambled Egg Sandwich, I added bacon and my husband had sausage. The scrambled eggs are delicious, the sriracha mayo is the perfect touch! The only complaint is it's a little messy because it's very buttery so the wrapper is a little too greasy. Also get the iced coffee if you like sweet drinks. It's your typical sweet Mexican coffee :) Pick up is a little confusing because it's inside the restaurant, but the staff was super welcoming and nice. Well good morning as it is while I post this review gents and ladies. Let's start with the coffee it's not the best or the worst but it is a strong brew though just to give you a heads up unless your a crazy coffee drinker then it should be fine for you lol. We also had the horchata and it's good just in the sweet side though but good over all. I had the double smash burger and it was good tasty and filling toppings are fresh and buns are really good as well and made a good choice to go with the meat very juicy as well. My wife had the Canadian bacon egg and cheese sandwich and it was very good perfect portion and soft to the touch mua well done. FYI the restaurant is inside Mi Tierra ok guys so park inside the Mi Tierra parking lot ok . I do recommend this place for sure they close at 2pm ok guys so you also know. I ordered take out this morning and let me just say, AMAZING FOOD. It was good timing as well, I arrived when my pick order said it was ready and they had it out to me just a minute later. Absolutely nothing wrong with the food. The ladies behind the host/ pick up stand were also very friendly and approachable. It was my first time stepping in for pick up, I had previously been in to Dine In at Mi Tierra. Now, I do have some suggestions for management regarding the female bartender behind the service bar this morning. When I stepped in I was looking for the pick up area, and the first employee I saw was the bartender behind the service bar so I inquired where I could pick up my take out order from "Ahuevo", she motioned to the left side of the restaurant and said this is it (looking back now I don't think she understood my question, or rather didn't care to want to understand my question). So I go back to the service bar and mention I have a pick up order, and she annoyingly says to her coworker in Spanish "le puedes ayudar" (lol yes I speak Spanish so I understood what she said) to which the coworker looks at her confused ( Almost saying like why me? & why can't you?? LOL, girl. Same internal reaction I had). So I walk away to find the ladies at the pick up section. My thing is, that's just bad customer service and a bad respresentation for the business. I could tell that they were all very busy for their brunch hour, however having previous hospitality experience myself, there is a certain way to address paying customers, and her lack of professionalism left a sour taste in my mouth and showed a lack of etiquette. I hope that management can take my critique and use it as a training opportunity for this employee so that this doesn't happen in the near future again.
