Double smash burger w/ bacon and over medium egg. Agua De Jamaica and fresh cut Crinkle Fries.
Brandon D.

Ahuevo's Double Smash Burger (the most popular item on the menu) delivers a classic smash burger experience elevated by thoughtful execution: two 100% American beef patties, real American cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and a signature secret sauce all nestled in a soft, buttery brioche bun . The patties are seared thin and crisp at the edges, which maximizes savory beef flavor and adds pleasant texture contrast. Reviewers on platforms like Restaurantji and TrustTheCrowd praise the balance of juicy meat and tangy toppings, and mention the locally‑made, fluffy bun as a standout feature . With a price around $10.99, the burger offers strong value, generous portions, and is consistently described as reliably excellent by a staff that clearly cares about service and ingredient quality. Good Mexican ambiance. Complementing the hearty burger, the Agua de Jamaica hibiscus drink offers a refreshing tropical contrast. It's a lightly tart, floral iced tea served from a newly added menu item at Ahuevo in Chicago--typically around $2 for a 16‑oz cup, making it excellent bang for the buck . The drink's bright crimson hue and crisp flavor cut through the richness of the burger with a clean finish. Customers often pair it with breakfast tater tots or egg sandwiches as a cooling palate cleanser. For those seeking a lighter, more refreshing beverage alongside a savory and hearty sandwich, the Jamaica drink is a perfect match. Overall, Ahuevo nails the fundamentals of a smash burger--think juicy, seared beef, crisp toppings, and handmade brioche--while their Agua de Jamaica adds a smart, refreshing foil that rounds out the meal beautifully.

This Gem is worth looking for !!! If you are interested in one of the best Breakfast sandwiches or burritos, you have to try Ahuevo if you're in the area of Little Village. It's literally a Restaurant inside a Restaurant ! Mi Tierra 2528 S. Kedzie The staff is very kind and polite !!! My choice for today was a breakfast sandwich which was pretty tasty, can't wait to try something else off the menu !!! So stop by if ever in the neighborhood!!!

This restaurant is inside another restaurant called Mi Tierra. The young lady who assisted us was very nice. We are able to sit inside the restaurant and eat. It looked very clean. I had the puffy tots con huevos and my friend had the turkey sausage and egg sandwich. I also had the Cafe con chata. I received it cold but I know it would taste just as delicious hot. We had no complaints in regards to our food. Everything received was good and hot.

Came to Ahuevo for brunch and the breakfast here was absolutely delicious. It's located inside of Mi Tierra restaurant in Little Village and the space has a great vibe and stylish decor. The staff was great asking us when we arrived if we needed a menu for Ahuevo or Mi Tierra. I ordered The Ahuevo and the Turkey Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich. Both were great. The bread was fresh, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. We also tried the puffy tots, which were super crispy along with an Abuelita Hot Chocolate and Horchata. For something sweet, we had the Guava y Coco cookies, which were also really good. Definitely need to come back here to try more off the Ahuevo menu as well as the food on Mi Tierra's menu.

Food Ambiance Service - got better after we spoke. Went to see the "Shameless" house from the TV series, and this place wasn't far. There was a little confusion finding the place, not because of the location, but because of the name. Ahuevo and Mi Tierra are one and the same. Anyway, greeted, and seated right away, and that's when the one and only issue came up. It seemed as if we were forgotten for a few minutes before I had to get up and speak to someone that we are still waiting to be seen. After that everything went well. I would definitely come back here!

Quite simply the best breakfast sandwhich I've had in Chicago. Note: it's a ghost kitchen but they have signs posted outside of Mi Tierra.

only giving this four stars because they didn't add my tater tots on the sandwich. i was looking for a place that had a vegan breakfast sandwich option for me and a non vegan option for my sis. so this was the perfect place. the girls taking our to go order were friendly and pleasant. it was inside of a huge restaurant so if we wanted to dine in that was definitely an option but we chose to grab ours to go. overall loved the space and would definitely go back.

Had Ahuevo on Harrison, (their new location) with some friends and everything was fantastic. The double smash burger with everything was unreal -- crispy, juicy, and the flavors made it truly the best smash burger I've had in Chicago. The breakfast burrito with vegan chorizo was delicious, especially with their green salsa. The BLT was simple but good. The tater tots were absolutely amazing, perfectly crispy and soft inside addictive. The Horchata was honestly the best I've ever had. And don't forget the guava coconut and strawberry cookies -- they were so tasty and the perfect sweet ending. Everything tasted super fresh and well-made. Place has an awesome vibe and quick service! I'll absolutely be back, and it's an excellent spot for delivery too.

Great packaging!

This food was so good that I ate on it all day! I ordered the Scrambled Egg Sandwich with sausage and tater tots. First, the packaging was GREAT! A lot of times, food delivery comes just wrapped in paper and thrown in a plastic bag. Not this food, though. The sandwich was STACKED with scrambled eggs. They were fluffy, creamy, and well-seasoned. The cheddar cheese literally covered every inch of the eggs, so I was able to get everything all in 1 bite. And what a delicious bite it was, especially on the buttery, toasted bun. The tater tots were also well-seasoned, and the Sriracha mayo gave them the right amount of kick. I WILL be a repeat customer! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

Definitely recommend, came in because where we had intended on going was super packed, so next time... Wasn't sure what to expect, but was hidden in plain sight. Inside of Mi Tierra for those wondering. I had the Ahuevo sandwich with some really fluffy eggs, so good. Had their house green salsa and was very good. The puffy taters are a must! Had the Jamaica and was pleasantly surprised, wasn't overly sweet. It was not crowded but plenty of people were having breakfast. Was able to talk without talking too loud or having to overhear other's conversations lol. Noticed so many carry out orders for pickup while we there. Will have to go back and try something new.

If you're on the hunt for the best breakfast sandwich in Chicago, Ahuevo is the spot! It's located inside/next to Mi Tierra restaurant, which might be a little confusing at first, but just look for the canopy entrance on the main street, and you'll find it. Ordered pick up, so no interior photos, maybe next time. Parking Situation: There's a parking lot available, but it was pretty full when I went. Luckily, I still found a spot. Street parking is also an option--it's a busy area, but nothing too stressful when it comes to finding a space. The Food: Let's talk about this breakfast sandwich. WOW. The egg was fresh and cooked softly to perfection, the turkey sausage was juicy and tender, and the brioche bun was absolutely delicious. The sauce ties it all together in the best way--it's honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Added avocado to mine, que rico! You have to get the puffy tots! They're light, crispy, and perfectly soft on the inside. Pair them with the chipotle sauce, and it's game over. That sauce is packed with flavor--10/10 for sure. Overall Experience: Ahuevo is a hidden gem that serves up breakfast perfection. The flavors, the quality, and the vibe are unmatched. I love this place and can't wait to go back! Pro Tip: Don't be discouraged if the parking lot looks busy--there are usually spots, and it's worth the effort to get here.

Puffy tots with egg.

I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything is made fresh to order so wait times are longer than expected but no biggie, you are heavily rewarded once the food comes out. We also had the pleasure of meeting Lazaro the owner, great guy. We wish you much success my friend!!

Showed up to a line and I can see why! The prices are super cheap for this high rent area and the subs are made with fresh ingredients all the way down to local bread! Jim, the owner, has this place dialed in and takes pride in what he is putting out. I wish more restaurant owners had the same mentality that he does for quality over quantity. The space is amazing too, has the old world charm that you seek out in these older buildings. I feel very lucky to have got to go to this wonderful restaurant and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a great sub at a terrific price! While in the area some time ago visiting Five Guys, I couldn't help but notice Schlotzsky's sign…read moreprior to leaving the area, which had a glowing eye-catching storefront sign. I imagined it was an ice cream shop, but after checking their website, I discovered they serve oven-baked sandwiches on signature sourdough bread, gourmet pizzas, flatbreads, calzones, fresh salads and Cinnabons as well. My initial visit came unexpectedly while headed to do laundry. Schlotzsky's is located within the Illinois Medical District in a sector filled with many well-known restaurant chains. I must warn you beforehand, but it can be a painful experience finding a parking space in this tight lot, which also shares space with a Hampton Inn. I honestly thought that was a poor location for a Hampton Inn--let alone any hotel--but I guess it is a win if you are staying at the hotel itself. I was acknowledged shortly by the employee who assisted me after walking up to the counter to review the menu. After browsing the offerings listed above, I ended up ordering the veggie supreme pizza. I chose it because nothing else on the menu interested me, except for their broccoli soup. My order was completed less than 10 minutes after I placed it. During that time, I was able to thoroughly look over the menu and snap pictures of it to share on Yelp. I opted not to dine in and chose to take my order to go. While there was nothing wrong with the atmosphere, I was on my way to do laundry after visiting a nearby post office. Aside from that, the dining area appeared clean, the atmosphere was calm, and there were plenty of tables and seats available. I was really pleased with the appearance of the veggie supreme pizza; it was bigger than I expected. The gluten-free cauliflower crust was topped with sliced mushrooms, green peppers, red onions, and black olives, then sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Right before taking my first bite in between doing my laundry, I had a huge smirk on my face. It was incredibly satisfying; the toppings were evenly spread throughout, delivering the exact taste I anticipated. The first thing that hit me was the vibrant harmony of flavors. The sauce provided a savory baseline that perfectly complemented the earthy richness of the melted cheese. What truly elevated the experience, though, is the cauliflower crust. It held up beautifully under the evenly spread-out toppings, offering a delightful, crispy base that let the freshness of the veggies shine without feeling heavy. Every single bite is a balanced explosion of savory, tangy, and garden-fresh goodness. If you are unsure about what to order from the menu, look no further than the veggie supreme pizza--you will not be disappointed. Being that I had a great ordering experience, I would surely order from Schlotzsky's again whenever visiting the area. Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Food: 5 | Overall Rating: 4 ~ Live. Laugh. Small spot you could casually pick up food and walk to if you're around downtown. Lots of cheese and sauce with a beautiful baguette to remind you that this place makes pizza too. Dough, cheese, and sauce are what this place really excels in. It's no surprise that they do it well across the board. Out of the sandwiches I tried, the gardinera pairs the best with the Drunken Chicken sandwich. I'm unsure if my hunger pangs were amplifying my experience, but this sandwich was something of legends... The ingredients combo into something a little too unfair to not be distributed to the rest of America. The food really feels special when you have it late night after a really long day of fun. The people are casual and nice and didn't make it awkward to eat there even though the place itself is quite small. Considering cops came in to order here out of all the places around, I can see how anyone could make this their staple spot.

This one was a huge letdown! Been following known as for a while it was super excited to stop in…read morewhile traveling in Chicago. For starters I arrived at like 10:50 AM, they said they opened at 11. At like 1110 I'm looking around confused thinking maybe I missed something so I started checking their Instagram and see if maybe they had a last-minute closure. That was not the case at all they just opened about 15 minutes late that day for some reason. Once they finally open the doors and we get inside, I take a quick look at the menu in order the chicken Parm sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to come up. But I can say it was hot and seemed like they just cooked it fresh. I go to sit outside open it up take a bite absolutely zero seasoning Period I mean it has the breading on the chicken but I mean there's no kind of flavor in the breading so I taste this tomato sauce or the marinara that comes on the side that's just straight blended tomatoes, no salt, no sugar no spices no herbs nothing. I leave the food go inside ask for salt they end up giving me a small ramekin of salt. I go out and try seasoned the food so it's at least semi-edible. Unfortunately, top seasoning. Food is not the same as seasoning it along the way when you're prepping the food and so while I did help it a little bit it's still left a lot to be desired. I'm super disappointed that this is my experience because I had high hopes for this restaurant, I really wanted to enjoy a delicious sandwich instead, I received Some hot bland cutlets on bread. I don't know, maybe this is a bad day, maybe their delivery for season and didn't come in from their purveyor. I really don't know the issue. Maybe they got so busy. They forgot to season the food. All I know is at the end of the day. I paid the full price and got none of the seasoning that should've been on the food. Hell, I would've paid a little bit extra for it if I had to. Just highly disappointing because it was hot, the cheese was melted, it had the capability to be such a phenomenal sandwich, but it was really missing some key ingredients. Maybe then, being behind an open late should've been assigned that it was not gonna be their best performance. But after traveling across the country, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because we all have bad days unfortunately, the day got worse than just opening a little bit late.
