I really enjoyed my experience here! My friend and I came around 1pm and there were still a lot of people enjoying their food! In the morning, the wait times get pretty long, so I recommend coming later in the afternoon to get seated right away. We had the creamy chicken poblano soup, southwest chicken salad, wild mushroom crepes and seasoned fries. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend checking this spot out. The staff is shelf friendly and they are really good with kids!

Late Review Been here about 3 times and this is my favorite location. It's small inside but I love cozy space. Every time I come I ALWAYS get the same cookie butter pancakes which are delicious. I always enjoy my meal with each visit. The service is good. Fast paced, nonstop movement because they're really busy. You'll never have too many dishes on the table. The host is a doll. I'm sure they have more than one, but I always see the same one. Very sweet! Overall 8.5/10

Diner perfection! The classic americana diner brings all the classics to the table! And more! The Dubai pancakes were incredible! The scramble was fantastic with hashbrown potatoes! I was with a big group and the servers did a great job accommodating us. They can only use up to 3 cards so just know that if you are going with a big group!

Over the years, they still don't miss. My go-to meals are the Spanish Harlem, Starving Student, and the oatmeal pancakes--all consistently delicious. They've even added alcoholic drinks to the menu now, which is a nice touch. Local, tasty, and efficient--they get you in and out without the fuss.

Great food, service and drinks right here!!!

The service was exceptional! The place was packed and managed to seat us in under 90 seconds and did so with a smile! I wish I could remember our servers name- she was training someone and I felt like we were her only customers. And... everyone took care of us- all the staff made sure we were good and didn't need anything! The food was extraordinary! My daughter had a mini off the Nutella/raspberry French toast and a mini off the cookie butter pancakes and she was in heaven! I had a bacon, broccoli and pepper jack omelette and a side of pepper bacon! When I say I hand off want to come back to Chicago just to eat here again... I'm telling you the truth! The latte got rave reviews from my 17 year old too- a picture is worth a thousand words so please take a look! With all the hustle and bustle the ambience was great! I love seeing places that both event and service oriented- this Stax Cafe sets the bar pretty high!

Yummy food! Not a need to go to, but we didn't get the pancakes so that's on us... need to go back and get them and give them a real try lol

We were looking for somewhere close to eat after hockey this morning and decided to try Stax cafe. When we walked in it was very bright and vibrant. We were quickly greeted and seated by the staff. I ordered the brisket hash and ordered a round of butter pecan waffles to split for the table. Food came out in no time. The brisket itself reminded me of a pot roast and the eggs were a grewt topper. The potatoes were boiled which was a nice change to the classic fried. The waffles weren't bad either.

Veggie Skillet added ham and scrambled eggs.

Best brunch spot. Bloody Mary, fruit frenchie, Cali club sandwich, and quesadillas were great. Service was super friendly and efficient in a packed restaurant. It's loud but comfortable.

I was seriously craving brunch food but didn't feel like stepping out of the house so I decided to order from Stax Cafe through Uber Eats. I've been to the restaurant once before and remember it being super crowded which makes sense because the food is usually really good. The portion sizes are generous and I think the price matches the quality when dining in. This time I ordered the chicken sandwich and the chocolate chip pancake. While the portions were still great the flavor just didn't hit the same. Everything was cooked well but the sandwich felt a bit dry and could've used more sauce. As for the pancake I'm not sure what it was maybe the maple syrup but it didn't quite go with the chocolate chips the way I hoped. Overall I'd definitely recommend dining in if you can. The food experience is way better in person than through delivery.

Love Stax! It's the perfect breakfast spot. The prices are very good for what you get. For the folks not looking for mimosas, they have coffee, fresh juice, tea, etc. My hazelnut latte was so good! After you dine in, pay at the hostess stand. Service is great and there is plenty of space for a large group.

The place is small but nice. We got seated pretty fast during a late breakfast. We were half and half with the food. Steak and eggs with chimichurri and pico de gallo was tender and seasoned properly. The braised beef brisket Benedict was also tasty. The chorizo and poblano was lacking something. It was sort of bland. My daughter had to ad a lot of Cholula. They have their own coffee blend from Sparrow and it was one of the best brewed coffee. Too bad they didn't have a bag to sell for home. The staff were friendly and we got our food in a timely manner.

We came here for breakfast after seeing Beyonce in Chicago. This place was such a great choice. I will say the potatoes were so delicious, I ordered more to go. Our service was quick and over servers did not hesitate to jump in to help as needed. It was really cute inside and had lots of seating. We were able to find street parking outside, not far from the building. If I have the opportunity to come back, I will!

Ordered a skillet breakfast, SOOOOO OILY I got violently ill immediately after I ate some it. The waitress was so nice. She helped me to the bathroom so I could throw up! They were nice enough not to charge me for the breakfast

They also have a patio, and with the weather being nice, it was easy to just sit outside and relax for a while. I was honestly too hungry to spend much time deciding, so I just ordered one of the sourdough donut ball. It was exactly what I was hoping for. The outside had a light coating of sugar that gave it just the right amount of sweetness without being too much. Once I bit into it, the inside was soft, airy, and slightly chewy from the sourdough, which made it different from a regular donut. There was a subtle tang from the sourdough that balanced the sweetness really well, so it never felt overly sugary. It had a light crispness on the outside, then a warm, pillowy center that practically melted away with each bite. I finished it way faster than I expected. The only thing I forgot was ordering something to drink with it. Looking back, a good coffee would've made it even better. Still, I'd definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the area.

Our family and extended family often ordered birthday cakes from them, and their mango cake was our favorite. When mangoes were in season, they used plenty of fresh mango in the cakes. Their cakes are always fresh, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My daughter and I also love their individual cakes, especially the Black Pearl and Walnut Cake. Their pineapple buns and egg tarts are her favorites as well. Saint Anna has also been part of our daughter's childhood. When she was little, my husband used to bring her here before or after Chinese school in Chinatown on Sundays. Her go-to breakfast items were the Butter Bun, Ham and Macaroni in Soup, and Diced Ham and Corn in Cream Rice. As she got older, Curry Chicken with Potato became her favorite. She especially loved the potato cubes soaked in the delicious, mild curry sauce. She would always ask for more potatoes and less chicken, haha! Saint Anna is a family-run business, and Sara and Irene, the daughters-in-law, used to take care of the front of house. They were always so friendly and accommodating. After a 6-year hiatus, we finally returned one Friday recently when we happened to be in the area with a friend. Sara is now a co-owner, and it was wonderful to see her again. She immediately recognized us and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked me to relay her greetings to my sisters when she greeted us and again when we were leaving. Those little gestures made our return feel especially meaningful. We were still full from a big dim sum lunch, so my daughter picked up 2 Mini Pineapple Buns and 2 Paper-Wrapped Sponge Cakes, while I got a Red Bean Roll. Everything was fresh, soft, and delicious, and the total came to just under $8, really a great value. Our friend also purchased 2 Fried Sticky Rice Dumplings with Chicken. I had never really paid attention to their limited dim sum selection before, so that was a nice discovery. We love Saint Anna and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.
