I stopped in with a few friends on a Saturday afternoon around 1:00pm. Chicago Waffles wasn't my preferred destination, but I went along with it because one of my friends enjoys the south loop location. We walked in and were greeted promptly by the host. She seated us in a quiet spot in the corner near the restrooms. Our waiter was attentive and funny. For me, he was the best part of the entire experience. I don't care much for breakfast food, so I had the American burger. I prefer my burgers well done but ordered it medium well because I didn't want the cooks to burn the patty. The burger was very greasy, and not very good. It also had a slight off-putting smell that made me worry about becoming ill. (Thankfully that didn't happen) It tasted okay, but I can't say that it was enjoyable. It was edible, which isn't saying much. The waffle fries were nothing spectacular either. I was disappointed with my food. I also had the mango smoothie, which was decent. My sister had the corned beef hash, eggs, toast, and potatoes. She really liked her food, especially the corned beef. My friend Shannon had the French toast flight, but she didn't eat much of it because she said it was too sweet. Our other friend had the eggs, bacon, and potatoes, which he enjoyed. I wouldn't visit Chicago Waffles again, but everyone else in my party said they would so take that for what it's worth. The restaurant was busy, but the staff did a great job running the show. The space is bright and cozy. We didn't feel rushed even though the restaurant was bustling. I'm giving it 3 stars since two of my friends enjoyed their food.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the waitstaff quickly seated us at a 2-top short table. Our waitress stopped by to greet and recommend some options. We both went with shack skillets...I decided on the short rib, scrambled eggs, no cheese, w/ a pancake and she went w/ the meat lover. I prefer hash browns vs home fries so I didn't have high hopes; boy was I surprised. The potatoes are seasoned very well, rib meat was very tender, and fluffy eggs; added a little hot sauce and yummy. The portion size is enough to share as I have half the skillet and both pancakes as leftovers. I will be back!

We got the Fiesta Avo Toast, Mediterranean Shakshuka, Fresh Garden Skillet, Casa Chilaquiles, Dubai Chocolate Crepes, Waffle Flight, and Pancakes. Everything was really good. My favorites were the Chilaquiles, the Skillet, the Avocado Toast, and the Waffle Flight. The chocolate one was especially good. There are a few locations around the city and it's such a great spot for brunch. Definitely recommend.
I was very excited to try this place for brunch with friends, but overall it did not meet my expectations. Good: service was prompt, they were always checking on our glasses of water and coffee. They were never left empty. And the coffee was delicious. Not good: my matcha waffle was deceiving to say the least. It didn't taste like matcha at all. It just tasted like plain waffle batter... What was more disappointing was the overwhelming, off-putting artificial green color. It was more like Green Lantern 's green, and it's everything Matcha is NOT. It's an insult to matcha lovers. I would have enjoyed a plain waffle. They also charge a 3% credit card fee, and the server would not give us separate checks. Overall it was not worth the wait.
I loveeee their homemade vanilla whipped cream + their chilaquiles! Get half red sauce and half green sauce! Also, they just opened a new location in Lincoln Square that's so cute with plenty of outdoor dining. The vegan burrito is a great addition to the menu (featuring just egg and soy chorizo!) The server recommended their matcha (raspberry and lavender) and both of them were delicious!
We arrived at 12:05p and had a 10 minute wait for a party of 6. We were sat quickly and the server arrived promptly to take our drink & food order. Sadly after getting our drinks and food orders in, we didn't see our server for quite some time after. Other servers brought the drinks and then our server randomly brought us a bottle of prosecco on the house. About 40 minutes went by after placing the order and we began to question where our food was. The food came out at 1:20p and here's an overview of the items we had. Lemon blueberry Waffle - was a 7/10 the blueberry cream cheese topping was light and fluffy, along with the whipped cinnamon cream. The waffle itself was a bit dry and didn't have much flavor. The breakfast tacos - were a 6/10 they were very filling but didn't come with the cilantro and were a bit thrown together The espresso martini was a 7.5/10 it was a on the creamy side, a good pour and not overly bitter. The mango martini was a 7/10 it was well mixed and not overly sweet. The breakfast sampler was a 5/10 the toast and bacon were overly burnt.

Yummmm is all I have to say! I went in on a Saturday morning and made a reservation on Yelp, but it wasn't necessary. I saw many parties come in and get seated within 5-10 minutes. However, that's not to say that a reservation could be helpful, since you can't predict how busy they'd be. The service was great. We were given waters and what we wanted to drink within minutes of seating. I had the berry smoothie which tasted sweet and fresh. The food was definitely the star of the show. The steak and eggs were DELICIOUS and my steak was cooked perfectly medium. They even had some cute instagram-able spots to sit and capture photos. I can't wait to come back!
We have been here before and had a good meal. We went again the other day and had a different experience! The service was very slow. It was a Saturday morning and the staff apologized and thanked us for our patience, so that wasn't a big issue. All of the food was very good except for my waffles. With the restaurant name, Waffles, that is sort of a disappointment! My waffles had very little flavor so the toppings helped but the texture was the issue. My waffles were very tough and hard to cut, definitely no soft and fluffy like they should be.
1st time coming here, I ordered the mediterrean shasuka, my Wife had ham, eggs, & potatoes. Man listen, that shasuka which is a soup with poached eggs, jalapenos, onions and red peppers, in a spicy broth. We'll definitely be back. I forgot to show the before pic, but here's the after

Amazing espresso, superb avocado toast and exceptional fruit cup. I ate at Chicago Waffles a couple years ago and it was great, this time they took it up a notch. So many shops have good espresso machines but don't know how to use them. Chicago Waffles makes a perfect well balanced shot. The Festa Avocado Toast was fantastic. The salsa with fresh tomatoes and topped with Salsa Macha was so delicious. I had to ask the manager where they buy their salsa macha. Most fruit cups are utterly disappointing. Wanted to love this place more as it seemed like a pretty popular neighborhood breakfast joint but had a pretty average experience overall. I ordered the original waffle sandwich with bacon which came with a side of fruit and maple syrup . It was a good portion size but overall the sandwich was pretty bland and it's a bit pricey for the quality of dish. It is table service to order and while you eat but you go up to the counter to pay when you're ready to cash out. They have an extremely large menu so you could definitely find something sweet or savory depending on what you prefer and it's a very casual spot with a nice outdoor area to sit if you like. read more

We have been here before and had a good meal. We went again the other day and had a different experience! The service was very slow. It was a Saturday morning and the staff apologized and thanked us for our patience, so that wasn't a big issue. All of the food was very good except for my waffles. With the restaurant name, Waffles, that is sort of a disappointment! My waffles had very little flavor so the toppings helped but the texture was the issue. Yummy specialty pancakes. Would recommend the very berry pancakes without the vanilla icing, it was a weird flavor. Friend enjoyed her apple pancakes. Almost everything can be made gluten-free which is great! Good service, cute restaurant decorated perfectly for Valentine's Day. read more
Good little reliable brunch spot! Definitely recommend coming earlier on the weekends or making a reservation as just gets packed around 11/12. They have a lot of options on the menu for everyone. Absolutely incredible food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. There's a wide variety of breakfast options available, sweet and savory, suitable to all tastes. The staff are friendly and capable, getting you taken care of without hovering. And the place has plenty of seats including some outdoor seating, which is good because the place is clearly very popular. I can't speak to the service or ambiance because we ordered takeout through Uber eats (which was delayed). As for the food, we got the red velvet pancakes and the meat lovers skillet. For the red velvet pancakes, I got it without the candied walnuts. I prefer things to not have too many competing tastes, so I personally thought the vanilla frosting and chocolate drizzle were too much. But my boyfriend thought it was really good. As for the meat lovers skillet, my boyfriend said it was good. The favor was good, but he said it was a little heavy on the oil. We have ordered a lot of takeout skillets and this seems to be a recurrent theme across breakfast places. read more

1. Waffle Benedict Trio - three liege waffles, roasted pulled pork, skirt steak, smoked salmon, three poached eggs, hollandaise sauce; with potatoes, fresh fruit 2. Country fried chicken 3. Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake waffles Waffle Benedict Trio is the best bang for buck. It's a tad pricey but can easily be shared by two people. The ingredients are tasty for the most part. Unfortunately , there's some false advertising. "skirt steak" turned out to be ground beef. Country fried chicken tastes nothing like country fried chicken. Blueberry Lemon cheese cake waffles are regular waffles topped with a less than modest amount of blueberry lemon sauce. No complaints about service. read more

Although the interior is cute, the food is a hit or miss. I think the burgers and fries look anemic. The waffle fries definitely could be fried longer. They probably do have great pancakes and waffles though. Potatoes were bland so thankfully they had hot sauce and salt. Service is also forgetful or absent. It was fine in the beginning but there was a good 20 minutes after we finished eating of just sitting there and not knowing what to do. read more

Great breakfast spot that can get busy during the popular brunch hours on the weekend. The staff was super efficient and service was quick. The server ordered our food right away and we ended up getting our food within 15 minutes of being seated! I loved my blueberry lemon waffles and breakfast potatoes. The price was around $12-$20 for an entree. Overall had a great time here with plenty of tables and TVs and would come back! read more

I'm quite the sucker for a great breakfast/brunch place. My friends and I went here for a birthday brunch. Seated quickly with drinks and time to look over the menu. Wait staff were attentive. Food was delicious. There were plenty of patrons but it didn't feel stuffy or crowded. I enjoyed it but I was also with good company so it's a recipe for success read more
Tasty, although a bit pricy for what you get. It's a good spot if you enjoy waffles. It's pretty typical of a West Loop establishment - bustling and rustic in an upscale way, if that makes sense. You will probably have to wait thirty minutes for food on a weekend. This spot is popping on Saturday and Sunday. Check it out if you're a breakfast food enjoyer! read more

We had a great time visiting Chicago Waffles this morning. The service was excellent, attentive, and kind. Our coffees were always full as well as our waters. I stopped by after a night at a concert at the Bottom Lounge. The Hotel I was staying at was close by and in walking distance. I try to visit independent establishments when I am out of town as most hotel breakfast are disappointing. However, breakfast at Chicago Waffles was not disappointing! I try to somewhat eat healthy (as I am a personal trainer) but I do love me a good pancake or fried potato. But all within moderation, right? I understand why their potatoes were called "signature"... the onions were soft and the potatoes were crispy. Everything was tasty and perfectly balanced! read more
