Me and my boyfriend brought our friends here who are visiting out of town. We have never been here before and stopped by because of the market nearby. Our waitress was amazing! She was so sweet and attentive, very easy to talk to. We sat outside on their patio, which was clean and had covering overhead. Our food was amazing! The chips were fresh, my favorite was the green salsa dip. The burger was super juicy and flavorful. The mac and cheese was delicious as well. We hope to come back again before summer ends!

There's just something about a burger that actually lives up to the hype--and Little Bad Wolf does exactly that. Stacked unapologetically high, this burger is everything you want and more: juicy, perfectly seared patties layered with melty cheese, crispy bacon, and those golden, crunchy fried onions that take it completely over the top. Every bite is rich, savory, and just messy enough to remind you you're eating something seriously good. The toasted bun somehow holds it all together (barely), soaking up every bit of flavor without getting lost in the chaos. And then... the shoestring fries. Thin, crispy, golden perfection--light but addictive, with that ideal crunch that makes it impossible to stop at just one (or ten). They're the kind of fries you keep reaching for without even realizing it, especially dipped in that creamy, tangy sauce on the side. And let's not forget the drinks--just as good as the food. Refreshing, perfectly balanced, and the kind you sip slow while taking it all in (but somehow they disappear way too fast). It's not just a burger--it's one of Chicago's most iconic bites for a reason. Bold, indulgent, and absolutely worth every single napkin you'll need after. The ambiance inside is GORGEOUS!

Little Bad Wolf in Andersonville is a solid **4-star spot** for a casual night out. Came in without a reservation and was seated within about 20 minutes, which was pretty reasonable for how busy they get. Street parking in the area wasn't too bad to find either. Started with a mocktail that was surprisingly tasty and well-balanced--nice to have good non-alcoholic options that don't feel like an afterthought. I ordered their Bad Burger with bacon and it definitely delivered--juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. Honestly, the bun was my favorite part--soft, perfectly toasted, and held everything together without getting soggy, which really made the burger stand out. Also tried the lumpia, and as a Filipino, I can say it held up to my standards, which isn't always easy to do. The ambiance leans a bit dark, but the real candles on the tables give it a cozy, intimate vibe that works well for date nights or even group hangouts. Appreciated the inclusive bathroom setup as well--always a thoughtful touch. Overall, a great spot in Andersonville for good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a place that works just as well for a date as it does for catching up with friends. Would definitely come back.

Little Bad Wolf never dissapoints! Creative food and cocktail menu that has a little of everything to choose from. Very cool bar area and interior with stellar service. Outstanding burger and Bao buns! Pro Tip: sister restaurant good wolf next door :)

Burger with side mac & cheese, Waldorf salad

The Bad Burger and mac & cheese were incredible! The Waldorf salad was laughably huge. It definitely is "substantial" and can feed 2-4 people. The sweetness of the salad made it a great accompaniment to the heaviness and savoriness of the burger and mac. Friendly and efficient service at the bar. Would love to come back again.

The burger with onion rings and Mac and cheese are pure gluttony and greed- in a good way It's usually pretty easy to get seated. The interior is like a dark and moody pub run by millenials if that makes sense Come here if you want a real midwestern meal to put you into a food coma right after

Deep fried miatake mushroom bao bun. OMG.

Fantastic. Now I want to go to the sister shops. Really subtle notes in all plates we had. Worth it for sure. Staff was exceptionally nice from start to finish.

This was such a great meal after a lovely date night! Found it on Yelp and saw the picture. My partner said I want exactly everything in the pic very delicious! The drinks were tasty; had THC options. The Mac n cheese oh my gawwww. Get it! The burger we shared was a cowboy burger (I think!) the baby bao were tasty but a little pricy. We were extremely grateful for such amazing late night food!

The bad burger (ironically, it was bad)

Did not live up to our expectations. We came for lunch and just wanted to get some good burgers (which they were) but sadly it left's with a tummy ache. The burgers are really heavy in salt and make it feel unappetizing the more you eat. The food is pricey, like c'mon why am I paying $25 for a burger. The service is really nice and helpful. Inside it is huge and outside is nice besides having all the cars zoom past while eating. Won't come back anytime soon.

Love this place! Don't love the long waits but worth it for great smash burger(s) and drinks. The fries and corns are so good as well; you really can't go wrong here. Inside, the ambience is darker and more romantic. Outside, it can be a little loud but good to enjoy the summer air. If you're planning on going to the Magic Lounge, this is a great dinner option beforehand! ALSO - LBW's green eyes cocktail is probably my most memorable and favorite cocktail in the city (loved the little bird one at Machine but Machine is no longer open) but I could down 5 of the green eyes drinks in a row. If you like sweet and fresh, would definitely recommend!!

A friend recommended LBW to me for a recent trip to Chicago. I was immediately charmed by the neighborhood, Andersonville, I believe. Very charming. LBW is a large space, with a large bar area plus dining up front, but also a large dining space through an arched hallway. I was seated in the back dining area and realized right away it was too dim to read anything on the menu or take pictures. So, with my phone's light, I checked out the menu. Decided on a beer and attempted to order 1 steak taco and 1 steak bao. However the server recommended the pork bao and I decided to go with that. The beer was excellent. The steak taco was excellent. And the bao was well made, but was entirely too sweet and not a flavor profile I prefer. I wish I'd gone with what I'd originally wanted, but overall, I was cool with the experience.

Wolf Burger and Mac & Cheese

After hearing that Little Bad Wolf has one of y hr best burgers in the city, we absolutely had to check it out. The place is cute with artsy decor and lighting and friendly staff. Good cocktails, too. We got the wolf burger with a side of Mac, one each of the duck and pork baos, and a side of Brussels. The burger absolutely drops up to the expectations. It was big (3 patties), cheesy, had a good amount of bacon, really tasty mayo, lots of onion straws, AND an egg. Just wow. Very close to the best burger I've had in Chicago. The mac & cheese was also definitely worth the upgrade. Just the right amount of crispiness with the breadcrumbs and bacon and the best noodle shape for Mac IMO. Similarly, the Brussels were excellent with the shallots and bacon and crispiness. The baos were the only thing that were a little disappointing. Both were good not great and lacked exceptional flavor, the duck being a little better than the pork.

    Is it dog friendly?

I don't know. We didn't see any dogs.

Do they have any Private rooms?

The place isn't that big and I don't see any direct indications of there being a private room but I'd call to see

    Is it wheelchair accessible?

It's a storefront so it should be easy to come inside

Are you allowed to bring your own bottle? Cork fee?

Josiah, you are not. They’ve got a fantastic bar and service , no need to bring your own.

    Do they offer mocktails?

    Yes

    Do they have outdoor dining?

    They do!

    Is there Parking?

    No it's street parking

    Is there parking?

There is a lot behind the restaurant that I've parked in before without issue.

This a good place to take a date for drinks on the patio?

I wouldn't. I think their outdoor dining is on the sidewalk which isn't romantic to me lol

Do they have a lunch menu and/or lunch specials?

No, just one extremely delicious menu!

Is this 21 and up only?

We go in the evenings and have not seen any families with kids. However, we've never been or seen adults be carded. I tried calling their number but it's just an voicemail with their hours. I'll try to email them for a reply, or ask next time we go.

Do they offer any gluten free bread for their burgers?

No they do not have gluten free buns.

How late do they serve food? Until midnight when they close?

    Yes until midnight.

Is there an outdoor patio and do they allow dogs?

Yes, there is a smallish patio but they do allow (and love) dogs there!

No reservations taken - is a 3-top going to get shut out for dinner on a Saturday night? Visiting from out of town.

It can get very busy in here. It's worth the wait. Great news is that they will take your number and text you when your table is ready. There's a cute little gay bar next door as well that you can have a drink and wait. I'd say if you arrive after… Read more

How casual do your patrons dress? T-shirts and shorts?

I wore a hoodie and shorts the last time we went there. You get an array of different outfits there but overall it's casual.

When you first walk in, you have to show your ID since this is an adults-only bar establishment. (1) You can then choose to sit in the front bar area, if you want a full menu, but use the bar for ordering service. (2) If you keep walking through the front bar area, you reach the host stand at the top of the ramp. This is where you can put your name in to sit in the main dining room, upstairs, or outside. (3) However, you can also walk through to the left of the host stand to another bar area that has full menus, but bar service for ordering. This is our preferred spot because we can often find a seat and order with the bar. Do note that, during busy times, part of this bar area is managed by the host stand and will be labeled as such. The extensive beer menu is our favorite. We have our favorite food items, so all our decision making revolves around which beer we will get. They always have a bit of everything style-wise, from all over the world, but with a local-brewery focus. Seasonal emphasis is also taken into consideration when they curate the beer list. It is always rotating and we love it! Beers are served in the recommended glasses from the breweries. It's a great drinking experience from start to finish! Our food orders are eternally set: I get the Nueske Ham sandwich with fries and aioli. My husband gets the Reuben sandwich with fries and aioli. This meal is so perfect we'll probably never get anything different, despite the menu being delicious across the board. The wildest we get is sometimes splitting the two sandwiches. No reason to mess with a good thing! Other notable great things about Hopleaf: (1) Kind, knowledgeable, and professional staff. (2) Reasonable prices for high quality and great variety products. (3) Clean Belgian Bar decor/vibe with lots of space for folks to enjoy their time. (4) They are open late and serve food late. Thank you for being an amazing local spot, Hopleaf! We'll see you soon!

I doubt anyone leaves feeling less jolly than they did going in. On this visit, I started with the After Word to drink. It was light-bodied, not at all too sweet, and possibly went down *too* easily. We split the short rib poutine and I can't think of a better dish to get you through the winter. The meat absolutely melted in the mouth and the cheese was abundant and rich. Would order again in a heartbeat! We also tried the alligator bites as a seasonal special. I'd not had alligator before, but they were super crispy and spicy with an addictive gochujang sauce. One thing was missing: top down lighting; otherwise a fantastic experience!…read more I'm a big fan of Little Bad Wolf next door, and finally made it a point to stop in and visit the neighbor. It's not flashy, it is less busy, and if you don't know... sneeze and you'll miss it. The vibe is dark and moody, with notes of brown and dark blue. The art also fits the overall atmosphere well. I question, however, the large TV screen that seemingly only shows their name. It's not intrusive, just a bit weird. However, it was so dark that seeing the menu was more challenging than it needed to be. I can light it up with my phone, though I do (and did) so at the risk of being 'that guy'. Top-down lighting folks, I see the lamps up there, too! I ordered: - Oysters (4 as-is, 4 with mignonette on the side) - Duck Gnocchi - Sticky Toffee Pudding The oysters were medium-sized and excellent quality! They were delightfully briny and without a hint of cartilage or sand. The first order came with mignonette, and while enjoyable, being a bit of a purist, I put on a second order with mignonette on the side. Sure enough, I found myself adding it of my own accord. All the more evidence the kitchen knows what it's doing! Further proof? The Duck Gnocchi - the gnocchi themselves were soft and pillowy, more so than I've experienced up to this point. The duck in the dish was tender and soft as can be. The veggies (mirepoix) were sliced and cooked perfectly, adding texture, freshness and bulk (fiber?) without overpowering anything. To top it all off, breadcrumbs for a little crunch, and a mild sauce that tied everything together in perfect harmony. For the most important course, dessert, we have the Sticky Toffee pudding. A well cooked, well sauced helping of pudding, topped with a large scoop of ice cream that slowly melted, transforming the flavor as you go. For drinks, I ordered the Charred Boulevardier and the Burnout. The Boulevardier was rich, sweet and savory, in contrast the Burnout was brighter and fresher, and still boozy. While neither drink was a smack to the face with alcohol, after getting up, I could feel the effects. In terms of their service, it was polite and attentive, and all items came out fast! The prices are okay, though if you love oysters, keep in mind they will set you back $4/each! Final verdict: There is nothing at The Good Wolf that I wouldn't happily order again. It is hard to choose a standout when everything was of a high caliber. I look forward to working my way through their menu, and continuing to feed the good wolf (props is you know the story of the Two Wolves).
