Stopped in here around 7pm on a Wednesday night and they were pretty busy! We snagged the last table otherwise it was just bar seating. Ambiance is like a retro arcade/comic book store vibe. We got garlic knots to start and they're bite sized and delicious. A half order was enough for 4 of us to share. The pizzas were delicious and the smash burger (not pictured) also lived up to the hype. I would recommend The StopAlong if you're in the area!
Long overdue Review. My original dinner plans fell through so I noticed that Stop Along wasn't to far so me and my sister headed here. I like how SA is set up with outdoor seating right in front and on the sides and it looks a little divey on the inside, cute neighborhood spot. We were told to sit wherever and immediately handed menus. I knew that I wanted pizza, so I ordered a small Major Payne pizza which comes with pepperoni, jalapeños, garlic and cilantro and sis got the Stop-In burger. Our food came out looking so good and everything tasted on point! My pizza was so good, the pepp had great flavor, the jalapenos were actually spicy and I appreciated the flavor the cilantro added. My sister and I's plan to split our food was immediately thwarted--she took one bite of her burger and suddenly forgot I existed lol but I was able to get a bit and it was delicious. We had a great time, delicious food, customer service was really good. I'll definitely return when visiting Chicago again
This place is so close to us and now I know it's a great spot for all delicious burger and fries! We didn't have the highest expectations bc we've tried all the "best burgers" in Chicago and this hasn't made the list but I'm here to say... it should!! Gets in my top five. I could do without the lettuce but otherwise my husband and I both thought the OG burger was delicious! Good portion and not tooo greasy. The fries were soggy bc we did takeout but after a quick air fry, they were delicious too. We also got a "all the right moves" pizza. It was good, not great. I wouldn't come back solely for the pizza but I did enjoy it. Good amount of pepperoni, loved the honey. Just better pizza options in the area. Still tasty though!

We met some friends for dinner and it was the best time! My husband and I had never been here before and we absolutely loved the set up! All the art was beautiful and really tied everything together, brought us right back to our childhood. We each got a burger and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had! We got three Stop-In burgers with fries and one That Other Burger with cheese fries. The smash burgers were cooked perfectly, cooked through, but not burnt. The burgers had the right amount of sauce to cheese to meat ratio...it was perfection! We also split a 10" All the Right Moves pizza and it was so tasty, the crust had the right amount of crunch to it, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. This place definitely lived up to the hype and we will for sure be back.
Unwelcoming service, I was overlooked and wasn't greeted even while standing at the counter. It gave racism and/or sexism. Especially when she/cashier attended to all the men first before speaking to me. Not sure if someone called off and she was overwhelmed however, first impression last. The pizza look and taste rushed as though they threw it together. It had too much pepperoni which was salty & of low quality plus the dough wasn't fully cooked. Pizza sauce has good flavor. Won't be returning
Came in at about 9:15pm on a Friday night, it was pretty busy but we were out by 9:50pm! Server was prompt and great with her recommendations for the animal fries as an appetizer! It was our first time coming here but everything was so good, we wish we came here again before leaving! The animal fries were huge, could easily be enough for 3-4 people. The pizza we got was a small, which has six slices but thankfully we decided on the small because the animal fries were huge! We got the supreme small pizza, no olives. This has got to be some of the best pizza we have tasted, we ate so good! Only thing I would change is that we would've showed up earlier to play some of the games they had!

It took thirty-nine minutes from the time my order was acknowledged by Grubhub to the arrival of it at my residence. A shout out to the Grubhub delivery driver for making that happen in that astonishing time. I was not expecting the beyond burger to have a side of fries along with it being that it was not advertised online. Now the beyond burger itself looked very delicious! It is a beyond meat patty topped with American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, special sauce, on a brioche bun! As I took each bite of it, I had a smirk on my face in enjoyment. At one point, I could not help but shake my head and moan because it was that delicious, * chef's kiss *. With all aforementioned, I would gladly order from The StopAlong again whether it be in-restaurant order, or online via yelp with Grubhub delivery. This place is a super cute casual restaurant. They serve pizza as well as burgers. The food was subpar but good for "fast" food. The service was decent and its video game themed! Recommend for a quick stop if you're in the area.
Spontaneously decided to go on a walk one night and have an outdoor meal at the Stop Along. We anticipated there might not be enough outdoor seating as we walked over but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. In the warm weather months there are at least 4 tables along their dress up alleyway and another four tables out front between the establishment and bike lanes. We were seated/greeted right away. There were plenty of families with young kiddos and diners sitting outside their pups. We came early enough that their industrious string lights weren't on yet, but I imagine it's such a nice casual ambiance in the later evenings! We ordered their famous stop-in burger and large truffle shuffle to share parked with some limonata and lemonade. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we got a small box to take home our leftover truffle shuffle. The pizza dough was SO TASTY and perfectly baked, and there's a lot of sauce/flavors in their burger. The only thing to make the burger perfection would be more tomatoes (imo!). Next time, I'd love to come back to try their pizzas with hot honey. We couldn't have asked for a better impromptu casual Friday night out. One of my fave burger spots in the Wicker/Bucktwon area

Friends and I ordered: 1. Stop-in Burgers - double cheeseburger w American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, special sauce, brioche bun Animal Fries 2. Some of the Right Moves Pizza - fresh mozz, sausage, pepperoncini, garlic, e.v.o.o., basil, hot honey, spicy sauce The owner based the burger on in-n-out and I'll confirm, as a former Californian, it's fairly close. The toasted bun, salty American cheese, fresh veggies. Even the fries. Beef is nothing incredible and a little dry. Overall, it's a slightly better version making it a good fast food burger but not a top tier burger you might expect at a sit down restaurant. Pizza was solid NY style. Great flavors and chewy crust. This place has one of the top 5 burgers I've had in the city! We've enjoyed it at Burger Fest two years in a row and finally decided to visit the brick-and-mortar location. Every ingredient was fresh, crispy, and perfectly balanced with each part of the burger. The ambiance was cool, retro, and bright, with TVs to catch the Bears game. The service was fantastic--kind and super chill. I was pleasantly surprised that even the cocktails were amazing. The Old Fashioned I had was on par with any top-tier downtown spot. And the animal-style fries? A perfect blend of cheese, 1000 island, and onions--tasty, not too messy, and balanced just right. Definitely worth the hype, and well deserved. read more

Recently, my husband and I came here with some friends per their suggestion, and we all had a great experience. Upon walking in, I noticed the dining room was smaller than anticipated. Because of this, our group of 6 adults + a baby was difficult since families already took the longer tables. As a result, our party ended up sitting in two different adjoined booths, which kind of sucked, but we made it work. The decor of the dining room is retro and cool. They also apparently have arcade games in the backroom, but our group did not go into the backroom, so I can't comment on that. They also have a cute little patio on the side of their building, which we were planning on sitting at if it wasn't as chilly the day we went. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. She already knew our two friends and their baby because our friends had been there before. She consistently checked in on us and ensured we were content with our food and drinks. She also was helpful because the chef made one of our pizzas too small (which no one in our group noticed), but they ended up giving us an entire small pizza on the house to make up for the mistake. For my drink, I ordered a Bloody Mary. It was okay. I love spicy Bloodys, and this one was a bit more on the tomato sauce side. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was a little bland compared to some I've had. The drink also wasn't garnished with anything but a lemon... most places at least give some bacon, or a celery stick, cheese, or something! Nothing was even seasoned on the rim. Definitely room for improvement. As for food, our group ordered a couple of orders of garlic knots ($13 for each order). These were pretty good, but honestly, they weren't as garlicky as I was expecting. The dough was fresh and soft, but I do wish they were a bit more seasoned. When it comes to pizza, we ordered a large White pizza ($26) and a large All the Right Moves ($29). Both pizzas were great, and I LOVED the doughy risen crust, but if I was going to pick a favorite of the day, it would have to be the White pizza. The White pizza was made with garlic oil, fresh mozzarella, house mozzarella, ricotta, garlic, and pecorino romano. The pizza was flavorful, and the ricotta cheese dollops were heavenly. The All the Right Moves pizza had fresh mozzarella, Ezzo pepperoni, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, basil, hot honey, and spicy tomato sauce. Although this pizza was good, as well, it was a bit wet and messy. The hot honey was admittedly my favorite part of the pizza. I think I would have liked this pizza more if it had all of the same toppings but was a white pizza instead of having red sauce. I think the spicy tomato sauce clashed too much with the flavors of the hot honey and the pepperoni. My husband and our friend ordered the Cluck-Stop Sandwich ($16), which is a citrus-brined grilled chicken breast, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato, pesto, garlic aioli, and a pretzel bun. Both men enjoyed the sandwich, and my husband said it was flavorful and fresh. He would get it again in the future. Overall, I truly enjoyed my first visit here, and I would recommend it to anyone. They have many specialty pizza options, and I can't wait to come back and try more. It was hard for us to pick the two we wanted to order just because there are so many delicious-sounding options on the menu. read more

A very cute burger and pizza joint! The interior is fun, it's very bright and has a playful retro vibe. We heard the burgers here are super good so we had to give it a try! I got the short stop burger with animal style fries and the food was great! The burger was a thin patty (which I like) and I liked the sauce and caramelized onions on top. Not sure if I would consider this the *best* burger in Chicago, but it's definitely good. The animal style fries really tasted like the animal style fries from in n out and I loved all the toppings. While we were there, the pizzas looked and smelled delicious! I'll have to come back soon and try them :) I would recommend checking out The StopAlong if you're in the mood for burgers or pizza! read more
Came on a Friday night and had to wait about 20 minutes. Once we got seated we didn't get our menus for probably another 15 minutes. We also got our burger and finished it well before the pizza came so someone was always waiting. Now onto the food. I got the Stop-In burger with a side of animal fries. The burger was your typical cheeseburger with caramelized onions, tomato, pickles, lettuce, and a sauce. I thought that everything was average and nothing really outshined the other. It was a solid burger but not a memorable one. The fries stayed crispy even with all the cheese on top. There was a decent amount of onions and cheese layered on and was a nice pairing with the burger. Overall, a good burger and a very causal vibe. Unfortunately, the service wasn't up to par. read more

My husband and I live around the corner from StopAlong and it's hands down our burger spot in the city! My husband loves their short stop beef burger and I love the beyond meat burger! I don't eat red meat so it's hit or miss when I order a plant based burger. Can honestly say it's best plant based burger I've ever had. They recently added a chicken burger that looks really good! In addition to burgers I like the garlic knots and animal style fries. StopAlong's service is alway quick and efficient and the restaurant itself is so fun! Lots of pop art and 90s nostalgia. They always play the best music as well. Definitely checkout this spot in Wicker/Bucktown! read more
After having the StopAlong burger at Roscoe Village Burger Fest where they won, I wanted to come back and have one from the restaurant. It was great! Service was great. Food came out in an appropriate amount of time. Ranch was homemade and tasty. Food was perfectly cooked and a delicious combo of toppings. I ordered the Stop In Burger and fries! I'll be back soon to try more of the menu! Parking is easy right out front (paid), and was no problem on a Sunday afternoon. It's not a huge place so if waiting bothers you come at off peak times. read more

Always on the hunt for NY style pizza. Saw a review and we decided to check it out. It's at the end of a street and we were able to get street parking. Don't be alarmed at all the folks outside as some were waiting for takeout. We got right in a on Friday night but maybe it was luck? This place is busy! If you do an online order, try to get it in early as they stopped taking those orders I think by 8. We ordered 2 large pies and two drinks each which cost about $113. Margaritas were good and it says coldest beer in town but my husband said it could be colder. As for NY style, I will say it was close! Cheese was good, could've had a bit more sauce on his but mine was fine and pie cut Amen!! This was also the first place I didn't have to get garlic powder from the kitchen as it was on the table like salt and pepper Amazing!! The 10" will hurt your feelings so opt for the large unless you are also going to split a burger. They looked huge and were selling! Will have to give the burger a try next time. The crust was thin and maybe could've cooked a bit longer but the pies were flying. We sat for like an hour til our pizza came. They were hustling as you can see them from inside seating. We took half of each home which was great when reheated in a pan on the stove. I was able to get the crisp on the bottom and the crust was able to hold on which I loved! There is also an outside area, front and side with a bar and minimal seating inside. Kitschy decor with the old school games. Staff was very attentive even with the volume of people so they must be used to the crowds. read more

After waiting to get in forever at another pizza joint in the surrounding areas, we decided to head here. We had seen this restaurant be featured in magazines around the area. We got a large pizza to share and the smash burger to go. All in all, the food was worth the price. Atmosphere was old school with a slightly greasy floor. This is one of my low key favorites in Logan Square / Wicker Park, and the owner likes to say he has a better burger than the "other guys" down the street on Milwaukee. I'm not gonna lie: he might be right. This burger is out of control. It's a smash burger and you can get it in two versions: the "Stop In Burger" and "That Other Burger"--which is directly going after that well-known competitor. The "other burger" is crunchy, salty wonderfulness. I guess you can decide for yourself. Pizza is honestly great too... got "All the Right Moves" recently and the hot honey made it. Staff here are amazing. Rye smiles, a little sarcastic, perfect service. I would hang out with these people. And they're a little like the comic book / video game murals on the wall which are simultaneously high art and tongue-in-cheek. The whole vibe is vintage kid references if you're, say... born in the 80s, so it's Star Wars and Pac Man, Wonder Woman & Galaga, Mario & TMNT. When it's warm they do outdoor seating on the sidewalk and in the little alley - only downside is the blue line will drown out your conversation every 10 minutes or so, but if you're used to the city it's not a big deal. Good craft beer choices even if it's a fairly compact list. read more

Everything you want in a good burger, they know their stuff the way layer it the right way.The staff is is very friendly and will offer suggestions on the menu items. I ordered the "Stop-In Burger" and a side salad, Mom's Standby Salad with dried cranberries, spinach, feta cheese, and toasted walnuts with Ranch Dressing. I'm going back to try their pizza. read more
We'd been following StopAlong for a while and talked about making the trip out several times. Finally the stars aligned and we made it, and boy are we glad we did. The whole vibe is awesome. The nostalgia factor is super high but even if that isn't your thing, the service is just perfect. It was like everyone there was so invested in our having a good time, in the best way possible. We were going to get the Garlic Knots but instead got the Cheesy Bread Bites. WOW!. Hot, soft, cheesy, garlicky, just amazing. We also got a Truffle Shuffle pizza which was delicious. The crust is very, very good here, and everything on top was really good quality. If you're looking for a good fun time, just go here. You owe it to yourself, and your younger self which is probably dying to see how many action figures you can name! read more

Great neighborhood spot. Fantastic burgers, a vast pizza selection, and solid beer list. Personally, I love playing Mrs. Pac-Man in the back ;). Great aesthetic. Perfect place to pop in with friends of family. Friendly service too. Shout out to the owner who's super generous: offering free burger for any teacher that comes and shows an ID. read more

Food is always on point. I love how they have spicy marinara! The smash burgers are better than anyone's in the area. It's an 80s vibe so definitely nostalgia for all of us 80s people. The staff will remember your name. It's literally like the local cheers except they have exceptional food free video games for kids and an outdoor patio. read more
