Came here on a random Thursday night with a group of five friends- It was the perfect casual (and affordable) spot to just hang and chat. We split the animal fries, salad, and the burger. The animal fries had the perfect type of cheese on them and they were addictive. I honestly loved the Smashburger and thought that it was really well executed and had such an excellent sauce ratio. It's a double patty and the fries are just addictive. This burger is always on the best burger list in Chicago and I can see why. The salad is also good and only three dollars extra to add chicken, which is pretty cheap- Simple but good bar salad. Service was quick and good. I tried a little bit of the pizza and it was fine, but I would stick with the burger. Overall, the vibes here were really solid and I would come back! read more

StopAlong is definitely a vibe and seems to be the perfect spot to head to after a game of bowling at fireside bowl. We started with the garlic knots which were a great warm up and then I ordered the short stop burger which was very satiating and flavorful, not to mention the fries were delicious as well. Our table also ordered all the right moves pizza which was delightful. To top it all off, our serve Dillon was great and super accommodating for our requests. We had our son's 3rd birthday party here this weekend and cannot say better things about this space. We had the back outdoor patio and had plenty of space for about 25 people. There is games and basketball outside so the kids had a blast. We have always loved the pizza and burgers here. Unbelievable food and everyone was raving on how many pizza options there are. My personal favorite is Return of the Spaceballs. Lastly, we had the best server. He was so attentive, kind and patient with our large party. He really was incredible on checking in on us and making sure we had an amazing party. read more

This was our first food stop in Chicago, just a few steps from our airbnb and we were not disappointed. The interior is a basic bar with tables and I think a few arcade games but we were there mid day and chose to sit on the patio. It was like 2pm so it was more or less empty the entire time we were there. We had a shady seat but had a great view of the perfect weather and the food was delivered quickly. We loved the pizza and the animal style fries were very fun. I would have loved to come here again during out time in Chicago. read more

I was craving pizza tonight so we decided to try this new spot in the neighborhood! The pizza was delicious and the slices did the perfect fold in half to eat them. And oh my goodness was the staff kind here! I genuinely think that every single person told us to have a good night as we left. Our server was a little slow on coming back to our table, but nothing too extreme! The inside gives family friendly vibes and the back patio is such a cool spot to hang out on! This is definitely a family spot. If you go early n a Friday night, expect to be outnumbered by little ones. This is why we love it. We feel like we are with our people and don't have to worry about side-eyes if our kids are a little loud. The wait staff is patient and generous. The woman who runs front of house remembers my kids and that means a lot. Don't come in here expecting boiler room! Smash burgers are fire and the pizza always hits. For a Saturday night when everything else was packed, being able to get a seat and get food within the hour was impressive. When we did get our food it was incredible, and the drinks were also great. It was a clearly lively environment, perhaps louder than anticipated but not a problem at all. This is now becoming one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Conveniently located a few steps from the California blue line, this is the perfect stop on the way home from work, or on the weekend, or pretty much whenever you feel like it. I love getting garlic knots, a slice of truffle shuffle pizza and a beer (they have a great slice + a shot special)... chef's kiss! Today I switched it up and went with the bartenders recommendations. The whatamelon cocktail is just lovely... sweet watermelon with a kick of jalapeño infused tequila. Their liquor distributor wasn't carrying the usual jalapeño tequila they use, so they further infused the tequila themselves to make sure it was up to par. I've got to say, goal achieved, this is even better! Adam (bartender extraordinaire) is on his game! I also told him I was going to change it up from my regular slices and asked for some recs... the excitement with which he recommended the Felicity told me I had to try this. Amazing! Unexpected flavors that work perfectly together. I could've eaten the entire pizza myself (or did I?? ) The owner, Robert, is terrific and very active in the community, always helping out. Most recently, I hosted a fundraiser and emailed him on a whim a few days before to see if they could cater - Robert came through and his team totally hooked it up. The food was a hit at our event. I ordered the same amount of pizza that we typically do - all I gotta say is that we always have tons of food leftover. Not this time! read more

We had a large group, and fortunately, we were able to get seated immediately (early evening on a Friday). The manager was so accommodating, and the server was never pushy even with the large group. Food was consistent to the original location, except the garlic knots weren't as soft/chewy or garlicky. The Cluck-Stop was being shared, so we appreciated they cut it in half for us. The Mom's Standby was smaller than I recalled. Overall, food is good for what it is, quick, and it's nice to know this location is bigger since they don't take reservations. read more

This is the Stop Along, not the Boiler Room. There is no Boiler Room pizza here. Ok, now that we have established that, the people at this place are the best. Super friendly service from the time you walk in until you leave. Everyone was great. The garlic knots are great and the cheese fries are so good. But let's now talk about the burger. I've had the Stop Along burger probably 4 times before this and it has always been incredible. Like a top 25 Chicago burger incredible. However, this might have been the worst burger I've had in years. Literally it was falling apart and it was so wet it tasted like the entire burger, bun and all, had been dipped in dish water. It had NO pleasing flavor. NONE. 14 hours later and I can't get the taste out of my mouth. It was SO bad. This has to have been an off night. It just had to be because a restaurant with this reputation does not consistently serve inedible food. I left 3/4ths of the burger on the plate. I was so disappointed because it's usually great (at least at the original Stop Along). Something just went terribly wrong last night. Unfortunately, I will never be back. read more
