My friend and I stopped in for a quick drink before dinner. The place is super cute! The drink menu has a lot of options. The server came by and I asked what drinks were GF. She checked and confirmed that all cocktails were GF. I ordered the strawberry gimlet and it was delicious! Will definitely come back to try other drinks.

Came here with friends on a weeknight for happy hour. We got the bacon wrapped dates for the table and the $10 burger and fries special. You get six mid sized dates per order. Burger was delicious - tender and moist without falling apart. Dark, moody interior; tables are on the smaller side so we had to push a few together for our group. Service was efficient. Good place to grab a bite and have company on a weeknight.

Stopped in to start the weekend off right. Nice , dive bar vibes. Started with an old fashioned and finished with a whiskey high ball. The drinks are a little weak - especially the whiskey highball. It's pretty much seltzer , with a splash of whiskey. I do not recommend this drink. I'll give an extra star for the decor and nice staff.

Such a good vibe to this place. Came here on a Saturday night while we waited for a table at a restaurant nearby. We were able to find a seat very quickly. They brought us menus and rhe waiter made some great recommendations. I had the champagne snowball and my friends had the tuxedo martini and the hurricane. All of them were so unique and so delicious! Would definitely come back here!

My husband and I wanted to grab some drinks to bring in our 4 year dating anniversary. We wanted to keep things lowkey so we opted to make dinner and head out somewhere nearby for a nice drink or two. Golden Years definitely has a vintage vibe with the album cover posters on the wall and the alternative rock music. I ordered the strawberry gimlet and my husband ordered the cactus club. The drinks were good. We also shared the zombie killer. I liked this drink the best. The service was nice too. The waiter made sure to fill our waters and even helped keep our table from being unbalanced. We ended the night with the group shot and the bartender took our photo. We took two so we can keep one while the other can be added to their wall of pictures. The group shot is definitely worth it because you get a $6 shot and a free picture to save the memory. How sweet! It's definitely a spot you visit after a night out and you're winding down for the evening. The cool thing is that I spotted Golden Years in the Chicago magazine listed as #3 in the list of Best New Bars. Glad I got to stop by.

Super cute cocktail bar! It's very casual but cozy - we came in on a Friday night and got seated/served pretty quickly. I really enjoyed the Singapore! It's got a strong and sweet cherry flavor

Local cocktail bar, stopped in for a drink while waiting for our table at Lao Peng you. Tasty cocktail and nice bartender.

A decent neighborhood bar with a 70's disco oriented vibe. The overhead music is just loud enough where you'd have to raise your voice to speak, but not loud where it's uncomfortable. We came on a weekday night so only a few booths were taken. Drink-wise, the menu is pretty limited, but covers a wide range of styles. I got the Army Navy Fizz, which looking at the ingredient list looked like a tiki drink. I personally like my drinks rather stiff and this came close to my preferences, but fell slightly short. I followed up with a Boricua Stinger, which was stronger and very creamy. Of course, I had to sample the drinks from my spouse, so I took a sip of her Cactus Club. Wouldn't say it's bad, but it's pretty bitter and not my cup of tea at all. We came just before the cutoff for last call for the kitchen. We ordered the fries, which were crispy and cooked well. Service was quick, the food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Overall, Golden Years seems to be a decent neighborhood watering hole. Unfortunately, the drinks are not interesting enough for me to make a crosstown trek, but if I'm ever around I'd be happy to stop by and try some of their other menu items.

With an intimate ambiance, in Chicago's Fulton Market, Bisous brings the vibe of a 1960s Parisian cocktail lounge. Since they don't take reservations, I had a short wait at the door. Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

We shared oysters, the crab dip, and tuna tartare. The oysters were alright. The crab dip was funky. It was a bit fishy and maybe too heavy on the dill? I'm not sure but something was a bit off. The tuna tartare tasted fresh and was a good combination of flavors. It would be the only food item I'd reorder from the happy hour menu.

I ordered the horchata 2 ways cocktail which was $12 for haply hour and is typically $16. $12 is the highest amount for a happy hour cocktail that I have ever paid and I dont think it was worth it. The 1st sip was good but it was a very sweet drink and I was over it by the end. The drink also was half a very heavy cream so when you drank it you were drinking the liquid but not getting much of the cream. So you either had to lick the cream off the top or drink on the liquid and then either leave the cream or somehow scoop it out with your tongue so not really a well conceived cocktail. One of the fun and unique things about the bar is they bring out free tapas every once in a while similar to bars in Spain. They brought out edamame to the people at the bar right around 5pm and a group next to me asked at around 530pm if more tapas would come out and the bar person said the come out every 45 mins. I was there til around 630pm and another round of tapas never came out so do not expect that if you go. They did not give you water unless you specific ask for it which I though was odd, I heard 3 groups besides myself at the bar who had to ask for water, especially since this is supposed to be a nice cocktail bar and this is just one of my pet peeves but the water did not contain ice and was closer to room temperature which is not how I enjoy my water. Despite not being super crowded I had to ask for the check from 2 different people and it took 15 mins for them to bring it so if it is crowded I expect they will have pretty slow service. They do bring you a fortune cookie woth your check where you can potentially win a discount on your check or other prizes which is fun. Unfortunately the fortune cookie tastes a bit stale. I would say that this place is not worth it for happy hour but it had a cool but very dark vibe in there so it might be good for a romantic date depending on how good the food is.

With mixology being all the rage for the last 20+ years, I almost feel like it's hard to come up with a new drink concept these days. Truce shows that creativity in the world of booze is alive and well, and I count myself lucky to have had a taste. The 'Peas + Carrots' was a surprise win. Scotch, blanco tequila, sochu, carrot, snap pea, ginger, and kukicha. Sounds bizarre as hell, but it absolutely works. I also had a 'Final Say,' a spin on a classic featuring gin, clementine, fino, galliano, turmeric, black pepper, and lemon. The 'I Can't Believe It's Beer' has everything from mezcal and rooibos tea to guava and an aperitivo. I could ramble on about their menu, but I'd say just check Truce out yourself. You get what I'm saying. Their creative juices are clearly flowing, and they switch the menu up seasonally. They have some light bites too, but I really recommend them for cocktails and coffee. I wouldn't come here for dinner. They do drinks, so come here to drink. Plenty of very savvy-sounding N/A options, too. It's sleek, intimate, sexy, relaxed, and fun. Come through at 8 AM for a cocktail, roll through at 11 PM for a coffee, there's no judgment here. I'll be keeping an eye on Truce.
