9/5/26-5pm dinner My wife and I were really forward to trying Giordano's based on some stellar reviews and how busy it is, but it left a lot on the table to be desired. First and foremost, what really rubbed us the wrong way was the service. We were greeted by staff that did not seem friendly. When we were notified that our table was ready, we were told to check in with the hostess. She stared intently at her iPad seating arrangement and did not greet us. (Did we approach the right person?) She then informed some other staff to take us to our table without looking at us. This was a really weird interaction. However, the terrible service continued once we met our waitress. Initially, she was great and greeted us with a smile and helped us out with any questions. The turning point was when she served our appetizers. As she placed the food on the table, the food fell off the plate and onto the table. She picked up the food and placed it back on the plate. We thought she was gonna take it back, but nope. Before she fully left, we asked her to give us another plate. Oh man. Other that those two big things, the service was relatively standard. Turn around on food and drinks were solid. Big points docked for unfriendliness and basic unprofessionalism. As for the food, the appetizers were good, but not anything to write home about. If anything, it felt comparable to Dave and Buster's food. As for the main reason we came, the deep dish pizza was good too in the sense that its strong suit is how it cheesy it gets. But to be honest, there are much better deep dish pizzas to be offered in Chicago. I hope this location does better as basic kindness and professionalism can make everyone's experience so much better. It takes a lot for me to rate anything less than 4 stars as every place starts with a 5. It's unfortunate this is my first 2 star rating

Open late night, came in about an hour before closing. Two of us ordered: lemonade $4.10 caesar salad $11.75 small stuffed DD spinach $12.20 meat and more meat $16.20 3% restaurant fee Food takes awhile to come out. Could have taken close to 40-45 min. Overall, nice that it is open late. The cheese pull is crazy at Giordano! Compared to Lou Malnati, Giordano definitely better on toppings, but crust is not good and gets a bit stale.

If you are not going very early in the morning 10.30-11am, I recommend making a reservation. Specially for afternoon. Or wait for 40-50min. The deep dish pizza takes 40-ish minutes to cook as well so arrange your schedule accordingly. The server, Jocelyn, was the best. The pizza was good too, I had 6-inch deep dish cheese pizza which is enough for 1 person. Only negative experience was the hostess. As if she is trying to not be helpful, gives an attitude, not welcoming at all. However the manager was kind and understanding when I shared this feedback. Still, I'd try some other place next time.

An Uber driver who lives in Chicago recommended here and told me this is one of the places the locals go, so of course I had to try it! When I walked by, it was very crowded, loud, and busy with a line going down the street. I decided to place my order online instead, but here's something you definitely need to know: ordering online does NOT mean your deep-dish pizza will be ready quickly.Mine took about an hour and 15 minutes which I was told is pretty normal because deep-dish takes a while to make. I had my little stool with me, so I sat outside, took some pictures, and did some people-watching while I waited. There is some street parking, but there's a large building across the street that looks like apartments or possibly a hotel, so parking wasn't the easiest. They have a little To Go area where you can grab drinks and other items. I also bought a couple of their frozen deep-dish pizzas to take home and I'm glad I did! I baked one at 350° for about 40 minutes and it came out gooey, gooey, CHEEZY Iwould've liked a little more meat on it, but it was still good. They ship also. I also ordered a small/personal deep-dish pizza while I was there. By the time I ate it, it wasn't as warm as I would've liked, and I'm one of those people who does NOT like cold pizzaI know some people love it, but that's not me! So if you're like me, I recommend eating yours as soon as you pick it up from the counter while it's still hot. I ordered a soda. Total about $75 If you plan to dine in, give yourself plenty of timeThis place is very popular and the line can get LONG. Overall, the pizza wasn't bad, and I would definitely go back and try something different next time. The frozen pizza I brought home and baked fresh was actually one of my favorite parts!

Now that was a great pizza! We ordered a small deep dish meat on meat pizza and there was no way we could finish it! Oozing with melted cheese and lots of meats it was totally amazing! You do have to wait 45 minutes to get your pizza, but they warn you ahead of time that is how long it takes to bake. I'm wishing all pizza tasted this good! Service was great too!

We got the small meat lovers deep dish which is perfect for 2-3 people. Excellent cheese pull and yummy bread. The sauce and toppings taste fresh. Definitely better than Pizano's!

While on a trip to Chicago we needed to try deep dish pizza! We ended up here for lunch. There was quite the line outside and that was just to get in to the counter and order pizza but you still had to wait for a table. Kinda weird but ok. We did get a table in a decent amount of time though. The pizza came out and it was pretty delicious. We got a large pizza to split among 5 of us. It was more than plenty. Our kid loved the cheese pull as he took a slice. The place was very busy and kinda noisy. Our waitress was pretty nice.

Amazing pizza! So good! Chopped Italian salad was also yummy! Good location. Waitress was great! Only reason for 4 stars and not 5: Seated quickly but had to wait an hour for pizza. Bathroom was filthy! Would go back.

Deep dish pizza is a must-try according to many who have visited Chicago. When I first visited Chicago years ago my experience with DDP was great. It was a very filling and delicious experience. This visit to Giordano's was okay. The first thing that stands out was how poor the service was. Our server was not particularly quick, friendly, or caring. He wasn't devoid of attempting to do his job, but he wasn't good either. The ambiance is busy. Folks love pizza and this location in summer is busy. Our wait for a table for three was quoted as 20 minutes but we were seated quicker. We actually waited for our server longer than it took to get seated. The bathrooms were clean and seemed well maintained. The pizza we ordered was a deep dish pepperoni. I found our pizza good but slightly disappointing in that it came out slightly cold. The crust was great as a breadstick after eating the saucy and cheesy part. We also ordered a salad that was okay. All in all, I probably wouldn't come back considering the service and price, but I do acknowledge that deep dish pizza should be tried and Giordano's still makes a good one.

The seating was fast and the employees were nice. The inside was pretty basic for a sit-down restaurant. However, it took almost an hour for us to receive our pizza. We ordered the traditional cheese deep dish pizza. The pizza itself was okay, very cheesy, came out hot, and was pretty filling. It did end up making us feel a little sick afterward.

Perhaps my taste has changed a lot. This is my first time here. I've tried their competitor the LM pizzeria and I thought it was excellent, but then again this was years ago. I expected the crust to be crispy. Instead, it was just kind of hard. They do definitely heavily cheese this pizza and the marinara was excellent Service was good and we got a small that probably could've easily fed three people with a side salad. This place was packed. Is it overhyped? Perhaps maybe. But either way I guess I'm glad I tried it. I'm not sure that I would come back because maybe I don't like Chicago deep dish as much as I thought I did.

Chicago deep dish pizza didn't disappoint. We shared a margherita and a classic pizza. Started with a family size Cesar salad, which was plenty for four people. The wait was about 20 minutes on a Monday night for dinner. Our waiter was as attentive as he could be for a busy restaurant. Be prepared to wait at least an hour for pizza and put your pizza order in first. The photographers are the only reason for a four star review. We bought two photos and he explained that this line down the right side of the photo was a watermark. We asked if we purchase the photos that the watermark would be removed. He said no. That's not normal. Why would you buy a photo with a watermark? He ended up giving us all the photos but I'm not sure he understood the purpose of a watermark on a photo.

Very crowded when we got to this location, same as most locations. Ha ha got our names on the list was got seated within 5 minutes. Guess great timing on our part. Ordered the deep dish, wings and a shareable salad for 4. Salad comes out and it's just a bit larger than a side salad. When we question this the waitress said this was shareable. Even though we saw people with a lot larger salads. Mild annoyance, considering the star of the show was the deep dish, which didn't disappoint. We got the meat lovers and it was just what we needed. Highly recommend!!

    Ask the Community - Giordano's

Is it necessary to make a reservation? Do they actually take reservations? Thank you

They don't take reservations at this location, but you put your name on a wait list when you arrive and can pre order your pizzas. It's actually a great system !

Do you offer a gluten-free pizza crust?

Check the menu says available but we ordered regular classic crust during our visit!

    Is vax card required?

Not anymore , in December of 2022, but regulations could change in the future.

A few of their Chicago location websites say they have reservations but when I try to make them online, you can't. So they don't take reservations?

When I visited last month, we just walked in and were seated.

    Do they do single slices?

they do not do single slices, all pizza you just order to be made. the smallest pie size is an individual which is 6". deep dish takes 45 minutes minimum to make and thing crust takes about 35 minutes minimum.

Are dogs allowed in their outdoor seating area?

    Yes

Can you call in to place an order ahead of time?

    Yes

    Corn meal crust?

    Nope!

    Whens the last order time?

I believe 1 hour before closing.

Do they leave the top portion of the stuffed crust pizza uncooked for a reason?

It's not uncooked, it is just the style of pizza. Normally, pizza has the sauce and then the cheese on top. With deep dish they put the cheese with the toppings and then they top it off with the pizza sauce.

Why oh why did you get Rid of the deep fried Mushrooms?

Was replaced by some other dish during last menu update.

We ended up doing a walk-in on a Sunday night and showed up at 8 PM one hour before close. This worked out for us because we got a really good seat after only waiting for 20 minutes. Service is good and timely- the hostess was super kind and helpful. We started with some cocktails- a Negroni & a spritz (both were good & pretty strong). Then we split the Caesar salad and a pizza with half sausage/olive and mushroom/onion. Yeah, the pizza did blow me away- the crust is perfectly crunchy and so so thin. I wouldn't even describe it as traditional tavern style pizza because I think it's a really crunchy crust- but it's definitely wayyyyy better than Dimi Dimi (that's the most comparable crust imo). The sauce has a slight spice to it, and the whole pizza just feels very layered in terms of flavorful profile. The sausage was also spicy but very good and I absolutely loved the mushroom and onion duo. Sometimes when you go to a certain pizza places, it doesn't feel worth it, but all the ingredients felt elevated here and the pizza had an elevated taste. The Caesar salad had a nice light dressing and a ton of cheese. I wish that the lettuce had a bit more of a crunch to it, but they seemed to use butter lettuce. The inside feels like a classic Italian joint, but it's very small and simple Overall, so glad that I finally went and although it's not a place that I would go regularly because I live far, I would definitely come back!
