The cheese pull is on point
Clarrisa N.

When we walked out, there was a line outside with a wait, as expected. The host was standing outside in which we walked to and requested a party for six people. While waiting, it was suggested we walk inside and pre-order our pizzas with the hostess located inside. Surprisingly the weight was not long. The seating area is much larger than what it appears to be from the outside. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly. We ordered their most popular pizzas which included the meat lovers. It was our first time eating a deep dish pizza, and we learned that the crust is not thicker. It is that all of the toppings are located underneath the sauce. I could only eat one slice and only one other person at the table could eat too. We had a lot of leftover pizza. The atmosphere is on the loud side, no outdoor seating was being sad at, and the restaurant was clean.

Individual sized "all the meats" deep dish pizza

The embodiment of all my pizza dreams live here at Giordanos. A great overall experience! Great service, beautiful restaurant, and delicious food. The house salad was so, so refreshing! Fresh crunchy salad with delicious cheese, locally sourced. The tavern style pizza was my favorite; plenty of toppings, perfect crunch, perfect amount of cheese. I also loved that the pizza was cut into squares; perfect for sharing. We opted to also try the deep dish and took the advice of many YouTubers and got the INDIVIDUAL sized "all the meats". It was a bit salty for my taste but it was good overall. The crust was nice and crispy, lots of cheese for the cheese lover in me. Definitely would be better if I had created a custom pizza with some veggies to balance. Our servers and front desk host were both lovely ab had great vibes. Would definitely be back for the tavern pizza and salad when I come back to Chicago.

Italian Beef and Giardiniera Arancini balls

We walked in and had no wait. My daughter and I were walking around Navy Pier and decided we'd like to split a deep dish pizza. We ordered a personal pan cheese deep dish. Deep dish takes 45 mins. We also ordered the Italian beef stuffed ball appetizer. Our waiter was fantastic. Very efficient with our drinks and letting us know our pizza would out shortly. It was very cute inside and quiet enough to have a conversation.

Stopped by Giordano's as our first meal after landing, and we definitely went all in We loaded this deep dish with so many extra toppings, and wow... this pizza was THICK thick. Like, one slice and you're already questioning your life choices (in a good way lol). The crust was buttery and sturdy, holding everything together, and the sauce on top had that classic rich flavor. Not gonna lie though--no cheese pull moment here but honestly, it didn't even matter because it was still super satisfying. This was meant for two of us and we only managed ONE slice each before tapping out. Ended up giving the rest away because there was just no way we could finish it. If you're hungry (or think you are), this will humble you real quick

Super Veggie - Deep Dish

Got the boneless chicken nuggets as an appetizer first, and they were the most lifeless looking nuggets I have ever seen. The buffalo sauce looked more like food dye than actual sauce. After one bite, the nuggets had to be sent back. Then tried the fettuccine alfredo, which was also terrible. The sauce barely stuck to the noodles and overall it was pretty bad. Expectations were not even high going into this place, just expecting fast food vibes, but honestly starvation would have been better. Proceeded to try the deep dish since that is what they are known for, and once again it was not a hit. I am glad only a personal pie was ordered so it did not feel like a complete waste of food.

The food was overrated but our server Antoinette made our experience so much better. She was friendly, attentive and respectful. When we walked in we were greeted but once we got to the top of the stairs lol we werent acknowledge until 3rd person came to get us. We didnt expect much but our server she was the best. 5 out of 5 for service We got the appetizer it was a bit undercooked from mozzarella to the chicken nuggets. I did enjoy my cesar salad. We got the deep dish pizza and I give it a 3/5. Yes def cheesy but it lacked flavor. The ambiance was nice. Tips * 45min wait after you order your deep dish. Maybe just wait for that and not fill urself up w appetizer lol

Deep dish 10" all meat

First and foremost, the cheese pull was amazing. Ok we were on a layover in Chicago on our way home, and my sister said we had to stop by here. I've never been here and it was also my nieces first time in Chicago. The folks were nice and we were seated immediately. The place had good vibes. A lot of families and friend gatherings happening. The sampler platter was so good. The triangle cheese had the longest cheese pull I've seen. And it was delicious on top of that. And the deep dish was just amazing!

First-timers to the Windy City. The food and I mean the cheese pull is amazing. Service was great. Staff was really nice and the noise level was loud from all the conversations pertaining to the pizza and was welcomed. Definitely coming back.

Chicago classic

Known as a staple (or maybe a tourist attraction) but I definitely feel like there are other, maybe local / independent spots that have better pizza. But as someone not from Chicago, this is the first time I've tried it so take my opinion with a grain of salt. We got the Chicago classic, which had too much cheese for my liking, not enough filling (veggies / pepperoni) or sauce. The crust felt like it was reheated from frozen. That said, we ate the whole thing and were satisfied, but won't crave deep dish for a while now.

This is considered one of the best places for deep dish pizza? It tasted more like cardboard to me.

there wasnt a wait when we visited on a tuesday night. the restaurants kinda huge and it was super cozy on a december night. lots of seating that are spread out, so there is some privacy for each party. we waited 45min for the pizza and my biggest regret is that we ordered a small,,, like it was essentially a kids meal and i wish we ordered a larger size esp for the wait. we also ordered some garlic parmesan fries (came w ranch) bc we didnt want to wait another 45min for another pizza, but the fries were super crispy and crunchy. id def come again to try their tavern style pizza + more of their items !! a must visit if you're in chicago tbh

I'm not sure I understand the hype around this place. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated and another 45 minutes for the deep dish pizza we ordered ,exactly as they said it would take. The pizza tasted good overall, but the crust wasn't my favorite since I prefer a more buttery crust. The interior and atmosphere are cool, and they also have an outdoor section, however it's closed during the winter. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend setting aside at least two hours because there will be a lot of waiting involved.

Pepperoni and giardiniera peppers stuffed pizza

I visited Chicago for the first time last week and had to try Chicago's deep dish pizza. My brother ate here and recommended it. Apparently, this place serves stuffed deep dish (extra layer of dough), which is different from deep dish. Before researching about it, I didn't even know there was a difference. The place was huge! We came late in the evening so there wasn't a wait at all to be seated. I'm glad because we didn't know that the deep dish would take 40-45 minutes to bake. We had two little boys with us, so they would have been super cranky if we had to wait longer. The hostess didn't give us any crayons or coloring paper. So after finding out about the wait, we asked a waiter if they had any, and I'm so glad they did! That helped keep the boys occupied during the wait. Man, I don't know how ya'll Chicagoans can pay $40 for a pizza. It's so expensive! The pizza was pretty good with good flavor. I don't think you can really mess up pizza, though. I'm not sure what I expected, but I was expecting more. Perhaps, more butter or seasoning on the crust. The texture was different because it was more on the doughy side with lots of ooey gooey cheese, which I didn't mind at all and actually enjoyed. It also sort of felt like eating two pizzas at the same time. The service was good, though. During the 40 minute wait for the pizza, you may feel forgotten since there isn't really a need for the waiter to check on you. However, our waiter was nice and friendly the times he did stop by. He even gave us a heads up when the pizza was almost ready, which was nice. Also, big thank you to the waiter for making my boys' birthday dinner special by giving them small scoops of ice cream. It truly made their night!

Is it necessary to make a reservation? Do they actually take reservations? Thank you

They take both reservations and walk ins

Do you offer a gluten-free pizza crust?

Check the menu says available but we ordered regular classic crust during our visit!

Is vax card required?

Not anymore , in December of 2022, but regulations could change in the future.

A few of their Chicago location websites say they have reservations but when I try to make them online, you can't. So they don't take reservations?

When I visited last month, we just walked in and were seated.

Do they do single slices?

they do not do single slices, all pizza you just order to be made. the smallest pie size is an individual which is 6". deep dish takes 45 minutes minimum to make and thing crust takes about 35 minutes minimum.

Are dogs allowed in their outdoor seating area?

Yes

Can you call in to place an order ahead of time?

Yes

Corn meal crust?

Nope!

Whens the last order time?

I believe 1 hour before closing.

Do they leave the top portion of the stuffed crust pizza uncooked for a reason?

It's not uncooked, it is just the style of pizza. Normally, pizza has the sauce and then the cheese on top. With deep dish they put the cheese with the toppings and then they top it off with the pizza sauce.

Why oh why did you get Rid of the deep fried Mushrooms?

Was replaced by some other dish during last menu update.

Up until tonight, my experiences had always been positive and the food was fantastic. Unfortunately, this visit was more than disappointing. I ordered a salad I've had at least a dozen times before, accept I added grilled chicken on top. I live for this salad and was just there maybe three weeks ago. Unaware that they have changed their menu, I ordered as usual. The name of the salad has not changed on the menu, but apparently the ingredients had been completely altered. When the dish arrived, to my surprise, it was drastically different and not something I enjoyed at all. I politely informed our server, who was kind and accommodating, and offered to replace the dish. However, it was now 6 p.m. we had tickets to see The Wiz at 7 p.m. and didn't have time to wait for another order, which I also informed her. I asked if the salad could be removed from the bill since it was essentially untouched. The server checked with the owner, who refused to remove the $30 salad or offer any kind of discount. When a restaurant changes a dish but keeps the same name, it creates a reasonable expectation for returning customers. When that expectation isn't met, basic customer service should step in. What makes this even more frustrating is that the restaurant was willing to prepare an entirely new dish, but not willing to remove the uneaten one from the bill. That simply isn't logical. If you're prepared to replace an item, it clearly acknowledges there was an issue, so refusing to comp or adjust the original charge is unreasonable. That decision was extremely disappointing. I, in-turn made the decision to eat only the additional grilled chicken on top, leaving the rest of the salad, paying the full bill and promptly getting out of there so we could be on time for our show. The only positive part of the experience was our server, who handled the situation with professionalism and kindness. Sadly, the new menu leaves much to be desired and this experience has cost Peanut Park my business and my referrals going forward.

Reservations are released 21 days ahead of time, which I personally find impossible to make. Every time I've checked over the last several years there have been no availability. Yesterday I decided to pop on their website again and was delighted to find that they had released same day dinner reservations for patio only dining. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining so I went ahead and booked a table for Friday night. I felt like I won the dinner lottery. Service was wonderful and I didn't mind sitting outside at all next to the road with cars. I actually never stepped foot in the restaurant so cannot comment on what it's like inside. But do not give up that patio dining reservation if it's available. All of our dishes were delicious. I was really impressed by the meatball appetizers, chicken vesuvio (the potatoes are a must get as a side if you skip this dish), and branzino. The meats and sauces were wonderfully balanced and tender. Nothing tasted overly salted. Ironically, the pasta felt less of a star compared to the other dishes. And of course I had to get the gelato, which was so aesthetically presented and the taste just reminded me of an Italian summer vacation.
