Before my trip to Chicago, a coworker told me, "You must get Pequod's while you're out there." While we had a packed itinerary, I made sure to fit in time to and I'm glad I did! I've had deep dish pizza before, but I was not prepared for this - the real deal. Pequod's was the right choice. We ordered two pies - a half vegetable and half plain pie, and a meatball pie. Honestly, we should have just got one pie because it was so much. It was delicious, but it was A LOT! We had leftovers for days.

SO GOOD! This was my first time trying Chicago deep dish and it did not disappoint. The service was great and our server was super helpful answering questions. The inside was cool with plenty of seating. Make a reservation ahead of time so you don't have to wait for a table to free up. The pizza does take about 45 mins to come out so be prepared to wait but it's so worth it. We ended up getting a bunch of toppings on a medium pizza which was perfect for two or three people. The pizza was fresh and the cheese was 10/10. Can't wait to try again during my next visit!

The wait time can be so long here, but the pizza is phenomenal and I'm all for it! I love deep dish and a good solid pizza and Pequod's delivers! A slice is a lot but it's so good that you end up eating more. You can also reserve via Tock, but beware that the normal dinner time can be booked out early! We got seated immediately upon check-in and service was nice and fast! Definitely prefer the deep dish over the thin here. My party just wanted to try the thin here as well since we've tried deep dish and like it.The wings were a little small (some pieces) but fried crispy and nicely with good buffalo and barbecue flavor. Until next time!

12" Medium Pan Pizza with Extra Pepperoni and 1/2 Jalapeno

Arrived at 10:30am on a Friday morning and we were first in line. People started trickling in afterwards and by the time they opened there were maybe 15 in line. Didn't seem like we needed a reservation even though we were asked if had one. Well if you were looking for a divey atmosphere, from the state of the bathrooms to the flat Diet Pepsi, ya found one here. Clearly this place has turned into a tourists' sanctuary, but that didn't stop the staff from giving us exceptional service. We ordered a medium pan pizza with extra pepperoni (the extra was a mistake and unnecessary lol) and half jalapeno with a half Caesar salad. The salad was.... a salad, nothing to write home about but completely essential to help cut the richness of the pizza. The pizza, Oh Lordy, what an undertaking. I don't think I'm qualified to judge a deep dish pizza, because I've had it only once or twice before. The crust was fine, the sauce wasn't sweet, the pepperoni was crispy the way I like it, and the best part was the crispy edges. It's just such a massive amount of food, just one slice almost sent me over. But it did feel like we got the quintessential Chicago deep dish experience that we were looking for. So look, we are totally glad we came. Just not sure if my arteries could do it again.

Pequods is amazing! This is a fork and knife, cheese pulling experience only for the brave. Chicago deep-dish pizza really does live up to the hype, just don't expect "regular pizza." It's gonna be heavy, take 30-45 minutes to bake, and one or two slices will fill you up so be prepared. Trust me it's all worth it. I went to both Perquod locations, and this one has such lovely city vibes. So many people told me to check them out. The service was great. I love that this location has two stories. This pizza is incredible as always. Already planning another trip back and I can't wait!

I used to have a lot of deep dish pizza back in the day when I visited Chicago more frequently. But its been a while, and this is my first time trying Pequods. Its a little far from the city, so got the pizza delivered (I'd heard that the pizza is still good after being delivered). It was totally fine, and I'm sure it was very close to the in store pizza. Really enjoyed it. Perfect ratio of meat to cheese to crust. Loved the sauce too. Small size is big enough for 2 Malnatis may have slight edge but this is my 2nd favorite.

BLUF: LONG wait (45+ mins for 1 pizza). GREAT pizza. A must. Food (5/5): We got 1 pizza to share. Pepperoni & black olives. The pizza is a deep dish, scorching hot, and absolutely delicious. 1 small pizza (4 slices) is enough for 2 people. Service (4/5): Service was good. We got asked if we made a reservation on a Thursday at 1:30pm... we didn't, but were seated almost instantly. They were packed with people, so we didn't get to interact with our server much besides ordering. They take a lot of delivery-app orders, so the front desk guy (GM) was CONSTANTLY dealing with that while eating lunch, bussing tables, and helping at the bar. It was impressive to watch. We had a 45 min wait for 1 pizza because it was lunch time and completely packed. Ambiance (5/5): Crowded so plenty of people watching. It's a typical bar, so nothing special.

10" Small Pan Pizza with bell peppers, Italian sausage, mushrooms, and garlic

We made a reservation, which definitely helped make sure we could be seated promptly. We came over the summer, and the whole place was VERY hot inside. However, the food was well worth it! We got the tossed salad with the creamy garlic dressing (delish!) and a pan pizza with sausage, mushrooms, garlic, and bell peppers. It was sumptuous. The dough was lighter than I expected in density, and the caramelized crust was so tasty too! Overall, we had a fun time!

We had our pizza to go. The place is very small, you can tell it is loved by all of the locals. Unfortunately, they had wrapped our pizza in foil. When we arrived a few minutes later, it was soggy on the bottom. The marinara sauce that they use is delicious so much flavor. I think we'll have to go back and eat our pizza in house

My hubby & I treated our "sudden" guests from Paraguay to deep dish pizza on Thursday (6/18). Due to all the hype I've heard and read for a couple years about Pequod's in Lincoln Park, we took them there. We still prefer Lou Malnati's, hands down. Hubby & I shared a salad... I make better salads and dressings! We ordered a large pan pizza which was overly salty with burnt crust edges. The cheese and tomato sauce were really good, but the saltiness killed it for me. The place was packed and very noisy. Not sure if it was quieter on the second floor. When you have lots of customers, it's important to have a system of checking the status of the restrooms very often. They were quite neglected. We often have out-of-town and foreign guests to host and show off our city to. We always include a deep dish pizza meal for their experience, and usually at Lou Malnati's. Always a great experience, especially the branch in downtown Naperville- consistently good. And Lou's really makes the best salad than anywhere! Sometimes for a potluck contribution I just pick up a Lou's salad, guaranteed to make everyone happy. However, our guests enjoyed the pizza and dessert; thus, I can give 3 stars for our experience at Pequod's.

Double pepperoni. WOW
Kristyn M.

Ordered from here since they were really the only deep dish spot that was open late. I'm sure glad I did! I ordered through door dash and wow. This pizza is hands down my favorite Chicago deep dish I've ever tried. The cheese on top was crispy, I ordered double pepperoni and they absolutely gave me just that. 10/10, that'll be one of my go to spots my next trip out there!

They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead. The salads are comically oversized, the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're meant for a family of four or a single very determined marathon runner. But let's be honest: no one is here for lettuce. We're all here for the pizza pot pie, that molten, bread‑wrapped, cheese‑laden dome of joy that defies every attempt at categorization. It's not deep dish, it's not thin crust -- it's its own thing entirely, and that's the point. This is the place you bring out‑of‑town guests when you want to show them something uniquely Chicago without defaulting to the usual deep‑dish suspects. But it's also the place you come back to on your own, because once you've had that pizza pot pie, it lives rent‑free in your brain until you return.

I got there and there was about 15 people in front of me in line. The hostess was really nice and because I was there by myself, she called up to the bar to see if there was any seats at the bar so I didn't have to wait. I found out that Chicago style pizza takes about 45 minutes to cook, but I was willing to wait. After about an hour I asked where the pizza was, and they said "we lost it". Although I was disappointed that I had waited so long , they were accommodating and apologetic, and took ownership, which I really respected and appreciated. They said they could get me another pizza quicker than 45 minutes, so in total I waited about an hour and a half. They asked me if there's any appetizers I wanted for free or drinks and because I didn't wanna fill up before my pizza and I had already had a salad , I declined. The pizza came out and it was absolutely delicious. Was it worth the wait? Because I didn't have anything else that evening for a while that I needed to do, it was worth it. If I had been in a rush, it would've been a different story. The hostess, the bartender/waiter and the manager were all very nice and attentive. I had a great time at the bar socializing with people from different parts of the country. I would definitely recommend Giordano's.
