Finally finally FINALLY!!!! I got here and tried the pizza! This has been on my Chicago food bucket list ever since it opened. We ended up doing a walk-in on a Sunday night and showed up at 8 PM one hour before close. This worked out for us because we got a really good seat after only waiting for 20 minutes. Service is good and timely- the hostess was super kind and helpful. We started with some cocktails- a Negroni & a spritz (both were good & pretty strong). Then we split the Caesar salad and a pizza with half sausage/olive and mushroom/onion. Yeah, the pizza did blow me away- the crust is perfectly crunchy and so so thin. I wouldn't even describe it as traditional tavern style pizza because I think it's a really crunchy crust- but it's definitely wayyyyy better than Dimi Dimi (that's the most comparable crust imo). The sauce has a slight spice to it, and the whole pizza just feels very layered in terms of flavorful profile. The sausage was also spicy but very good and I absolutely loved the mushroom and onion duo. Sometimes when you go to a certain pizza places, it doesn't feel worth it, but all the ingredients felt elevated here and the pizza had an elevated taste. The Caesar salad had a nice light dressing and a ton of cheese. I wish that the lettuce had a bit more of a crunch to it, but they seemed to use butter lettuce. The inside feels like a classic Italian joint, but it's very small and simple Overall, so glad that I finally went and although it's not a place that I would go regularly because I live far, I would definitely come back! read more

Super thin, super crispy, and holds up without getting soggy. 9.7/10. The pepperoni + hot honey combo was perfect. The flavor was amazing and everything just worked together perfectly. 9.8/10. The Italian beef + giardiniera half was good too, more savory and heavier, but the meat had more of a pulled texture than actual than expected. 7.5/10. The seafood skillet didn't really land for me. Put our name down for a table around 4:30 on a Saturday night and the wait was about two hours. The service was good and the vibe of the restaurant was nice. The food was just okay though. We got a Caesar which was very briny but not very much dressing. The super thin pizza crust is crispy but it seems like the pizza lacks some chew. I would say 1 pizza is enough for two people, especially with some toppings. The pizza base is already expensive but honestly the part where it gets really overpriced is how much each topping adds. This place kept the pizza simple and cracker thin just the way we like it. They have limited seating outside however we were able to snag a seat with our dog. We got three toppings, which is what was recommended and it was amazing. The service was great and very attentive and we looked inside and it looked very authentic and like you stepped into a Time Machine however, I was also really awesome. The website does recommend adding toppings, but we did not feel that the price per topping was worth it, so we went with cheese with red sauce! Pizz'amici is one of the newer pizza restaurants in Chicago which has been getting a ton of hype, and they're always booked out. Somehow, I managed to get a reservation for a Friday evening (I did make the reservation a month in advance though). The restaurant itself is not super spacious, so all of the tables are really close together. On top of that, it's super dark inside--this all creates for a fairly intimate but slightly loud environment. We went with the Burrata, Focaccia, and BYO Pizza. The burrata and focaccia combination was heavenly; their focaccia was so pillowy and flavorful. The pizza was also really good. I'm not sure if I would say it's the best pizza in Chicago, but it was certainly delicious! I like that they're really flexible with doing toppings on half of a pizza (and only charging you for the half), so we were able to try a lot of different combinations. We tried things like regular cheese, spicy pepperoni + hot honey, giardineria + sausage, etc. I really liked their ratio of pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings, and the crust was really yummy. Overall, it definitely is an extremely good pizza. I don't know if I would care to fight for a reservation again in the future, but if I have the opportunity to come back, I certainly will! read more

We couldn't get reservations so we went just before opening at 4pm and waited outside about 15 min and were able to snag a table for three. We started with the Caesar salad which was fine but nothing special. I wish the lettuce leaves had a crispier romaine and there was something off with the dressing and there just wasn't much of it. The pizzas, though, did not disappoint in the least! The pepperoni with the hot honey drizzle was our favorite. It was absolutely delicious. With reservations being hard to grab I ordered a pizza for pick up. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely order again. Toppings are pretty pricy but really you don't need more than one or two. The crust is super thing and so yummy. I also ordered the caponata but was super disappointed by the amount of focaccia it came with. The focaccia itself was super good I just wish it had come with maybe double the amount to hold the amount of caponata. For $14 it was rather steep for the serving size. Inside was very intimate and small which makes sense why reservations can be hard to come by. Very cute and quaint spot. I don't think it'd be worth a 1 month wait for a reservation. Went here on Saturday. We went because of the TikTok hype. The wait is long, definitely make a reservation before you go. We ordered the Halal pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was pretty big and canned feed up to four people. Secondly we ordered a regular size pizza that can feed 2 to 3 people. The Caesar salad was not the best they do use butter lettuce instead of Romain. The dressing on it wasn't a traditional Caesar dressing... It was not good. I wouldn't get it again. The pizza, was decent. I do like thin crust Tavern style pizza, but this pizza was extremely thin. There was barely any cheese or sauce on it. I tasted the halal pepperoni prominently on it though. It wasn't bad. I would rate a 7.5 out of 10 as far as the flavor of this pizza. The pizza tasted like a cheese cracker. It was different! We definitely fell for the hype. The pizza was reasonably priced for what we got. We did eat the whole pizza. It did the job. The ambience in this place looked like a movie! It's perfect for a date night. It is small and intimate. It's just a room with tables and chairs, not much character really. Our server was trying really hard to be cool. He had an extremely casual attitude which I thought wasn't very professional. I love thin crust pizza so I knew I wanted to try some tavern style pizza while in Chicago. I don't even remember how I heard of this spot, but was so excited to get a reservation for 9 pm on a weeknight while in town. Nate and I arrived and they couldn't find my name on their list. Turns out, I made the reservation for a month later, womp womp. They were SUPER kind and accommodating and let us wait for a spot at the bar. I also didn't realize they closed at 9, so I am so grateful that they let us stay. Because this place was amazing. We started with some drinks - I got the Amalfi spritz, and Nate got the pepperoni negroni. When I tell you this was the best Negroni I've ever had, I'm not being dramatic. It was super balanced and smooth, and delicious! The menu is pretty small, with a few starters, salads, a couple desserts, and the pizza. You get to build your own but they recommend three or fewer toppings, so we did sausage and mushroom. When they say it's cracker thin crust, they mean it. It was super crispy and thin, which I really loved. I like tavern style wayyyy more than deep dish! We even ate the leftovers cold the next day and they were still delicious. I will say that it was definitely quite salty, but I loved the quality of the ingredients and the savory sauce. Plus we had great service from everyone we encountered. This pizza is something that you would really enjoy if you prefer a saltier option. The thin crust and crisp within it is amazing, the sauce is a bit too salty, but still does work. The cheese is good, but I would say this is a saltier option compared to most. The thin crust is great and eats well, having you want more in the process because of how many slices you can eat with it being so light. Finally scored a reservation at Pizz Amici and I get why it's such a tough table. The space is small and cozy, which adds to the charm but definitely makes it a hard res to snag. We started with drinks: the espresso martini was excellent, and I tried a dirty gin martini with anchovy, unique, fun to try, though probably a one-and-done for me. For apps, we split the chopped salad, meatballs, and focaccia bread (a perfect trio, and they kindly added an extra meatball since we had four people). Everything was fresh and flavorful. The star, of course, was the pizza. We ordered two tavern-style pies: a pepperoni with hot honey, plus a half sausage/giardiniera and half Italian beef/giardiniera. The giardiniera definitely brought the heat (pretty sure it's from JP Graziano), but it worked perfectly. Two pizzas were just right for four people, and they absolutely lived up to the hype crispy, bold, and packed with flavor. Loved the pepperoni the best! Service was great, the vibe was warm and homey, and the price felt more than fair. All in all, Pizz Amici deserves the hype and a full five stars. It's tough reviewing a no frills pizza joint that has reservations over a month out, but PIZZ'AMICI does what it does very well. What you will get is very great, quick service, a menu that's 100 percent focused in and around one size of pizza and a very solid drink menu for a small place. I feel like if I was a long time regular I would be annoyed at the tourist feel because it's very intimate and feels like a place you can hang out at for hours. Food is simple and delicious. A really good tavern-style crispy pizza. Amazed by the story of this starting in the basement and pizza brought friends together. Reservations are hard to find, I think because it's a very small, cozy space and it feels like a family dining room. At their recommendation, we got a jalapeno and hot honey pizza which was incredible. Not too spicy but had a lot of flavor. I was in love with the crust--how it was able to hold the weight of the toppings without being too dense. It had a great bite and had a lot of flavor as well which was exciting to me. I cannot claim this as my favorite thin pizza in the city BUT I definitely within the top 3 and would love to come back to try more combinations of toppings. I placed an order online for pickup. I ordered a 14 inch thin crust with sausage and another with pepperoni. I placed the order at 4pm and it was ready at the time promised at 6pm. While the pizzas were good, I felt they were definitely a tad bit overpriced. The pizzas were paper thin, so less dough being used, yet still charging a higher price than their competitors that are using more ingredients. I mean the pizza was paper paper think. WOW! I can see why this spot requires a reservation so far in advance. We learned of Pizz'amici through the One Bite pizza review, and left as repeat customers for so many more reasons! It's only mid-March in 2026 and I've been coast to coast on my pizza excursion. In New York in January I had Speedy Romeo and Impasto both in Clinton Hill Brooklyn and both were fantastic. Los Angeles I had Gjelina in Venice Beach and Pizzeria Sei in West Los Angeles and (again) both were excellent. Chicago this year I've had Dimi Dimi in Lincoln Park and tonight Pizz'Amici in Fulton Market and both outstanding. But if I had to pick a winner (so far) my 2026 champion is a tie: Both Chicago joints were crushing this wood fire favorite hands down. Pizz'Amici is this small, crowded, loud and incredibly popular parlor making some of the best pies around. There cracker thin, old school pizzas are sublime. We ordered their 14" pizza with onions and sausage and we enjoyed the hell out of this pie. It was flavorful and snappy! The staff here were at the ready for any thing you needed - pronto. I've been "around the block" a few times and I know when some foods are special. I had to see if waiting up for a month in advance reservation would be worth it. They took a real minimalist approach to the interior design. A few pics along the white walls, a bar set up in the back. Pretty basic. The service was fine. We ordered the Caesar salad and the chopped salad. The chopped salad was giving "scala" and I will be ordering that ever time. The Caesar was also really good. Now for the pizza review. We ordered two pizza. The first one was a Pepperoni and banana pepper. It was solid. The second pizza was 1/2 sausage and peppers 1/2 Italian beef and giard. The Italian beef had great flavor. Overall I like the sausage and peppers pizza the best but there wasn't a bad slice. We did get two cocktails that were good.
