I thought there would be a lot of people so I was surprised that I walked in for lunch on Sunday and it wasn't busy, which was nice. My friend and I each ordered a burger and fries for ourselves. The NADC burger ($16) was decent, but it didn't blow my mind like people have raved about. I know it's not the original location which can play a part as well. What I really enjoyed and even finished my friend's were the fries. I love some good fries and these were top quality. You could taste the difference of the oil these fries were made in. They were nice and crispy and very good! I could keep eating them and would rather get the fries than the burger next time. I have gotten this to go a few times but this was my first time eating there! My bf and I sat at the bar and had the best time! They have a ton of cocktails and they are very cool! We were able to chat with the general manager a bit and hear NADC story, it made me love this spot even more! I got a passion fruit drink with boba this was great! As we were chatting they mentioned an eggnog drink! I love eggnog so this was for me, and it was perfect! Such cool cocktails here, I had no idea!! We split the burger which was phenomenal. With my dietary restrictions, I had a double patty (no bun, no sauce) stacked with jalapeños and pickles. Still tasty, but I definitely left a hungry. Epic fail. You have one thing on the menu! You have one job. Make a great burger. But this ain't it. Is it a good burger? Yup. Is it great? Nope. And it's $16 before tax. I could have easily eaten two of them and not been overly full. You can see from my photos it's a small burger for $16. Oh, and don't get me started on their fries. They are terrible. My son actually ate some and tossed half of them. He is a French fry machine and I've never seen him not finish an order. And then their ketchup is weird. There's not a damn chance that I would ever return here to recommend this place to anyone. NADFC. I was already going to going to leave a poor review, perhaps a 2 but changed it to a one after I found out that they automatically charged a 20% tip when I did not authorize them to. They didn't mention anything during the service and what I authorized on their credit card machine does not match my bank statement. They definitely didn't deserve gratuity either. Our entire visit here just seemed off. We sat down at a table and they handed us menus but was told to order at the bar. I I placed my order and they needed to hold onto my credit card until we were finished. We also had to get our own water and utensils and get our own food once the beeper started vibrating. Can someone help me understand how that merits any type of gratuity? The burgers were $16 each which is a fair price for a decent size burger, but these weren't any bigger than a McDouble. I also ordered mine without pickles and they still put pickles in the damn thing. Even if I take them off, the pickle juice flavor stays in the burger. Definitely not worth the $16. Flavor of the burger is salty and rich, which I love, and we ordered the fries beast mode style - tasty but I could pass on this and order them regular next time. I would have loved if the burger came with lettuce and tomato to cut through the richness, but this meal definitely would hit during or after a night of drinking. This's our first time visiting this place! There's only one burger item on the menu. You can add an order of fries or this loaded fries. It's a bar/ burger spot. You order it at the bar, they give you a buzzer and you just go pick it up when it's ready. You can seat yourself anywhere available. They also have non alcoholic beverage options. The burger is on the pricier side in my opinion, $16 for a 2 Patties, $8 extra to get the 3 Patties. We got 2 burgers, 1 order of fries and 2 non-alcoholic drinks are close to $50 before tips. The burger itself is very good and fresh, very flavorful and the special sauce is pretty tasty in my opinion. And the fries are fried with beef tallow!! The burgers are All made to order, so it does take some time to get your order. There's street parking close to the area, or few mins walk from the train. A friend asked for a small adjustment to the burger and was told "well then, what's the point?" She also routinely walked past our table, which was full of trash. I love trying different smash burgers in the city so this has been on my list. The patties were juicy and flavorful. I liked all of the toppings on here, but wish there were more jalapeños or something else just to add a bit more of a snappy texture. Overall very solid smash burger in the city, maybe just a bit heavy for my personal taste. I prefer some of the more inexpensive smash burgers in the city as my go-tos but this is definitely somewhere to try at least once. The fries were probably my favorite above the burger. Overall a pretty decent smash burger that's pretty flavorful and juicy. The restaurant itself is very casual and is basically a first come first serve bar area. Price-wise you're paying a bit of a premium for the burger but I think you'll be satisfied nonetheless. If there's one thing I am, it's being a burger girly. The burger scene in Chicago is endless and NADC has always been on our list for the longest time. We decided to give it a try on a random Wednesday night. For a Wednesday, I'd say it was pretty packed but luckily we were able to grab a booth in the back. We shared the Tokyo fish bowl punch cocktail which intrigued me being that there was pandan in it. I'd say it has a hint of it but it wasn't as strong of a taste as it was the aroma. Pretty tasty and refreshing drink though! Between two, we shared the beast mode fries and each got a cheeseburger. I know there's a lot of comparison of SALT and NADC to INO but being from California, I'd say the "dupes" are not really comparable. The beast mode fries were good in their own way.. I loved the thin and crispiness of the French fries and the pickled toppings packed a nice punch. Now for the burger.. first bite.. I was intrigued and it was going well. The smashed patty had a nice char to it. However, the more I bit into the burger, the flavor was getting lost in the sauce.. literally. There is some special sauce in the burger that really is smothered way too much and it takes away from the burger I feel like. The sauce didn't really taste like much too but just a way too creamy sauce that killed the charred patty taste that I love in a burger. For the price point, I don't think the burger was worth it. There are way more affordable options that hit the spot. Definitely a cool vibe in here but I don't think NADC made our top burgers list in the city. read more

Went to NADC for the first time this month and was blown away. I have officially had the best cheeseburger of my life. Went on Friday for lunch just as they were opening up. The space isn't super large so I would recommend getting there early if you're there for lunch. It looks like it's open fairly late too so it could be a good late night bites option as well. The menu is pretty straight forward. The burger comes with all the fixings and they don't customize....it doesn't matter though, the burger is perfect. The smash patty is crispy and flavorful, the tamed jalapeno and pickles help cut through the greasiness of the burger, the sauce is amazing and it is all contained in an awesome bun. The bartender was abrasive from the second we walked in and yelled about parking(I didn't park I got out of an uber) I told him I didn't park...I took an uber, he continued with his poor attitude. I had a conversation with him to break the tension as I understand people go through things personally. I visited 1/11/26 around 5pm. The bartender had a Bears hat in which I mentioned to clear his negative energy. No greeting when we entered just ask how many. When I asked for ketchup I said "Excuse me sir where is the ketchup located". He said "Which fries did you order, beast mode fries don't come with that. You can have a seat". Then proceeded to step on my shoes as he passed by. I payed no mind a second time. Finally I went to order a drink and accidentally said "can I have a Japanese flash house". He the said "That doesn't make sense, the menus up there"... The drink is called a Tokyo Fish House. He didn't even laugh or smile while saying that. Then when I payed for the drink and it's time to tip he wants to crack a joke saying "The best things happen when you make a mistake". I work in Luxury Service and this type of treatment was unprofessional. A basic procedure is good attitude and willingness to assist.
