This was my son's pick for our first lunch when we spent a weekend in Chicago to go to the Hatsune Miku Expo at the Auditorium Theater. While I was picky to keep it within walking distance, it would have been worth a drive. So yummy! We each had a burger, and mine included the most amazing bacon. Excellent service from Kennedy! She gave us great recommendations and was very attentive and kind. Really cool sports bar! Very spacious and lots of seating options. Fun and relaxed atmosphere. The food is delicious! The award winning chili is so good! The brisket in it is perfect. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol or caffeine but luckily they had juice options too and I loved the peach nectar they offer. I also really enjoyed the Parmesan truffle fries. When it's warm outside, they open the big windows and it's so lovely. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger. They offer brunch on the weekends and different happy hour options Monday thru Thursday. I was on the city for the first time, running the Chicago marathon. I was in the mood for a burger, and came across Burger Bar. It has dive bar vibes, but was clean and friendly. I have food allergies and the waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful with my choosing something I could eat. One big thing I loved, as someone who is a pickle lover, I LOVED that my burger had a good amount of pickles and they were large spears. I've never seen a burger do this, and it was delicious. Came here for dinner on a weeknight, no wait to sit down and server was very knowledgeable about allergies (I can't have gluten). Ordered the garlic wings, which were solid, and the bison burger on a gf bun with fries. The burger came out so undercooked (barely browned on the outside, completely raw on the inside). The server noticed when he walked up and promptly said he'd bring it back to the kitchen to cook properly since it was clearly "rare". Brought it back not even 5 minutes later, which is not long enough to cook a burger... we didn't eat it, and when the server came back he said "oh I'm just so glad we were able to rectify the error, and I hope you will come back another time, the kitchen is usually great on the first try" which was weird vibes based on a completely uneaten burger on our tray lol. I've been to Burger Bar several times in the last few months as a part of a running group, and we've always been well taken care of despite our large group numbers. I've tried the chicken and shrimp burgers, both of which were really well seasoned and made. The waffle fries were also delicious. I'd love to come back to try out the happy hour menu! read more

A few years ago I was in Chicago and wanted to try this place. But it was a Friday or Saturday night and it was packed. Back recently and my hotel was around the corner. Amazing burger. But dang, expensive. Burger come with nothing, just the burger. I mean, it is epic. Mine had pulled short ribs on it. But I mean fries were extra. They also have non burger items on the menu so there's a little something for everyone. The staff is super friendly and they have a wide selection of local brews on tap. It was not readily apparent who the hostess was, that was until she emerged from the bar - which I thought was odd considering she was sitting with other patrons. In the end, I ordered a firehouse burger, which was small and greasy. Sides are separate and pricey - I ordered tater tots which seemed to come out of a frozen bag. The place seems to be more interested in selling expensive memberships to patrons. They have a good selection of burger and also other types of food including appetizers and dessert. If you love pickles you have to try the deep fried pickles and I also recommend getting the side of truffle fries. Portions are reasonable. It's a good size. I usually have leftovers with a smaller tummy which they have sustainable to go boxes for. They do charge for to go containers and utensils which I think is a plus for sustainability. I tried the bbq crispy chicken burger , it was pretty good. My fair maiden ordered herself a Twisted Tea on tap while we were enjoying a nice Saturday afternoon date. I decided to take a little sip and it absolutely changed my mind about the entire drink. I typically do NOT like twisted tea, but this one was otherworldly. This is the only place I have ever been to that has had this beverage on tap. The presentation was impeccable, the glass was perfectly chilled with just the right amount of ice, with a lemon wedge on the rim. Service was incredibly slow. The restaurant was relatively full and it definitely seemed like there weren't enough people working. It was 30+ minutes between me getting seated and receiving my food. I wanted to order a shake when my food was dropped off, but the server put down my food and bolted, so I didn't have a chance. When she finally circled back 20+ minutes later, I asked if I could get a shake to go. It took another 20 minutes for the shake to be delivered without a straw. After I paid the bill, I requested a straw for the shake and was given a standard straw, which isn't suitable for a shake's thick consistency. Went to Chicago for a day trip and grabbed food to go at The Burger Bar. First things first, the manager is phenomenal. He was chatting with us as we waited for our food and even turned us on to a monthly special that he insisted we should come back for because it's amazing. The decor in the building was nice, it wasn't over crowded and the staff was super friendly. This spot was definitely a whole vibe. I got a bacon burger and my husband got a build-your-own burger as well as fries ;). We had quite the drive home to Michigan but we demolished our food as soon as we got home. The candied bacon was delicious and that's coming from someone that traditionally won't order bacon because I prefer to make my own. The fries were crispy and even after our long drive were tasty. My husband said his burger was on point and is looking forward to trying them in the future. We will definitely be back when in Chicago next and thanks to the manager's suggestion it will hopefully be by the end of the month. read more

I made a reservation for my daughter and I and when we arrived, we told the host. He said it would be a few minutes. There was a party of 3 before us who didn't have a reservation, and when a table opened up, he sat them first. We continued to wait and were sat about 15 minutes later. I know he forgot that we had a reservation because I made it on Open Table and they contacted me later, believing that I was a no show. (Once I explained the situation and even described our conversation we had with the host, they confirmed that we were there and awarded me the points.) He was very nice but I just feel in being so chatty with everyone he forgot to check us in. Anyway they have a variety of burgers or you can build your own. We ordered two of their specialties and the parmesan truffle fries. The burgers weren't the best I'd had, but they were large and quite filling. The fries were great! My friends and I were looking for a restaurant near our hotel. We decided on burgers and made a trip to Burger Bar Chicago. From the time that we stepped through the door, we received stellar service. We were greeted immediately and seated shortly after. Within 2 minutes, we were given water and told that our server would greet us soon. Our drink orders were taken promptly and the food order was taken once our drinks were delivered to the table. The food was hot and fresh. My burger was thick, juicy, and cooked the perfect temperature. The fries were fresh and seasoned nicely. I enjoyed every bite!! I was impressed with the level of service that I received. The server was attentive and the manager was polite, kind, and hospitable.
