Amazing food that I enjoy often late night... they have the best service and always ask if I want more packets of honey and ketchup!

The mozz sticks were good at first, but after a few bites the seasoning became way too much. The flavor was kind of weird too, almost like chicken seasoning. The breading was pretty hard which I didn't mind, but they would've been a lot better if they were crispier and served hotter. 5/10. The tenders and slider were bussin. We got the mild flavor and it honestly wasn't spicy at all, so I'd probably go hotter next time. Definitely not your average tenders. Some of the best tenders I've had. 8/10. Fries were normal. Service was fine. The server greeted me right away when I walked up, which was nice. I love chicken so hot you could cook an egg on it just as much as the next guy, so when I found out that a place called Dave's Hot Chicken was located within driving distance from anywhere, I buckled in and headed out. Coming down off my Chicago Dog High™, I wasn't sure I could stuff as much chicken as I wanted to inside of me. But, like Kenny Rogers, I'm a gambler. Pulling up to this chicken place, the exterior was wild and wacky, like a Nickelodeon throw back. I'm a 90s kid, so I got that reference. There was plenty of seating outside, plenty of seating inside, and a decent parking lot for you and your friends. I don't know if it was a new place or recently updated, but it just felt fun and inviting. It was a walk up counter, like the restaurants of yore. So you had to do the face to face service. The menu was limited. Focusing mostly on sliders and chicken strips, with a few other odds and ends and sides. You certainly wouldn't be scratching your head to figure out what you wanted. It was either chicken or chicken. And cauliflower. But the cauliflower was disguised as chicken. Anywho. I'm here for business, not pleasure. I wanted to experience both of their main items. Chicken and chicken. I was all in for one (1) slider and 1 (one) finger. I decided to order the finger mild and the slider extra hot, banking on the slider ingredients to save my baby mouth from the heat. First things first. I would travel in a truck full of angry bees across country just to see PICTURES of this chicken. I don't know how they did it (a magician never shares their secrets), but this chicken was cooked perfectly. It was thick. It was juicy. And it's sauce was done in such a way that it didn't turn the breading soggy. The icing on this chicken cake was the fact that they also sprinkle spices ON the chimken. Came here the other day for a quick dinner and I was pleasantly surprised! Normally not a huge fan of hot chicken but this place was great!! There are a few different spice levels to choose from. I ended up getting the tender and sandwich combo with fries which was plenty of food. Honestly a good deal - $14ish dollars for basically two entrees and fries. I also got the spicy BBQ sauce on the side which I really enjoyed. The servers were very friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. After consistently passing this place after a workout, finally had an opportunity to check the place out. Very clean patio and I love the art/graffiti inside. Very friendly customer service and helped me pick what I wanted to eat. I believe the chicken is flavorful and juicy but, I don't think it is as good as everybody's hyping up to be. We tried Dave's Hot Chicken for a work meeting and it did not disappoint! I was the one that suggested it and at first, I was even a little suspicious because I couldn't picture everyone getting a Chicken Sandwich for a work meeting BUT they had the Mini Sliders and those were ! Highly recommend. With the fries and honey packets. It was a bit pricey but all worth it and I'm glad we tried it. It was actually everyone in my office first time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and we will be back soon. I really want to try their full sandwiches and everything on the menu basically. Nothing compares to Hattie B's in Nashville so maybe my expectations were too high. I got the 2 tender basket - one hot and one extra hot. The spice was there but the chicken on the drier side. The fries were crisp but not much flavor. I didn't love the sauce that came with it and wish there was a ranch option. My Mac and cheese and kale slaw on the side were great additions though. First time to Dave's Hot Chicken today. Overall the experience was pretty standard. As for the food it was decent. I personally think the chicken and fries were much better than anything Canes has to offer. I didn't like the Dave sauce but the packs of honey they offer were a nice touch. The chicken tenders and sliders were large in size so don't think you need more than normal. The food will definitely fill you up. As for the seasonings or spice level. The medium was good. This new location is now open as of today and I think it might be my favorite lol I love the decor and the set up of this location. Dave's always has edgy and upbeat art and vibes and this location has a lot of it! Everyone is super nice and very helpful and all of your good favorites are here. I indulged in the loaded fries and the chicken bites of course. I also had a slushy from them for the first time and next time I'll pair it with their ice cream! They were so friendly and the food was delicious. I walked in and was greeted by 3 different employees who had no idea that anyone else had greeted me. I ordered online, someone quickly grabbed my order. While that person was getting my food, someone else asked if I had been helped. This all happened in under 2 minutes in the restaurant. I think the "slider" would have been plenty. This is a "slider" a tender and fries. A big basket of fried food. First of all, THIS IS NOT A SLIDER. A slider is a few bites. This is a sandwich and is plenty of food for lunch. The tenders are inedible but the sandwich at least has some pickles and slaw to break up the ridiculous seasoning. More slaw. It needs more slaw. You also don't need to put mayo on fried food. If you dip your chicken in hot sauce as they do in the South, it's vinegar based, that breaks up the richness of the sandwich. You get your flavor and heat from the dip. I didn't get half way through this basket before I pitched it. The crinkle cut fries are very good. This isn't what you might be expecting if you have ever had real hot chicken. Really really disappointing stoner food. read more

I want to start this review by prefacing that the staff there are absolutely amazing! I have tried this specific location twice now and have found that the food here just isn't good. I've tried several different chicken meals, including the sandwich as well as the chicken bites and no matter how much of the sauce you put on there (and I am not a fan of any of the sauces to be clear) the taste still feels off. I will say I do enjoy the fries, they are really well seasoned. I really wanted to like this place because it seems like they have potential to be great but each time it disappointed me. So, I don't get it. It's just chicken tenders. And they are just ok. What's all the hype about this place? The staff was great. The woman who greeted us was nice. Very polite. Welcomed us in and asked if we have even been. That was a welcoming change from most places who don't even ever look at you much less say hi. But that's about where the good ends. The food itself is just chicken tenders. Tenders on a slider bun or by themselves. And some different variations of fries. The tenders themself, were hard and chewy. There were bites taken that literally felt like biting into a hard plastic to go spoon. Spit it out and actually checked to see what it was. Just overcooked, burnt, chicken apparently. The sauce was ok, but not enough on it at all. Needed to be soaked. If you're going to specialize in chicken and offer sandwiches, at least have a whole chicken breast. Tenders don't make a good chicken sandwich. Cane's does this too and it's rediculous. If all you do is chicken and sell sandwiches, sell the right meat for the bun. The coleslaw on top of it was bland. Crisp, but no flavor at all. The pickles were a plenty and all over the food and plate. The price, was equally as disappointing. $20 for 2 chicken tender sliders, fries and a drink. That's crazy! Nice location. Very hip. Very nice staff. The sliders were SO GOOD I think I may have blacked out whilst eating. I had Dave's hot chicken for the first time in LA, then again in Charlotte, NC. Every time I've had Dave's, the food and service has been consistently exceptional. The fries are perfectly crispy and the chicken has never felt small or greasy. First time at a "Dave's". I understand this is one of the fastest growing chains in America and it must be pretty good, because it was busy! The counter service was outstanding. The young lady was friendly, organized and....well, if I owned a business, I'd want her to work for me. They have a very limited menu. I thought the prices were a little expensive until I saw the portions. I had the 2 sliders and fries. It was much more than expected....they were more like full sandwiches than sliders. Well worth the cost. The food itself was ok/pretty good. While Dave's has multi levels of hot sauce, no where does it mention blue cheese or ranch, just mentions "Dave's Special Sauce" that looked very much like 1000 island dressing. I did not try it. Sandwiches were good, but I think I am so used to buffalo sauce, I found the sauce a little gritty. I think they use cayenne pepper and it was more forward than I am used to. Wasn't bad, just different than I'm used to. Roll and toppings were terrific. Fries were good, but very salty. Tried to wrap up slider/sandwich #2 to take home Tried 2 times to get to the very small counter area to ask for some sort of takeout container....it was just too busy to come close. So I just wrapped in napkins. I'm glad I tried Dave's. I'd go back if it was convenient, but I wouldn't make a special trip.
