I don't like giving businesses low ratings but this one was deserved. Walked in around 7:30pm on a Wednesday. The guy looked at me but didn't say any greeting. Should have left then. I asked if they were still open and it took him a minute to register before saying yes. I ordered the tender plate, which is pictured. I was really looking forward to some fries. When he went to pack it up, I asked about the fries. He said they were out so he gave me Mac and cheese. What?! He didn't ask me if that was okay. I wouldn't have gotten that if I had known because that's too much dairy for me. The tenders were overdone and almost burnt. The chicken inside has promise but overshadowed. Mac and cheese was cold and not that good (and didn't finish it because my stomach can't do dairy). $15 for 3 tenders and Mac and cheese I didn't want (because I was expecting fries)? I looked back at the menu again when 8 got home and there was supposed to be coleslaw which wasn't put in the bag. It's not that hard to make fast food correctly. Pretty disappointed by this and won't be returning.

10/10 all the way around! Service was phenomenal, the young woman behind the counter was very helpful and even had us try some spice levels before ordering. We ordered to-go and it took maybe 8-10 minutes for 3 meals. The messy fries were amazing, great portion and flavor. The Nashville sandwich was great too.

I like their platter. Last time I went the spice level was different than I remember but they tweak the formula here and there. In my opinion, better than canes down the street! They have booths inside for eating. It has a fast casual vibe since you order at the register and then the food comes out and they call your name. Dinged 1 star because the spice level for medium was habanero but had no spice to it. Other times I've gotten medium there's been a spice that really stood out.

FOOD: Fry the Coop is my all time favorite place to get hot chicken sandwiches. I've gone to many places in the city but nothing beats Fry The Coop. My husband and I always get the Nashville Fried Chicken sandwich and Tender Plater. I like my sandwich spicy so I always get mine Hot and my husband will get Medium. The chicken is fried to perfection. It's crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The coleslaw nicely balances the spiciness of the chicken. I also love their Mac and cheese and cheese fries. There's nothing super special about their fries but the cheese sauce makes it addicting. Honestly, everything at Fry the Coop is so good. SERVICE: The service was great! The gentleman and female behind the counter were so nice and helpful. AMBIANCE: Cozy

Great addition to the neighborhood! I came in for the first time and ordered the Spicy Honey Butter Fried Chicken Sandwich. What a unique taste! This had a great heat level and the sweet/spicy flavor was just perfect. I complimented it with their flavored fries which were great as well. Hats-off to the service here as well. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly, my order was prompt and he asked me how I liked my food when leaving. Will definitely be part of the rotation!

Yum, I love Fry the Coop! I was surprised to see this location when I was driving down Lincoln one day, and I don't know if it's a good thing to have one within a couple miles or not. And they actually have honey mustard sauce, which I'm not sure the Portage Park one does. Anyway, their medium level spice is my favorite and the one I always get because the next level up is tooo spicy for me to have more than just a bite, and the others are not spicy enough. The staff here were friendly and the place is just getting up and running so there wasn't a big crowd. They have only a few tables but most of their business will probably be carry-out anyway given they're just around the corner from DePaul. Food was good, as I'm used to from Fry the Coop, and the prices were on par with most of the other places (except the ridiculously expensive one in Oak Lawn). I'm certainly going to be back here again.

It's all about balance and moderation when it comes to my meals. I've not been a fan of fake chicken breast because it never tastes right. I'm was really blown away by Skinny Butcher Crazy Crispy Chick'n! These chicken sandwiches really taste like chicken. The breading on the outside is crispy and the sandwich bite is fantastic. I'm truly amazed at how fantastic these plant based chicken sandwiches tasted. We ordered the Original Chick' Sandwich, Buffalo Chick'n Sandwich and the Chick'n Parm Sandwich. All of the sandwiches came on a potato roll. Which is honestly the best roll ever made. It's soft and absorbs all of the flavors. It's the perfect bun for any sandwich. The Original Chick' Sandwich comes with a mayo sauce and pickles. The Buffalo Chick'n Sandwich has a mayo based blue cheese sauce plus pickles. The buffalo sauce is really tasty with just the right amount of kick. This sandwich was definitely my favorite. I truly loved the spicy kick. I thought I was eating a real chicken sandwich. I also needed to try the Chick'n Parm Sandwich. Hey I'm Sicilian! Let's put this place to the rest. It was fried golden brown and topped with marinara sauce, oregano, fresh basil and melted mozzarella, provolone & parmesan cheeses. My Nonna would have thought this was a fresh real chicken breast. I highly recommend all of the plant based sandwiches here. They also have waffle fries! It's been since forever since I had waffle fries. I loved how tasty they were. It reminded me of being a kid. I'm not an expert when it comes to plant based food. I just want my food to taste good and not be filled with chemicals. They advertise that the plants used in this chicken are pea based and not soy based. That seems really important but I'm too lazy to search my web browser for more info. If you know the answer sent me a message. I'd love to know. Yes I'm giving you homeowner to do in my review. It's all about interacting on Yelp. This location is very unique. It is a ghost kitchen located in a Wow Bao on Clark and Diversey. You can order through Grub Hub or Uber Eats for delivery or pickup. I decided to pick it up because I didn't want my chicken sandwiches getting soggy, as they toured all of Chicago on their way to my house. Pick up was super easy. When I walked into Wow Bao I told the guy I was here for my plant based chicken sandwiches. He chuckled and immediately knew who I was. He then asked for a few minutes, as the chef in back finished building them. Plant based food is not a replacement for real meat. It's meant to help feed our planets growing population. If it can lesson the footprint, then I'm all for it. I really don't miss the meat at all, especially when it tastes this good. So if you're looking to go meatless, then this is your place. The sandwiches are solid and I highly recommend you try the Skinny Butcher because his chicken is crazy good.

Way over-salted, tasted like they dumped the entire salt shaker on them. The buns were spongy and smashed all over the place, looked like someone sat on them before serving. My 2nd fav order is the Big Daddy burger (tsaiziki and bbq on the side) and a Maxwell Street Polish giving you a bit of everything Chicago.
